uh, so I guess the Warriors lost a fight to some other team and some guy send a picture of the score to Reiko to rub it in. And I guess she got really annoyed but apparently the other team loses all the time. Anyway she said it's weird how people make a huge deal out of the Warriors losing nowadays. What do you think

      • niveK37

I mean I understand why people make such a huge deal out of it. It's because they mad and because they jelly. People just like to be haters, it's hella dumb.

      • RydiaWanders

Yeah, really getting a sense of that tonight. I guess they broke a big record tonight but there are still people out there who are all "nah, they ain't nuthin'". It's like how everyone seems to hate on President Obama, no matter what, ha ha.

Reiko says Charles Barkley hates the Bay Area, ha ha. I at least know HIS name. =

I don't know if you have Crumchyroll or not, but Ace Attorney anime has begun streaming there! There's going to be 1 new episode every Saturday morning at 4am, right now they have "The First Turnabout." I haven't watched but just saw the news so I had to share

I don't have that but I will probably have to start watching this series. I still need to play some of the other games.

have you played any Street Fighter V? Sooo good, except if you don't play online there isn't much to do

      • niveK37

I've only played a little bit of it. But yeah, I thought the same thing because I didn't really see much stuff that you could do offline. I'm still really bad at that game though.

      • RydiaWanders

Mm. The fighters I've been matched with aren't crazily bidding me left and right so I think the matchmaking might have been greatly improved since SF IV. All that beta time must have helped

      • niveK37

Yeah, I haven't really put in much time with it yet, but I kinda want to get at least better at it because I feel like that would be fun. I kinda want to buy a stick also but they're hella expensive. Also, Daigo is streaming right now.

      • RydiaWanders

Oh wow, you're considering a stick? That's pretty hardcore. You know, I really love the character variety in SF IV, but the stat-tracking and overall mechanics of V is so good. It really makes me want to play more, and take it semi-seriously. I'm also losing a lot less to online peeps; I wonder if my tier is just too low now, not as many hardcore people in the league I'm playing in just yet

      • RydiaWanders

Also, something that's missing from the stats is your overall Win ratio and number of matches played. I found a really simple site that compiles it for you, you just need to enter your fighter ID.

        http://sfv.fightinggame.community/player/

Also I really like having an SF V-specific fighter ID rather than playing with my PSN name. Better privacy, and it's just like this great SFV fighting career, you know

Gahh, Michiko it's grand to hear from you!! :: Haha, I believe you're mistaking tired && wasting away for "mature and womanly." With the physical and mental crap I put my body through, I'm surprised I haven't fallen over dead yet. Cheers to resilient bodies! :: I had to look up Girls Generation...I haven't had a lot of exposure to kpop, but I definitely have realized since going away to school and meeting more ppl from all over the place that this genre of music is HUGE. So far though, I'm not sure if the few things I've heard are my cup of tea...but for sure, my metaphorical cup of tea is a pretty wide cup of tea, so I've probably not heard enough to make a judgement. ANYWAY, hahaha, we were just posing for a photo...we'd be the wrong group to ask to dance and sing haha. :: I really miss talking to you too!! Hope you're doing really well, too!!

Mi-chyan, that first video was just FREAKING INCREDIBLE! I mean, THAT is exactly the kind of stuff I see in my head when I think of dance videos I wish I could make, EXACTLY! Oh my gosh, that was freaking amazing. I am almost speechless looking at that...just...wow.

Even the second video, I remember watching that one previously, and it still, to this day, speaks to me in a way I can't describe. Thank you for sharing those with me Dearest Friend.

    • VocalDrummer

I bring this all up because I find you to be in similar straits, this kind of conflict of creativity/artistry, where you're searching for your voice. I don't mean to sound condescending,

Not condescending at all Mi-chyan, I very much and deeply appreciate your words. That's exactly what I think I'm doing, finding my voice after all these years of just thinking and wishing for it. Trying to pull the thoughts I've been having for the last 10 years out of their filing cabinet and organizing them is, and has been, a daunting task, but I feel that I'm making progress, finally making progress.

I just know there are things I make that I am very proud of, and other stuff that I just hate because I feel like I settled or pandered or something.

EXCATLY! I've been thinking about maybe going back and re-recording "The Distance" now that I have a thought about how I want it to sound for me. It was good to record that first one, because it helped me somewhat in the respect that it made me realize what's NOT my sound, what's NOT my liking.

I hope you continue to feel inspired by your everyday life, by new perspectives, and continue to create new art that you can enjoy and be proud of.

Thank you Summoner, for your words of encouragement. It means more than you know, especially now.

      To Michiko:
We went to Chili's for her birthday dinner! Sadly, there was no cake to be had. It was good food, though (well good in comparison to most of the monotonous cafeteria food we have here on campus). I hadn't been to Chili's in such a long time, so it was an all-around good time. :: Anyway, I hope all is well with you!! && I direct this to you, not Kevin, since Kevin and I basically talk on a regular basis now.

Hi Mi-chyan, thanks for the comment.

I would honestly suggest playing them in release order, simply for the appreciation factor of how the game grows and evolves. Barring that, if you played them in chronological order of the Halo universe, that would probably work as well to give you an overall feel of being "in the moment" in the war.

If you have XBL, send me a FR, we can play together sometime. Of course, that's totally up to you, as you know.

Also, I didn't include any spoilers in my Halo journal, specifically just because I didn't want to ruin the game for someone else.

      I hope you're well Summoner/Caller/Magic Lady (=P).

I think that IS a fair trade. Or will be when I get that 6 pack worked in to the build haha. I've been really wanting to take it for a while but work has kept me from devoting time and money towards it. I'm already asking too much to get all 5 days of Wing Chun.

LOL! I loved that entry so much. It still makes me laugh! As I said, it's something that happens. I've even had moments where I have a similar slip of the tongue when I'm talking b/c I was talking but thinking of something else for a split second. Aww, that was so grand. Thanks for reminding me about that. ::

My parents care too much when it come to things that DON'T matter. And I am so trustworthy, yet they rarely loosen their grip && they act like I'm incapable to do things (other than chores ha)...*sigh* I guess they're like that b/c I'm a girl, which in my opinion shouldn't matter, but the opinion in question is theirs, and yes they are very traditional thinking in the male vs. female argument. My brother received a lot of freedoms rather early on. but hey. It's not HORRIBLE or anything. They do let up sometimes. They've been letting me do a lot more things (haha, like moving to another region of the country for school) even though they need to work on the nagging && hassling still. ::

I'm in complete understanding && agreement about what you're saying about your dorkiness. ::

I know when I need to focus. For example, even though I used to be able to do math problems while doing other things, I no longer can. It has to be just my math text book, paper, pencil, eraser, calculator, && me. (sometimes I find myself flipping through the text book to look at pictures, though *bites lip* oops). ::

I think the 70s are nice. but Yeah yeah I know your a cold lover!! *scornful look* I just don't understand you people. haha ::

I may be a dork, Kevin, but you will never know the truth of why I continue to comment. MUHAHAHAHA. ::

Sorry for the delayed response; I got distracted with a few phone calls (Yay multi-tasking :~D) but I'm going to go now. My friend told me she can't go for a walk poo, so I'm going to work out inside where there's air conditioning instead. blarg. ttyl Kevin!

    • asianSmirk

Well, I would rather eat a raw tomato over a raw potato. that's the difference. *smirk* but no, I guess it's not really any significant difference in this case. However, if you had told me you ran over your best friend's dog or something && I then gave that a Zing...well that would make a differences. ::

My parents have to chill. They don't realize how much of a pain a lot of kids my age are. I mean, sure I can be irresponsible sometimes, but g's I take care of myself a lot more than they seem to give me credit for. oh well. I'm used to it. :: I shall fight against injustice! really. injustice is the word. haha ::

I bet I would be just fine with your "nerdiness/dorkiness." I'm friends with a range of different ppl. extremely dorky or nerdy included. ::

Hahahaha, yeah distractions are bad! :~p I easily get swept into doing other things when I'm supposed to be getting something (of mild to little importance) done. For certain things, I am completely focused && can't function or get it done otherwise. ::

Right now it's like 93, but it apparently "feels like 100" I think from the humidity or something. I will load up on fluids before I leave. I'm only going for a walk. I saw a few crazE ppl go for a run yesterday in the middle of the day! ah, but I love the warm sun, even if it must come along with really hot weather. ::

lol! WHAT is WRONG with you, Kevin?! haha. Oh true statement. She did previously cover your wall. Well she knows I'm not just commenting with game/competition motives to cover your wall. OR is that the only reason why I'm commenting??? Hmmm??

    • asianSmirk

G's first of all, you were suppose to get a +1 Ditto for your comment, not a Zing but eh I guess we'll deal haha. ::
My parents act like I've cured cancer when I wake up early && go to bed before 2. I just don't understand why my sleep affects them so much...they ought to be concerned with other aspects of my life if they have to be worrying about me. But yeah, of course I'll be the first to admit that my sleep schedule tends to suck (though number one causation would be school...*whispers*school wants to murder me). ::

Yes, I like "typing velocity" as well. I'm almost certain if you were around me more, you'd like a lot of the dorky/nerdy things I say. Well, I don't often speak like a weirdo...it just happens occasionally. lol okay I'm not going to continue with this analysis of my diction. ::
I was thinking about it the other day--I'm rotten at multi-tasking, yet I continue to do so. I just feel bored doing certain things like when I'm on the phone or computer or listening to music when I'm not doing something else too. ::

No, nothing eventful. All of the eventful-ness was covered in the earlier half of the day, in which I've already divulged to you. I may go on a walk w/ a friend pretty soon here...I just first have to check if theirs a heat advisory or something right now, like there was yesterday, even though I went outside anyway. Out the window went rationality of mine. ::

Haha, she was angry? I don't mind it. It's not your fault that the few ppl who choose to interact with me aside from the journals && stuff on this site do so through messaging. I think our convo's work well here. Unless of course Michiko's nerves would be stirred should I cover your wall, then we could stop commenting, haha.

    • asianSmirk

Haha, actually for the past 3-ish days I've been on a reasonably normal sleep-schedule; so yeah I'm well. Btw, I'm on a comp. (which explains why I'm not on aim) and why I can type a lot faster lol. but I guess you can't judge my typing velocity right now. Oh, and I can "multi-task" now...so I may end up being slower that way :~p
Anything eventful happen to you between yesterday when I was talking to you && now?

    • asianSmirk

Kevin Kevin, seeing as how I was online at that hour (remember I'm a few hours ahead of yours) I can't be doing all that great with such a messed up sleep schedule haha. No, I'm actually doing pretty well as I was the last time we talked--I just have been sleeping at odd hours. And my new (grad gift) iPod Touch doesn't help my trying to fix my bad sleeping habits all too much either...cause now instead of idle-ly laying in bed trying to fall asleep, I surf the net. :~[ I am self-destructive lol. :: sorry I missed your comment yesterday, though. I mustve been just signing off or something b/c while I'm on this site I usually watch if I get alerts. Are you still doing well?? I noticed your journal comment (a few weeks as you said after you were planning to comment; you've been keeping busy? Not that I mind the delay, haha I mean look at how behind I am basically all the time) I shall respond specifically to your comment when I'm on a comp. easier to type. As a matter of fact I'm surprised I've already typed this much and w/ such relative promptness. :~D alright ttyl Kevin!

Alrighty, so as strange as that article seemed, even MORE strange was when I went around from site to site to site, looking for more information on this new tax: around five or so very different sites had printed the EXACT SAME ARTICLE, word for word. Not always was the author given credit (the author is Jim Kouri) so it was really hard to figure out if there was some strange scam going on or what.

Well I finally found some different information on the subject (not done researching), but it seems that Mr. Kouri's article is a bit too slanted in a certain direction that it has become misleading. His article essentially leads us to believe that the U.S. government is planning on taxing our veterans for the prosthetic limbs - as well as pacemakers, wheelchairs, and other medical devices - that they now need to use thanks to having been wounded in combat; what it doesn't tell you that I have found out (and must confirm) is that the tax is NOT being laid on those who are using these products, but rather on the manufacturers (see article here). There is the fear that this tax will be too high for the companies to pay ($20 billion over the next ten years), and that it will end up causing these "medical device manufacturers" to lay off employees, but the tax is being imposed on companies, not the veterans. More research is still needed, of course.

That said, it will be difficult for those manufacturers to find a way to survive while being taxed like this, and more importantly for their employees to still have jobs at the end of it; maybe some other plan will be made to lessen the economic impact this is going to have on those companies and families-to-be-effected.

But yes, I am now a bit more at ease knowing that maybe the article by Mr. Kouri is simply misleading, and that veterans and others who must use those medical devices are not being pummeled by these new tax hikes.

      ~ M ~

Why am I not surprised that the article was only telling a half truth? I knew there was something shifty by the derogatory use of the term "Obamacare" but good job on doing some snooping around to clarify it. Personally, I can support that kind of a tax as it is similar to what the Labor Party here in Australia is trying to do with the Mining Industry.

Thanks thanks. I'm going to attempt to find a happy medium between relaxation && staying on top of everything I have to do...sheesh. Seriously. I think the work/responsibilities are never going to stop. I should of enjoyed being 6 years old when I had the chance haha. ::
I LOVE warm && hot weather. I'll be getting plenty in Atlanta :~) but yeah, I'm sure complaining comes with the territory. However, I just think complaining about hot weather is so much better than having to complain about cold weather. ::
Well I hope the summer classes aren't a drag. Are they electives or specific degree requirement courses? Haha g's I wish I could just stop thinking about school. I'm pretty nervous to find out what I'll be taking this coming year. won't find out until late August though ::
Oh speaking of games, my sister decided to get DBZ Budakai T. 3 for the Wii, and I laugh every time I see my older brother being sucked into playing it...he just starts playing && before he knows it, an hour has passed, and he's screaming at the inanimate Cell on the tv screen. I thought I'd tell you b/c I think you'd find this little tid bit humorous.

      THANK YOU SO MUCH MI-CHYAN!!

If the video was supposed to only BE dancing then that would have been best, but I see this as a fun dance/music concept piece

That's exactly what I was thinking. I didn't want to just imitate the dance, but use the effects to communicate what I think of during the song, as well as the different dance aspects.

I think would make it stronger would be to use a font that mimics the DOS font even more...

Thank you for showing me that website! I wasn't sure you could even add fonts to your computer, so this is like, a wonderful find.

I like that you used green, it makes me think of those awful old IBM screens, ha ha

Yep! That's what I was going for, the feel of those old computers I remember from elementary school.

so everything I'm saying could have you shaking your head, screaming "I KNOOOOW THIS??! But it won't LET ME?!" Ha ha ha!!

I was, but at the same time, I don't wanna use the limits I have as an excuse to not try something, so I've been experimenting more since I finally finished editing the video.

I'd love to see a re-working of this idea of yours later when you have more resources to go even crazier with it!

That's exactly what I'm doing. Just biding my time...waiting...*Mr. Burns Voice* Excellent.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and saw it for how I was trying to make it...if that makes sense. Believe me, I will be taking your words to heart, because once again, your critique and suggestions have re-motivated me to make my next one even better, helped to make it fun again.

      Arigatou Mi-chyan.

Ah! Hello Mi-chyan, I'm just up and about doing some cleaning. Now that it's the weekend, and I'm not super busy with work, I actually have time to do some of this. And seeing as of how I never get to stay up late anymore-well, as late as I used to-I've taken to trying to get as much done as possible before I lay down for the night, even if I only get five minutes to do so.

      How are you doing?

I usually never laugh AT my students from other countries who are having problems driving. On the contrary, those have been my biggest lessons in patience. I even had to explain to Yuki yesterday that I wasn't laughing at her, I was laughing at how scare our observers were.

I don't know, when a student needs that confidence, you can usually tell, and so if they do something wrong, I try to incorporate both positive and improvement-needed feedback to them so they know that they're progressing, but that they still need to work harder.

Like I said, I've been told I'm a nice guy before...I like to think I act like one on occasion.

    • VocalDrummer

if these things are really so important, why they wait until just about the last possible minute in order to deal with it.

EXACTLY!!! I have a saying that I give to everyone who wants me to rush them through because they need to finish in X amount of time.

"Lack of preparation on your part does NOT mean emergency planning on mine."

I use this about once a day, sometimes more, whenever I get someone who comes in to bother me saying they need to finish soon since they're leaving the country/starting a new job/taking finals/etc.

Great comment Summoner! I agree so much I'd give you a billion ditto if I could.

That's exactly it. Everything they do is so over-the-top, even for a musical. They exaggerate everything so much, it's just too much. It's like watching a 2nd grade play trying to take itself seriously!
