Well, I'm not a great fan of "best of" reels, I really prefer to watch Red vs. Blue moments in their original context within the series, as non-stop quote-upon-quote loses something, it's about pacing, I think -- sometimes comedy is about having the right length of gap between jokes, action is often about having the right amount of suspense between action scenes.

I guess it's a bit like having gravy without the meal that the gravy is meant to be poured on, sort of thing.

Ah, so basically a "Doc and Omega's best moments" reel then.

So... was that a yes or a no?

I would, I really would, but I've not known you for all that long, I was kinda thinking someone I've known for a while, like, who I've actually seen or would tell really private stuff.

Sorry smiley2.gif I was kinda forgetting that I'd added a few new friends recently. I've known most of the people I know here for a year or two now.

Well, by posting on the Doc thread, contributing to the community, that sort of thing.
I've actually been meaning to promote some people, but I haven't had the time.

There's the "DOC application journal" and there's the blog on the DOC group. You can get to them both through the group, the application journal has a link on the group description.

It's the rank, as shown in the DOC blog. There are five ranks.
      - Consciencious Objector
      - P A C I F I S T
      - Alien Babysitter
      - Fully Egalitarian
      - Medical Super Private (First Class)

Conscientious Objector is the basic rookie rank, Medical Super Private (first class) is the top rank. They're all according to things Doc has been or has said he is.

Brandon was the only one I could find online. He hasn't replied.
I'll try Gav, Might have to ask Geoff when he's back from Comic-Con. He'd know more about the store, I think. He's been helpful in the past.

I went "..." because I was like "Isn't it practically the same country?"

Anyway, I've got to log off, so I'll chat later if that's okay.

No, I mean it's not a problem you live in Scotland.

I was just saying that there wouldn't be much difference in the TV, because it's all BBC, and ITV, and Channel 4, etc.

You're in Scotland, I'm pretty sure the viewing differences are just regional programmes. I've not heard of "Still Game" but then I'd not heard of "Drop The Dead Donkey" until about a year ago, or "Shameless" until about a month ago.
I'm kind of a nerd. I tend to watch things with "Star" in the title, unless they also have the word "Pop" or "Search" in them.

Why not? It's quicker. I'm a bit of a cheek like that.
Ross Bambrey of Strange Company got his job by emailing Hugh Hancock and saying "Give us a job, I can do it."
I think next to that, asking ant online staff member about the store's return policy is fairly mundane.

    • DocRossim

Hmm, could do I guess... or Geoff is quite helpful, I'll see who's online.

    • DocRossim

I'm not sure what the returns policy is, you'd best check the store site.

    • DocRossim

No prob. That actually helped me, since I was thinking of buying the DVDs myself at some point.
I think I'm going to order the Strangerhood first though, as its on sale, and check it works properly on everything.

    • DocRossim

      Will do.
If you've got a TV that can adjust between 50Hz and 60Hz you should be okay. You can check because some games have an option where they can be played in 50 or 60Hz, if the 60Hz option is fuzzy and black and white, that's what RvB will look like, if it looks okay, it'll be fine.

    • DocRossim

You can join Doc soon as the Groups are back up.

      Gavin had this to say:
"Yeah the DVDs are region free so they will play on pretty much any UK dvd player/xbox 360/pc.
I have never had a problem with any of them."
I've heard a lot of accounts of certain DVD players not liking them, but if they're fine on PCs and x-boxes that should be fine for you.

I use "DocRossim" for everything, except modthesims2.com, where I'm "The_Simlander".

Haven't made a movie in a while, don't have much time these days.

    • DocRossim

Well, region is different from encoding -- see, Europe, South-America, Australia and New Zealand all use the PAL codec, which works at 50 Hertz, but Australia and New Zealand use region three, whereas Europe, including the UK, use region 2, so a regionalized DVD from Europe can't be played in Australia, but a region-free DVD from Europe would be able to be played in Australia.

Similarly, America uses NTSC, which works at 60 Hertz. as does Japan, usually you wouldn't be able to play an American DVD in Japan, but if it's region-free you can.

The only way you can play a PAL DVD in America or Japan would be to have a special PAL-compatible DVD player, the only way to play NTSC DVD anywhere except America or Japan would be to have a special NTSC-compatible DVD player.

Burnie, Goeff and Matt: you need to get their attention in some way, send them something amusing, impressive or flattering, or all three, and ask politely if it is worthy of their prestigious award. I sent them all fan-art: Super-Burns, Phaero Ramsey the Great and a "cookies" shirt design respectively.

Gus, Jason and Dan are harder to get awards from, you need to seriously impress them, or make them laugh. One way I found of getting Gus's award is to send something to Esther that she finds amusing, and she'll nag Gus into giving you an award. I did a comic of when Gus's pain-medication gave him short-term memory loss and did a number of fan-art pics for Jason including him rocking out on his guitar, several Tucker quote shirt designs and a "brownies" shirt design, Dan I sent... what did I send Dan? Something funny... might have been my "doughnuts" shirt design, but I also sent some fan-pictures of him, can't remember what I actually got awarded for.

Joel's award you can pretty much just ask for politely and he'll give it to you, but I also made him a banner and a fan-picture.

Kat's award is special -- you have to do a good deed and then tell her about it, then, if she deems you worthy, you get her award.

Nico's award I got for making my "A Girl Named Tex" music video (as seen on youtube and Machinima.com)
Obviously not everyone can make a music video, so I don't know what else you could do for his award... generally something flattering works.

Presumably the brits on the RT team would know...
      Hmm...
I'm going to go ask Gavino.

    • DocRossim

I don't even know if they'll work on a PC. I've been trying to find someone in the UK who had the RvB DVDs and can tell me what devices they work on.

    • DocRossim

      ...
I posted a thread ages ago about the fact that all the Rooster Teeth DVDs are NTSC and so only work with NTSC-compatible equipment, which was the point, they don't work with most EU DVD players. You can get NTSC-compatible DVD players in Europe, and since the RT DVDs are regionless they will play on those, but on a lot of DVD players in Europe they won't play. Current campaigns to try to get Red vs. Blue in PAL have been unsuccessful, so I gave up in the end and decided just not to buy the DVDs unless I got myself an NTSC compatible DVD player.

I hope that answered your question.

Yep, I'm also the submissions moderator. The reason why I was asking was because I tried to find some achievements, but couldn't. We only approve games that have achievements.
