These journals are just my thoughts and feelings on everything Rooster Teeth related within each month that I've decided to spew out in the form of words. This way, it's easier to look back on things that mattered to me, and us, whenever I, and we, try to remember these things.

Back in April, Achievement Hunter asked the Community to vote on what to let's play for RT Community Week in May. What the Community got was a GTA V Freeplay, 7 Days to Die with rules to make the video interesting, Prop Hunt: Obj Hunt featuring Brandon, Fuel Part 2, which is as terrible great as we all hoped, and Minecraft - Shopping List X. Not only that but on RT Community Day, they invaded the RT Store and had an AH AMA on the website. All in all, Achievement Hunter rocked RT Community Week!

Not only were AH awesome during RT Community Week, they were awesome during May as a whole. While it wasn't as memorable as some months, I can't think of many months that had consistently entertaining and funny videos. While some would disagree with me, I like the fact that the FunHaus guys are putting videos up on the Let's Play channel. To me, May stands as one of AH's strongest months of content, and no video/s showed this more than AH vs FunHaus in Smite. If you haven't watched it yet, watch the FH video before the AH video. All the hype for this to happen and it goes like that. This just about sums it up.

Due to a Visa issue, Gavin had to go back to England for a while but he got it sorted out. Soon after, it was announced that the AH guys were going to Germany for a week. Apparently they're visiting a game dev studio to play their MMO (I could be wrong), but they could be doing other stuff there. If there is, I'll mention it in next month's journal.

Given my inactivity again this month, let's wrap this up with the RT videos that stood out for me
      '¢ AH ASMR video
Let's Play - 3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures 2 Part 9, possibly Ray's last AH video
      Million Dollars, But...
'¢ On The Spot Season 3

On a side note, I only finished college just over two weeks ago and this Summer is already one of my best ever: a couple of drinking sessions with the lads, a "new" phone for my birthday, and I went to see Foo Fighters live! Hopefully it gets better. The reason this was out much later than my others is that I found it hard to motivate myself to do this. I'll try not to let that happen too often. If you feel I missed out on anything (it's through my eyes after all), feel free to comment what stood out to you, Rooster Teeth or Community content. I hope you enjoyed this, enjoy life, I love you all!

      Continued from part 1

So, a little backstory on the RT Ireland meetup Year 2: announced around January, it was originally meant to on the 14th of March, a day before RT Community Day and the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. However, with the Irish national rugby team playing a game that same day, the venue of Year 1, and most other places, would be accommodating for the match. With that, the venue was changed to The 51 Bar and the date was changed to the 11th of April. Seeing as how I missed out on Year 1 (I saw Barbara's post mentioning it the day before it was on), I was dead set on going this year, regardless of when it was. While the original date wasn't too disheartening (I ended up spending a fair bit of money around that weekend), the newer date suited me more as it was on during the Easter break, and I had project work for college finished so I was going up with no worries in the back of my mind.
I'm not sure if there was more at the event this year than last year but the event itself was great anyway and good craic was had throughout the day (constantly joking about Ray leaving). For most of the day, I was playing Cards Against Humanity with the same bunch of guys at one table. I can't remember their names but one of the guys was an Australian, who is from the RooTeeth Community, studying in Dublin for the year, and early on in the day we had RT Ireland organiser and admin Jewvion playing with us. I took part in a Pokémon tournament in which I won my first match against a guy named Brandon but lost the following match to, eventual winner of the tournament, Robert. It was first time playing Pokémon competitively, you could tell, but I held my own in two closely fought matches. Big thanks to the organisers for setting up the tournament and apologies again for how long it took my first match to happen. Later on we had the raffle and then the table quiz, which went to a tie-breaker three times. The event was practically over by the time the quiz was finished so we didn't get to do an AHWU intro like at the Year 1 meetup. Here (and down below) is a video from the event (that's me doing the jazz hands) and here is where you can see photos from the event.
Some of the people, myself included, stayed at the bar afterward for drinks and more craic. While I was talking to the group, at one point I had a good chat with another of the RT Ireland organisers and admin EoinOR, I realised that most of them were doing / just did their Leaving Cert. Makes me feel old :( Before I knew it, the time had flown by and if it wasn't for theBreen and his friend Barra leaving, I wouldn't have noticed that I only had half an hour before my bus back home left! We had a good chat on the way and I took a photo with them before I ran to get my bus. Shoutout to Miriam and TylerKelly10, the other RT Ireland organisers and admins who hosted the meetup, and the final RT Ireland organiser and admin who wasn't able to show up this year Neil. Thanks for the great day and hopefully we'll chat some more, both here and in person.

Finally, the RT videos that stood out for me
      Stage 5 Facility Tour
      Minecraft 151 - Brown Out
How To: I am Bread Real Life Edition
WE LOVE CARTOONS - Art Haus!
FUNHAUS VS CREATURES - 3v3 in CS GO Gameplay

This took longer than expected, oh well. As I was typing this, I was working on an overdue project which will depend on whether I repeat this last year of college or not. NO PRESSURE! May will be another month of inactivity on the site again due to me studying for my end of year exams but I should be on more than I have been over the last few months. Once I'm done though, I'll be free all summer (yay!) because I don't have a job (boo!). I hope you enjoyed this, enjoy life, I love you all!

These journals are just my thoughts and feelings on everything Rooster Teeth related within each month that I've decided to spew out in the form of words. This way, it's easier to look back on things that mattered to me, and us, whenever I, and we, try to remember these things.

So April Fool's Day came and went and Rooster Teeth marked their 12th birthday with the release of Shaft Shots! The Dick Pic App. Yes it is real, I've seen the app in action (someone was showing it off, I swear!). Not only that, the RT Store also celebrated with 12% off all purchases for until the 12th. Maybe they'll keep that trend up: can't wait for their 50th birthday, I'll buy and wear all the clothes even when I'm an old fart!

Of course the biggest news this month was Ray leaving Rooster Teeth to take up streaming full time. Those who cared were devastated by the news and were all hoping it was just a late April Fools Joke. However, the 17th of April marked Ray's last day as an Achievement Hunter and many RT fans wept into their roses. He has stated that he will be around now and again for videos besides X-Ray and Vav Season 2 and will still be going to RTX 2015. The one Ray of light (see what I did there..... ok, I'll stop) from this is that he has left on good terms and the fans showed their love when they donated in their droves during his first stream post-AH. While Ray wasn't my fav AH member (ALL HAIL THE MAD KING!), I still appreciated his contribution to RT and AH and enjoyed him thoroughly, even if his enthusiasm was killed every time he played Minecraft! We love you Ray, enjoy your new career.

Speaking of departures, Kara also announced this month that she had left Rooster Teeth and was working as an Executive Assistant at an animation studio. I was wondering why she hadn't shown up in RT content for a few months and her journal shed light on her absence. However, much like Ray, she said she'd show up every now and again along with her work as Weiss in RWBY. All I can say really is congratulations on your new job Kara and the best wishes on your new endeavours.

While we saw at the end of March the FunHaus crew moving to their new office, it was this month that they finally made the move and settled in. They were even kind enough to give us a new Office Tour. 2015: the year of bullying Spoole. On a side note, the FunHaus YouTube channel passed 500,000 subscribers this month. Well done guy, you deserve it. Keep up the good work!

This month saw the the fallout and shitstorm that ensued from The Know and AngryJoe. For those who didn't see, AngryJoe posted a Mario Party video onto his channel, which soon got taken down by Nintendo due to AngryJoe not being a part of their creator program. Soon after, he uploaded a video ranting about Nintendo's Youtube policy. The Know reported on the story and AngryJoe later criticized their news along with Meg and Ryan about their views. Cue already pissed off AngryJoe fans and the RT Community to argue against, and amongst, each other. I never expressed my thoughts on the whole event when it happened so I thought I'd say them here: AnjryJoe was in the wrong and he should have known that. Yes, Nintendo's rights are stupid and shouldn't be there but they are so deal with it. While Meg and Ryan's tone in the video weren't exactly helping themselves, they never directly said that he was stupid, more his actions and reactions were. From what I can tell, there were no follow ups after this so this ordeal has, thankfully, fizzled out.

Over in part 2, I will be talking mostly about the RT Ireland meetup Year 2

These journals are just my thoughts and feelings on everything Rooster Teeth related within each month that I've decided to spew out in the form of words. This way, it's easier to look back on things that mattered to me, and us, whenever I, and we, try to remember these things.

This month was a lot more quiet compared to February, plus my lack of activity on the site due to college work means there isn't much (for me) to talk about.

The Lazer Team Official Trailer was released during March and put my earlier worries to rest. This trailer showed off much more of the other characters than the teaser did (I know I'm going to love Colton Dunn's character). Bar that, I've said all I needed to say about Lazer Team in last month's blog.

RTX 2015 tickets finally went on sale this month and I'm sure many have already been sold. If Trans-Atlantic flights weren't so expensive, I'd seriously consider going. I be jelly of all you handsome devils that get to go.

In the buildup to Season 13, Rooster Teeth launched the Red vs. Blue youtube channel with all 12 previous seasons available, making it even easier for RvB fans to watch. While I have watched the first few seasons and as much as I liked the humour, I haven't been able to get into the series(GASP!). I have to admit, though, that the Season 13 Trailer has piqued my interest in the show again, hopefully I get the time to watch some more.

Speaking of RT channels, The Slow Mo Guys broke half a billion views on their videos! It's amazing to think that this job was just meant to be a platform for Gav to work at Rooster Teeth and now it has ballooned into (I would imagine) a self-funding career and popularity outside of Rooster Teeth. Congrats Gav and Dan, keep up the solid work! Quick story, I found The Slow Mo Guys before I found Rooster Teeth. I'd say it was probably between one to two years I was watching Gav and Dan before I recognised Gav in the Cabbage Bowling video for Achievement Hunter. My mind was blown when I realised it (it didn't take long) and Gav was part of the reason I started watching AH and RT videos.

With me practically doing nothing on the site in March, let's move on to the RT videos that stood out for me
'¢ GTA Heists (AH & FH)
Gavin Free: Knife Thrower - RT Life - which leads to this
'¢ Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (AH & How To)
      FH DRUNKBORNE
      X-Ray & Vav Season 2 Intro

So yeah, much shorter than last month. While I do have an Easter break from college, I have projects to do during them and after that I have another project to do along with study for end of semester exams so I'll be on the website less than I was in March. I'll still post an April version of this and maybe some photos and a journal about the RT Ireland meetup I'm going to on the 11th. For now, I leave you with our Almighty Gus. I hope you enjoyed this, love you all!

      Continued from Part 1

Now comes the more personal part of this journal: my interaction with this website, and by extension the Community. Up to now (including February), my interaction with the Community has been..... sporadic at best, despite the fact I log on to the website practically every day since I signed up. Joined a few groups, commented on a few forum topics, took part in a couple of group Game Nights, that's about it. I suppose it's more down to my personality that I've been like this. I'm not exactly the most friendly person (I'm quite talkative in general, more so on things I know and like but if I feel the conversation won't really go anywhere else or I don't feel I should contribute, I stop in an instant), most of the time I'm just happy to be an observer. So why did I sign up to the website? I'm getting off topic and I feel I can answer that another time somewhere else. Back to the awesome Community :D I started making friends within the Community this month.touchmynubin was the first and at the start of the month. I'm guessing it went something like this: Nubin sees I'm up for another Game Night, he checks to see who I am, he sees my journal thanking him for a Game Night that I attended, he likes it, ???, profit! Seriously though, thanks a lot Nubin, hopefully we have better Game Nights than the last one with just the two of us and we can be epic Internet Bros together
      Internet_6a1157_290296.png
      ....maybe not as douchey
Next is the self-proclaimed Fishy queen caszielove96. She welcomed me to the Community when I first signed up, I thanked her, and she encouraged me to be active and not be afraid to ask questions. I should have known right there that she was welcoming, easy to talk to and active member of the Community. Me and my stupidity thought "Don't send a friend request the minute you sign up! Give yourself time to familiarise yourself with the Community." Now I know that Caszie wouldn't have minded at all; I mean, what's another +1 to her friends list :P Thanks Caszie for accepting my friend request, hopefully we get to talk to each other a lot more in the near future. Finally, I friend requested all the Funhaus crew, pretty much the moment they signed up to the website. While I don't expect any of them to use their accounts much, if at all, due to their constant working, I feel much happier knowing that I'm (kinda?) friends with guys whose content has always made me smile and laugh for nearly two years.

Now let's get to some fun stuff, shall we? Let's start with some RT "memes". After someone had decided to make Geoff's face from Shenanigans Episode 1 as their iPhone wallpaper, someone put that same face in a ball pit. The real star player this month, however, was Ryan. His muppet neck explanation on On The Spot led to this glorious image, Geoff, and the Community, got a Ryan grey matter picture, but the best, by far, was Ryan's face photoshopped as everyone! A little background: after Ryan disapproved of a new shirt design, Jon had to cut some corners. Soon, Jon let Ryan's head loose to the world, with wonderful results.

Speaking of On The Spot let's quickly wrap this month up with the RT videos that stood out for me
      RT Podcast #309
'¢ The return of On The Spot
'¢ LP Minecraft Episodes 142, 143, and 144 (Legends of Hidden Tower)
      LP Saints Row IV
      FH GTA IV mods
      Monty's passing '“ The Know

WHEW, that was a lot (three days of turning the mush called my brain into words), hopefully this is the start of something. I'll try to have these out the last day of the month I talk about or the the next day. I hope you enjoyed this, love you all!

These journals are just my thoughts and feelings on everything Rooster Teeth related within each month that I've decided to spew out in the form of words. This way, it's easier to look back on things that mattered to me, and us, whenever I, and we, try to remember these things. I know I have a hard time remembering what I did in my life last week, let alone the content that keeps me going throughout the weeks, months and years.

As an RT fan, I don't think February could have started any worse than it did (well, I can think of a few ways, but they're too extreme and unlikely). On the afternoon of the 1st of February, nine days after being hospitalized due a severe allergic reaction during a medical procedure, Monty Oum passed away at the age of 33. Many were, and I'd imagine still are, shocked that such a talented and hard-working individual has left this world far too early. I personally never got the chance to meet or talk to him and I was shaken for a few days upon hearing the news. However, the response from the RT Community was something else: the tributes, the online condolence cards, the fanart, the person(s) who left the rose petals outside the RT studio, and the $243,000 raised for Monty and Sheena. All of it and more showed me that Rooster Teeth isn't just a community, it's a family, and I couldn't be any prouder to be part of this family. I know that Monty isn't truly gone, he's remembered by those who saw his work (either individually or as part of Rooster Teeth), those he met, talked to, worked with, loved. His memory and legacy will live on in those he touched. Matt posted that in honour of Monty, do something creative to make the world a better place and, once I have the ability to do just that, I will. For now, all I can do is pay my respects to Sheena, Monty's family, the RT Staff and all who knew and cared about him. We love you Monty.

Before the first week of February was over, Rooster Teeth's worst kept secret was finally revealed in the form of the old Inside Gaming team working for Rooster Teeth under the new name Funhaus. Much like how they worked for Machinima, they report daily on gaming news, now for The Know, while uploading gameplay, podcasts and Q&As onto their own channel, and all from the comfort of their new RT office in L.A. (well, not yet. It's still being set up for them). They even pop down to Austin to show up in some RT videos and vice versa. As a big fan of the IG crew as far back as their GTA IV Bioshock Infinite mod video, I was delighted with the move and happy to see that not only did the FH channel get over 100,000 subscribers in roughly two days, the RT Community welcomed them with open arms, despite not really kicking into gear for a couple of weeks (I was impatient, I wanted them to be making content that I always laughed to/at from the get-go. I'M ONLY HUMAN!). It was a great morale booster with Monty's passing still fresh in everyone's mind. I can't wait to bathe in much more Dude Soup for the foreseeable future.

Jack's pet project finally launched when Let's Play Live took place on the 20th of February at the ACL Live theatre in Austin. Also in attendance were ScrewAttack and the Funhaus crew for even more banter. While I wasn't able to attend myself (the big pond separates myself and the U.S.A), from what I can tell, it was a massive success and was enjoyed by all (maybe some a little too much!). Who knows, the success of that night could someday result in a nationwide tour! Some can only dream.

Speaking of Let's Play Live, those who attended got an exclusive first look at the first Lazer Team teaser, before being released to the public a day later. For a crowd-funded movie, it looks great and from what was revealed, the humour is as good as always. Kind of surprised that Michael got more screen time / lines than most of the others throughout the teaser, although we are talking about the same man whose voice acting career has taken off since RWBY Season 1. Yes, I know that Barbara has also started doing voice acting for Funimation and Burnie did say in a Podcast during the month that he was acting in two other films this year outside of Rooster Teeth, but Barbara (I don't think?) is in Lazer Team and it looks like Burnie won't feature as prominently as the other main characters. This is all just speculation on my part and in the meantime, I'll pray for the day that I can go see Lazer Team here in Ireland.

Follow me over to Part 2 (yes I know, I'm sorry but I've a lot to say on February)

I'd just like to thank touchmynubin and everyone who was there for a fun game of Fibbage. With it being my first interaction with the RT community, I was nervous about it but after a while, we all got more chatty with each other and my nerves quickly disappeared. Hopefully, this will be just the start of me interacting with all of you and using this account more :)
