Well, we're back on the air. . . or on the wire. What is it when you broadcast on-line? Anyway, Brents in Boxers is going through a renewal. We're fresh, and at least one of us is sexy. . . if your into that kind of thing. While still being on New Artist Radio we also have our own web site. I haven't been posting much here, because all my posting time has been spent there. Also, Brent was able to get us on Planetary Streams. Yeah, they misspelled the title. Everyone does. Brent is working on getting that fixed.

Wow that is a bunch of stuff. Beyond that, not much new is going on. Been working long hours at my normal job trying to build a few games, but I expect it will be worth it in the end.

      More Overlooked Holidays

Things are going pretty well for us. Unfortunately, the ERB is still on a rampage. Apparently he sued a single mother of two for $1200 over a fridge that Grandpa gave her when hers broke down.

The fridge had broken, she was out of money, and she didn't know what to do. Grandpa chose to help her out without her request. They had already gotten the poor girl fired when it happened.

My wife's good aunt is trying to figure out how to pay the girl back. She has vowed to do so if she ever gets any inheritance money. . . not likely to happen. I am betting he's got it all planned out so that only he gets anything. I am betting that as soon as all else is taken care of, even those who are "beside" him right now will not get a dime. It would just be too easy for him to do since they already owe money on their inheritance as is.

Looks like he's already found ways to not give us what we are supposed to get. Kind of a relief in a way. What would I do with stolen money?

    • Valentine's Day

Valentine's went much better this year than last. Didn't do anything big, but just kept my mind on it all day, and kept coming up with stuff. I emailed her a little poem in the morning when I got to work. Then I sent an e-card in the middle of the day during lunch. Showed up at home with flowers and chocolates, then recited another small poem I made up during dinner.

The only sad thing was that we had planned a dinner party with one of her life-long friends and her husband, but their car would not start, so it was just us.

In the end, she still said it was the best valentine's day ever and she felt very loved. I was very happy she felt that way because I truly do love her.

BTW - too late for this year - but just remember the 15th is National Singles Awareness Day. So, if you've got nothing going for you on the 14th, go party your heart out on the 15th! We were going to do something for that overlooked holiday, but it didn't pan out. I'll post again on our next unobserved holiday!

    • Sick. Sick. Sick.

That's what we all are over here. The last two weeks have been horrible. Started with my oldest daughter, then my wife, then my youngest daughter, then me. Although my worst bit was Wednesday and Thursday causing me to miss work. Our new Jr. Programmer (who is really great, btw) got sick late Thursday and was gone Friday when I finally came back in. At least I am no longer the only one, so they always had a tech person there at least. That was good.

Anyway, so we are starting to feel better over all, but this strain of Martian Death Flu leaves you with a hacking cough for another two weeks or so. So, while we all feel better for the most part, we now live at the House of Symphonic Coughing. It sounds a bit like when Ferris Bueller played the coughs and hacks on his synthesizer. We each have our own pitch, and one person coughing seems to trigger everyone else off. Harmonized coughing. Let me tell ya, it sounds great. :P

    • Still unpacking

We are still in the process of unpacking. Not surprising. There is less of a rush to unpack than there is to pack. Things are quiet here.

My Dad, the hero, got the ERB to sign a paper stating that he was going to call off the suit and not come after us for any "damages." Not sure if it will work as he has gone back on legal agreements in the past, but my dad filed it with the courts so at least the signed statement is on record. I just keep hoping that my dad did not inadvertently put himself in a dangerous position trying to protect us. If he gets hurt, then things will have to get seriously personal.

Otherwise, I am just hoping that things continue to improve overall. No one dangerous knows where we moved to, and we hope it stays that way for a long time. The neighborhood is great and the house is fabulous. And it insulated. I get to walk into a warm house when I get home from work. It is awesome!!

Well, we made it. Just a few things are in the old place, but overall it is done and we are moved in!!! Yea!!! We are happy to be here and the neighbors seem pretty nice. We have only met a few of them. A little girl from across the street came and helped us move in as well. Unfortunately my wife and kids were off at the other house, but she really was a great kid, and turned out to be a good help las well. She carried more than her fair share of boxes to various rooms in the house.

Anyway, we are happy to be here and hope this place will turn out better here than the last!!

    • To Hell With This, I'm Gone!

Well, the ERB struck back last night with a Bond notice thingy. Basically, it means that if we do not respond within 3 three days, he has the right to start trucking our stuff away, and then we would have to pay extra $$ to get our stuff back. We plan to respond with something along the lines of us not being in default of any contract (cuz we're not!) and point out to the courts that we have already agreed to move, and he is simply being malicious and wasting everyone's time. That should buy us until at least Monday, but at any rate, WE ARE MOVING TOMORROW!! WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

That's right after two gut-wrenching days of waiting and hoping, we received word this morning that we can move into the place we wanted. We were able to get to the rental company's office and sign the papers and everything. Movers are coming in the morning. They will start the process, and it might actually take us through Saturday to move, but by the end of Friday (the deadline from the aforementioned papers) most everything should be out, and with luck all of it will be.

Ok, the great thing is that the new place is WAY better than this one. 4 bedrooms, the master is HUGE, a full unfinished basement for storage (something we desperately need) a large living area and the utilities are going to be far lower. The current place we are in has such poor insulation that in the thick of summer and winter heating and cooling costs get to about $300 - $350. The new place, well, the heater was turned really low and it was still comfortable on the cold nights we visited. We turned on the heater for 5 minutes tonight (we took over a few preliminaries), and it got too hot. We had to shut it off and open the doors. So, I am way excited about the new place and feel it will be far better than this place. It has been good for a while, but it is time to move on!

Well, gotta get some sleep. Big day starting early tomorrow.

Well, it's live. It has been a lot of work, and there are a few more things to do, but the bulk is ready to rock!

As far as personal life goes, we hope to have arranges for a new place within the next couple of days. It's not the same place I posted about last time, but this new one is better. I will go into more detail if we move in. Don't want to jinx it - but keep your fingers crossed for me (or pray, or do whatever else you feel will help us out). Not overly worried, but when a rental application asks how long you have been renting and for how much, and you've had "special circumstances" for a while, if just makes me nervous.

Also, I got to conduct my first interview at work (BTW, we are looking for a Junior Programmer) the other day. The guy had strong promise, but there are other factors that the higher-ups have to consider, so we'll see what happens.

This next week is going to be a gut-wrencher. Hoping for so much and diving in with so much uncertainty. But, if I don't post for a while, then that means that we are probably in the middle of moving, which is a good thing. I was not really expecting it right now, but hey, if ERB wants to take over paying for the place and allow us to move into a much bigger place, I'm totally cool with that. I'm sure it is for the best. We've actually been wanting out for a while, but have been staying out of duty. Now that duty has been forced away from us. Let someone else deal with it. I'm done.

    • Evil Rat Bastard

Ok, so the Evil Uncle has reared his ugly head. (Seriously, everyone agrees he looks more like a rat every year. He should shave that mustache.)

Anyway, so he calls and leaves a message on my phone on Monday saying that he has control of the condo and would like to "discuss our needs," Well, first things first, pinhead. We needed to verify that he was even telling the truth because he's tried stuff like this before and he had precisely dick. Also, I'm working late hours and don't have time to call the ______ (fill in the blank, be creative)!!! Additionally, we had to see what our options were before I was going to "discuss my needs" with a lying rat face like him.

Turned out he was kind of right, but I still didn't have time to call him. Anyway, so after another late night on Wednesday, my wife and I come home to find a paper taped to our door stating that we have five days to move out. WTF? We were upset and started calling people. My wife was reading the notice to someone and noticed it was dated October 21st - - - 1998. Huh, now THAT's planning ahead. Know where I was in 1998? Australia! Not even married.

Anyway, we are actually fine to move out, but the five days thing is a little ridiculous. . . and probably illegal. Not to mention just plain, well, rat bastard-like. So, it's totally not happening. Additionally, I just barely paid the property taxes last week. I'm just betting he was waiting for THAT expense to be taken care of before trying anything. Bastard. (And I mean the word semi-literally as he has lied to and betrayed his father, and effectively dishonored his family name. He shouldn't have that name. He doesn't deserve a name that used to be synonymous with honor and loyalty.)

Ok. so, despite my rantings, I actually am in pretty good spirits. We looked at a place today and the lady showing us around said the place is well built (something this place is NOT) and that utilities were about $50 each! That means that they are paying TOTAL for all their utilities what I pay for electricity alone for reasons of poor insulation. I'm hoping I can get a home lone and get out of here and into a place like that. Actually, if we got into it, I could ride a bicycle to work, it is so close - further saving money on gas, plus we would be buying instead of renting. Oh, man, I hope this works out. . . or at least something similar. We're looking at a few places right now that could be a really good upgrade for our family. Honestly, while this place has been good to get us through the initial hard times of me getting through school, etc., we have really out-grown it and I look forward to moving. I look forward to getting a place we can call our own. More importantly, I look forward to getting our kid's bunk bed out of our bedroom!
