I have to go for good...I will miss you all.

If it makes you less sad
I will die by your hand
I hope you find out what you want
I already know what I am
And if it makes you less sad
      We'll start talking again
And you can tell me how vile
I already know that I am

      Call me a safe bet
      I'm betting I'm not
I'm glad you that can forgive
      Only hoping as time goes
      You can forget

      mikoumi

I went to the Suburban Legends/Big D/Less Than Jake show in Dallas last night. I got sucked into the pit right where some ass hole spilled his beer and I almost fell down. Luckily some fucker broke my fall with his elbow and now it hurts to move my arm. ;; Other than that it was a pretty sweet show.

My boyfriend is getting here this afternoon to move in and after that we won't be far apart for weeks/months on end ever again. That is kind of weird to think about.

    • Well...it's a raise at least....

      mikoumi

*Note: check middle of post to understand the poll.

My raise was 50 cents. This puts me at about 7/hr. It's alright I guess, but it is the same amount as this new kid who just started working there is making. This kind of pisses me off because the kid is 18 and this is his first job...He is pretty much incapable of it. For example, the director tells him to tilt up the camera in the studio, and he trucks the camera left...And he has no experience with how the news business works. But whatever...a raise is a raise. And it's supposedly not the last one we will get this year.

In other news, I am having my soul sucked out of me slowly through the vile devil we call corporate media going full time starting Monday. We'll see how this goes. Pretty much I will go in an hour and a half early every day and stay an extra hour on my dinner break. On top of the promos I am taking over from Dell, and all the behind the scenes vids/web tutorial vids I do, this shouldn't be a problem. Oh except for the ever more increasing lack of....what's that word....oh yeah, sleep.

And the ever more increasing lack of interaction with all of you. <3

My boyfriend is down here....did I ever tell you the story of me and Zach? Let's poll this one up...at the top of the post, because I don't know how to put a poll in the middle. Can you even do that?

Well he is moving down here from Kansas....He found a house yesterday and is supposed to get a call back to see if he is the winning applicant. The house is pretty sweet and it has a little guest room separate from the house with electrical hookups, a washer and dryer, and air conditioning...can you say music room? It's a 2 bed/one bath with hardwood floors. Pretty awesome. I'm supposed to move in with him in the spring semester but I am getting really sick of my parents really quick, so I may move in with him sooner. If all goes as planned, he should be living down here next week...It's scary and exciting at the same time. I can only imagine how freaked out he must be. He's lived in Wichita all his life.

Anyway, I have to get back to writing this script.

      I <3 all of you, I promise! :) *e-hug*

      mikoumi

I've always wondered how much more productive I would be if for like one night a week I just didn't sleep. Think about it...that extra eight hours to get shit done. Would I be more productive with the added time, or would I ultimately be less productive from being tired?

Well, looks like I am going to find out, because I have to have this slide show presentation for a family friend's anniversary done by tomorrow afternoon and I am definitely not through with it....

Yay screwing up my body! ...for SCIENCE!

      mikoumi

Just very very busy....and I have a feeling it's not going to lighten up any time soon.

I FINALLY got a band together! I put up an ad on craigslist for a bassist and drummer for a ska band. These two guys who were friends replied to it. They are Warren and Rendell and they kick ass. We all have that...musician connection where we have only met like three times but it feels like we've known each other a lot longer. I got a call a few days after we got the band together. This other guy Cory found my ad but we didn't have room for him. However, we keep in touch because he is an awesome ska kid...

My weekdays lately have consisted of work, with homework on my dinner breaks. About six or seven of my friends all got a summer job at the movie theater so Thursday nights our entire group of friends gets in free to movie previews. We do theme nights, such as dress night, rock star night, and hippie night. I'll post some photos later!

Fridays I'm either practicing with my new band or hanging out with Crystal. Last Friday I went to Elisa's fundraiser for this local tv show she's in, then afterwards I drove all the way up to Killeen to chill with my band members. I didn't get home until 4 a.m. x.x;; Then I got up at 8 the next day for our Saturday morning practice, which Crystal had to leave early from for work. We then went up to visit her at work, and that was fun....then I had work. >> Afterward, I went with Crystal to Cory's show with his band Property of Steve. It was at their drummer's house. They have an awesome 90's punk rock sound, and they said if we ever want to share the stage with them, we have a show. It was weird because we all kind of know each other in a way. Crystal's boyfriend knows the guitarist, and we all used to go to the same shows in Waco when we had a small cretin pop scene, and we all knew the same people who put on the shows. Their guitarist, Philip, let me play on his stack which was baaadaaassss. And their drummer, Frank, had this awesome Tama Rock Star with two bass drums and like six toms....It was fun....I want to buy a set again! Haha. Everyone like freaked out when I played and acted like I was amazing, but I think they were all just drunk. Frank was filming me and was like "SIGN MY STICKS!!" and I was like "Dude you're not gonna care in the morning." Haha. I think he was mostly just amazed that I was a chick...playing drums...and not sucking. But dude, I didn't get home until like 4 again this night.

This Sunday I actually was off from work! \o/ They tried to call me in because Kenneth had an appendectomy but I was like fucks no. Too bad I spent the entire day doing homework for my internet class which was due at midnight...I didn't even finish all of it. >>;; Too much partying!!

But seriously, I've been out until four almost every night for various reasons....and getting up extremely early the next day for various reasons....Last Wednesday my mom and I had this big fight over lunch at her work over my beliefs. Imagine us in the middle of a hospital cafeteria, my mom shouting that I am a socialist Hitler-esque heathen, and me shouting that my beliefs should be respected and not attacked by a close-minded hypocrite....Yeah we got some stares. I avoided my parents for the rest of the day, to the point that I ended up hiding out in a Star Bucks attached to Barnes and Noble...and paid four dollars for internet. >>;;; Right after the fight I needed to go talk to someone so I went to go see Crystal at work...she works at Mardel Christian Book Store....ironic. I didn't really get to talk about it there because we sat in the back on her lunch break and her manager was there. But I talked to her on my dinner break from work, so it was cool. That night I knew once I got home my mom would want to start a fight and I just didn't want to put up with it...I was exhausted mentally and physically, both from my mother and from my hellish day at work (it was AWFUL but I won't bore you with details). So I slept over at Crystal/Jenn's but it was really hot and uncomfortable on the trundle bed so I left to go home around 3:30....I tried to sneak in the back way but the fucking dog woke up and barked at me, so my mom got up...and she started an argument about-get this-whether or not I told her that I had my internship in the morning. It was fucking 4 a.m...and I had a terrible day...I just wanted to sleep for a few hours...and she wanted to argue about whether or not I had my internship in the morning.

If that's not enough, Thursday I crashed at Elisa's after the movie because I had to go film some stuff for work the next morning at 9....I went to bed at 4, and got up at 7 to go back to my place and get my video camera. I tried to nap for a half an hour in the bath room, but my dad woke me up and started arguing with me about....god knows what....I was half asleep. Something about staying out late....a cordless phone being lost...I think he tried to give me a 12 o clock curfew but I just laughed at him because...seriously....I'm 20....and not to mention I don't even get off work until 11. I don't know what this obsession is with my parents and fighting with me early in the mornings when I am super tired.

This whole religion thing got me realizing that my parents aren't going to accept me until I become a straight laced conservative Christian. They think that I am just going through a phase. I didn't even want them to know about my beliefs, but my sister is super smart and just blurted it out to them one day without my permission. But even with this whole band thing, they didn't want me practicing over here, but they've never had a problem with it before. They always said I could have band practices here, but once I get a band together, they say no....They finally gave into that, but only on weekends.

Anyway....I do have a recording the band doing Johnny, which is badass. I will post it on YouTube at some point.

Right now, here is all of the shit I have going on...I am working on three projects...continued in comments...

I''m not sure what sort of espresso machine it is. I thought it only used steam for milk.
It's a small one from starbucks.

And no my dad doesn't really listen to that sort of music generally. But when i played it he kept asking me the bands names and said he liked most of em and it's a great CD.
Normally he listens to classical, jazz and world music. With the occasioinal Audioslave and Mike Doughty CD.

    • BloodySparow

well not the trick I'm thinking of... but a well known one.

I've really enjoyed using it for cool texturing of chords, not so much lead (I'm not a lead sort of guy...)

    • BloodySparow

      oh...

kk, checked my telecaster... it's not a normal one, fairly souped up but I think the concept is still the same....

allen wrench for the attack..and small screw drivers for the pickups

whammy bar much? I recorded this one thing not too long ago, it's awesome to use a whammy bar on ska and reggae, not for solos, but like, strum a chord, hold it down, and as it's ringing, use the bar! Full chord pitch bend! If I had a bigsby whammy tail peice I'd pretty much just literally hit it percussively... on the fender kind it was a bit hard to use in comparison... but still cool

    • BloodySparow

      cool beans...

but you know what they call a bassist who can't make practice?

      Unemployed.

NVM whatever the singer or guitarist does, if the bassist doesn't make practice he's typically out of a job. It's a sad unfair world...

Make sure he doesn't use a pick!!!

and let me know when you got it up

HAHA, RHCP was all I was chugging in high school, well not all, but when it came to playing that was it for me...
Thanks for listening, that Medication Nation is old, that was recorded back in high school... I'm surprised it's the first thing most people still reference as sound quality wise it's easily the worst song on there (Everything else was recorded a year later, still before I got into the sound recording program)... compared to now I had no idea what I was doing...

I like the song... I've heard worse( sound quality-wise), really you just need to get the bass amp and the vocal amp point towards and closer to the camera and you'd get a decent blend. (for a decent blend from a video camera and chance to laugh mercilessly at me check out the video section on the myspace)

But hey, if you ever need cheap (probably free if I can get into the studio at TSU in san marcos) let me know.

    • BloodySparow

      Thanks!

Right now... sort of, on one hand I'm collaborating with a few people over RT but local... no, I just got a call from a friend today who told me a band called exit wonderworld needed a bassist, and I said at the very least I would be interested in filling in short term if they needed a bassist for upcoming gigs, long term I would need more time to think on... He just called me today, so they'll probably call me in the near future...

I continue to be musically active as in the collaboration I'm working on I am pretty much writing everything but the lyrics and melodies... and recently I talked to another guy on RT about writing some parts for a horn section...

One thing I try to keep on my plate is mixing and recording local bands for cheaper prices than most (Probably all) studios to get some hands on experience... right now I'm actually taking a break from mixing some files a friend sent me.

Meh, when I watch movies, I usually decide if it's a good movie by the ten minute mark, and if I have decided it is not a good movie, I judge it solely on the entertainment value after that.

It makes movies much more enjoyable that way.
