Thanks for your comment on my 'project'. I'm doubful that I'll ever actually 'wear' the gown. I'm not an exhibitionist and there is very little 'call' for someone dressed like a petite elf to show up!

...pretty good, considering I had a heart attack on May 13th. I got three stents in one artery and feel better than I have in years. Losing weight, too, which is good. Lost about 24 pounds, already. :)

...sorry to hear you can't come, next year. I'll put you up! Lots of cool stuff to see around here. Just come!

Thanks for the link and the thought! I still love that song and the 'promise' it tells of! I use that as my ring tone on my cell phone!
How are you enjoying the new house?

Possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard outside of the Army is Napolitano's "The system worked." WTFO?

Oh, and hahahhaha! I just saw 670-1 and FM-1 on your reading list! Nice! smiley0.gif

I'm beginning to think that my parents had it right, corporal punishment, no TV, certainly no video games (weren't invented yet) and lots of fresh air, exercise - and plenty of chores to keep us 'busy'. No time that way to turn into hoodlums with no respect for other people's property.

truth be told...I do like the XD series...got a chance to handle the XD.40 myself....only thing I didn't like was the fact that it's pretty hard to tell whether the hammer/plunger is armed or not without touching it....which is something I'd rather not have to second guess

I agree that four hours is not exactly 'in your backyard' - but nor is it as 'difficult' as 1200. My kids grew up that far away from any extended family - they being in MA and we in FL. So, my kids got a 'skewed' sort of 'spoiling' - we went to Disney a lot, and Sea World a lot and Cypress Gardens too - back when it was still open.

Just remember who their Dad is.

I thought that was the Grandparent's primary duty, to spoil the Grandkids absolutely rotten. I may have another chance coming up around December 11. We'll see what new mischief can be created at that time. smiley0.gif

thanks for the pic mods! i was reading through your journals...i'm sorry you had to sell the boat and all. are you loving the model A though? it's beautiful!!

also, re the med issues, the South Beach Diet is working for my Insulin resistance...maybe it would help with the diabetes? get you off the injections? the first two weeks are hard, but after that it gets a lot easier! is the back injury service related? my hubby was USAF for 6 years and when he got out he had (has?) a compression fracture of his spine.

Working on my 'project' is what is keeping me sane. I can't do much about the stress at my job, or figure out how to motivate my son - so I really really need an outlet. Thanks for stopping by and commenting - can't wait to see what you do with the old car! smiley12.gif

We got 6 inches on Saturday day and night and it all melted Sunday, only to snow another 6 inches yesterday, however the temps are cold enough only a little of it melted yesterday! I parked the car on the street and used the van out of the garage--no scraping at 4:30AM to take kid to work! LOL All wheel drive works great in the snow!

I agree - it really hurts to watch our government throw "our" money to the very people who lost billions of it in the first place - through poor decisions and risk taking with "our" money. smiley4.gif

    • TheEvenStar

Yeah - my absolute favorites (after kermit of course smiley8.gif ) were the 'full body' puppets - like 'Sweetums" - I loved Beeker and Dr. Bunson Honeydew, the Sweedish Chef, so many more.... Miss Jim Henson - miss the muppets.... anime just doesn't have the same warmth!

Why do you want to sell / sink your boat? Not fun anymore?

    • TheEvenStar

It is fun - even with normal 'family' bickering - having my daughter & her boyfriend here is a treat. I miss them living so far away (PA). My son is the other RVB'er - so just getting family together is a mini-convention!

yeah... but if I'm turning wrenches on my trucks in a few years, either I'm really bored, or we have a serious manpower issue

    • bikemancs

yeah man, I would have loved to see a torque wrench on some of those things... and thank god for breaker (cheater) bars... gotta love the Laws of Physics when they benefit you... still, we had a couple that had to really hammer on the cheater bar to get loose... damn...

    • bikemancs

haha... quiet you... you ever have to break CARC paint on a brand new truck that has never had those bolts removed?

I miss a good fire. I wanted to burn the house down on my land but they say that's illegal

Check your local laws close, if you don't file for insurance it wouldn't be arson. If it doesn't damage anyone's property then its not doing harm to others. You might get a ticked for open fire if you're in a fire ban.

I have actually seen people burn down old houses and as long as no one gets hurt then you're ok. LOL..not that I'm encouraging this type of activity.
