      Vancouver.

I have fallen in love with beautiful Vancouver.

Today, I hired a bike and a helmet, and rode to nearby Stanley Park.

Such a beautiful slice of Canada.

I arrived yesterday morning, and am here for 5 nights.

Has anyone else spent time in this part of the world? smiley13.gif

      Germany vs Argentina.

I took a punt today in San Francisco, and decided to watch the World Cup final game at an outdoors place, where they had the game broadcast on to two separate screens, with one screen for each set of supporters.

After the German victory, I looked up an appropriate place to celebrate. The nearby Biergarten seemed appropriate.

I am so glad I went, as I had a blast celebrating with so many World Cup fans.

      July in North America.

      My travels in North America.

      Sydney (home) to Austin.

I had a blast in Austin. A bunch of journals forth coming regarding being a Guardian, food locations I loved, and how I replaced my Fit4RTX plan with Fat4RTX.

      Austin to Las Vegas.

Vegas was fun, won at craps, saw the Beatles Love show, and generally had a brilliant time.

      Las Vegas to San Francisco.

San Francisco is truly beautiful, and very chilly for July. Splurged and purchased a sexy new camera lens, and a winter hoodie (!)

      F227B7D4-1B3D-4F69-B487-3C4F0C8E1C41.jpg

      San Francisco to Seattle.

Next, I am travelling North to Seattle.

      Seattle to Vancouver.

      Then a week in Canada.

      Vancouver to Sydney.

Finally, the party is over, and I return to Sydney.

The last time I travelled to the States, I experienced Austin and San Diego Comic Con. (2012)

This year I have been winging it, and loving it.

This is not my RTX 2014 journal.

This is not my RTX 2014 journal.

Not my RTX photo journal. The images are still on my camera.

Not my journal about the Smørgen Hekkengärd picture. That is an great story, and will be told.

I am not writing about how awesome it was to be a Guardian.

Not my bit about finally getting Gus's staff award.

Not writing about SideQuest yet. So much fun.

I am not talking yet about how awesome @sirNARVY and @SailorTweek are. Chris and Mary, we could not have done it with out you!

No mention yet of all the wonderfull food and booze I enjoyed during my stay in Austin.

Instead, I will simply say that I love you guys and gals, and hope to do it all again next year.

      Cheers, Matt.

      Next stop: Las Vegas

      Next stop: Las Vegas.

I am going to miss Austin terribly, but what I am going to miss the most is the congregation of my fantastic friends that came to here for Roosterteeth's annual convention RTX.

Goodbye you wonderful city, but it is my friends, and the people that I met here in the last 8 days that I will miss the most.

What a wonderful, time. I have a lot of journals to write, about my fellow Guardians, the food, people, the Smørgen Heckkengärd picture, and more.

      2dc731000ab119dcb99178ab42588ddb.jpg

For now, goodbye Austin, and bring on Las Vegas.

      Walking around today.

Over the past few days in Austin, the number of attendees/guardians/exhibitors arriving has grown exponentially.

On my first day here, zero sightings. Day 2, a handful. Day 3, about ten Guardians. Yesterday, I guess I met over 60.

Today, Wednesday, I will wear a Rooster Teeth shirt this morning while walking around, and see how many people I can pick today.

RTX is so close, I can almost touch it.

I almost do not want RTX to be this weekend, because when it is over, I will be leaving Austin, and that makes me sad.

If you see me, do not be shy, and come say Hi. Believe me, I have been preparing to say hi to you.

      Smørgen Heckkengärd.

My gift for Burnie is ready.

Last month in Sydney, I got Nikolaj Coster-Waldau to sign and personalise a photo.

      To Burnie

      Nikolaj

And then he wrote "Smørgen Hekkengärd" along the length of his sword in the picture.

He told me that those words do not make sense in Danish, but hey, that's Burnie's joke.

Transported to Austin in a cardboard tube, I picked it up from a framing studio in Austin, and had it gift wrapped in the Lannister colours. Crimson red, with gold trim.

      Ffzrv0I.png

      The card reads:

      "To Burnie,

      Smørgen Hekkengärd

      sends his regards,

      Matt Corry."

      GEzOD7cl.jpg

Next step is to give it to Burnie at some point during RTX.

      What do you all think?

(Turns out that the umlauts do not encode correctly on rtxevent.com so best read this journal at roosterteeth.com)

      Update : Tuesday 8th July.

Burnie has sent me a DM on twitter, informing me that Smørgen will find his way into the Podcast set. I could not be happier.

      Good morning Austin.

For my first breakfast in Austin, I have used the amazing RT SideQuest guide to select where to eat this morning.

I like the description and reviews of Easy Tiger : Bake Shop & Beer Garden.

Which is a seven minute walk from where I am staying. Then off to get some SIM cards.

I sent your Cards Against Humanity package out today. 8 to 10 days, they said. Let me know when it gets to you :) And thank you for the full set of Cards Against Humanity. We hadn't bought it yet, so this was a welcomed addition to our game collection smiley12.gif
Happiest of Holidays to you and yours!

Thank you so much for sending the package to me. They are impossible to get legally in Australia, and I am certain to enjoy playing them with my Rooteeth friends over the summer holidays.

Meeting both you and your husband in the hotel lobby a few nights prior to RTX was a special surprise, and I hope to spend more time with you next year at RTX 2013.

I completely forgot about Supernova! Say hello to everyone for me!

As for Operation: Tasmanian Devil or Project: Lil' Burnie (how about combine the two: Trek: Tasmanian Burnie), I completely understand.

Have fun, enjoy yourself and have more fun!

Life down under is going well. I am currently in Brisbane Queensland for Supernova Expo with, Kathleen, Chris and Kerry. In a few days, I fly north to Cairns to observe the solar eclipse. After that I fly down to Adelaide for the Supernova there.

Operation: Tasmanian Devil, or as I some times call it 'Project: Lil' Burnie' has been delayed until early next year. Work, finances, and weather have all played elements in this necessary delay.
