So, about 2 weeks ago, I thought it'd be a laugh to order some shirts of the internet, and I proceeded to visit some of my favourite sites to find some.
Firstly, I hit up Penny-Arcade, and bought myself a guitar hero shirt and a rock band shirt.
Then, I ended up back here at RT, and bought myself a long overdue Church shirt, as he is the man.
Then I ended up at zazzle.com, where I found myself a fantastic Foxhound shirt.

Now, I live in New Zealand, so the question becomes, which of the three retailers will get thier goods to me first.

So I waited, and about a week later, a nice neat envelope from Zazzle.com turns up, with my Foxhound shirt inside it.

Then, a week later, I find my Penny-Arcade shirts turned up.
At this stage, you must be thinking, for shame RT, for shame.
However, bundled to my PA shirts, was another package with the famous Cockbite image on it. So, technically, because I ordered my RT shirt a few mins after my PA shirts, RT manages to steal the silver medal, with PA gaining a bronze.

To Whom It May Concern, Hopefully Someone at Harmonix reads this

Congrats on following up your very very sucessful rhythm game Rock Band with a sequel so quickly, it looks even better. Amazing work. You've taken the bare bones of Guitar Hero, improved it, and turned it into an amazing new game. And with the sequel only a few weeks away from being released in the states, I have only one question.

WHEN THE FUCK DO I GET ROCK BAND???? WHY DO YOU HATE MY COUNTRY????

Rock Band was released before Christmas last year in the states, and I've been waiting paitently for it to turn up here. One month? Fine. Two months? Understandable. Three Months? Pushing it. Almost a year, with a sequel almost here? You've got to be fucking kidding me.

As a result, I will not be buying Rock Band at all. I'll get Guitar Hero World Tour, which I hope will have a somewhat more realistic release schedule.

In closing, to Harmonix and all those behind the creation and distribution of the Rock Band franchise; Go Fuck yourselves.

      Love you all,
      Joker

    • Gaming in New Zealand

In most ways, living in New Zealand is simply excellent. It's a small, kind place, full of friendly people, amazing landscapes, and (unknown to most people) not hobbits. I live in Auckland, our largest city, with just over one million people (I realise that there are Mental Asylums in America that have more residents than that, but it's kinda huge for us).
Like I said, generally great. Simply smashing.
And yet, when it comes to gaming, I often feel like killing myself. It's awful. You Americans do not know how lucky you are.
      And here's why.

      1. Price
EA new American Game will cost you, according to Electronics Boutique, US$49.99. Judging on the exchange rate at the time, this roughly amounts to NZ$75-80. It would therefore be reasonable to assume that games in New Zealand should cost roughly $80, right?
      Wrong.

The last game I brought was Army of Two for Xbox 360 (which I am enjoying, by the way). This set me back a whopping NZ$120. Thats 1/3 more than how much it would have cost me had I brought it in the States. I recall once being impaitent, waiting for Devil May Cry 3; Special Edition, so I brought it off Amazon and paid for the fastest international shipping possible, in order to have the game a month or so before realease in NZ. It still cost me $10 less.

      2. Delays
I am an avid Guitar Hero fan. There's no hiding this fact. I love this game to a point where many consider it unhealthy. As such, I am often ridiculed for the fact I sit alone and play a toy guitar for hours on end by myself.
As you can imagine I was very exited by the prospect of Rock Band when it was announced early last year. The prospect of playing a toy guitar, while others played with me, made me a very happy man. In America it was released a month or so before Christmas, 2007.
      I am still waiting.
"But, Spencer" I hear you say "Surely you're being impaitent. Just find out the release date and wait!"
I would love to do that. Believe me. But as of March 2008, a release date has still not been set for Rock Band in New Zealand.
As you can imagine, while it may mean nothing to you, the words "Simultaneous Worldwide Release" are a huge deal to me.

      3. Special Editions
This is the most minor of the complaints I have, but as a collector of pointless game related objects, it still hurts.
I'll leave it short and sweet.
I brought Spider-Man 3 (Yes, terrible call) and didn't get the bonus disk.
I brought Devil May Cry 4 SE, and did not get the Anime Disc.

Minor things, yes. But this is how it begins. Today it's no Bonus content, no extras, but tomorrow! Tomorrow, New Zealanders get handed thier games in envelopes without manuals or disc art! Imagine!

Please respond to this in some way. I am but a humble New Zealander, I have nothing else to pass my time. Games are too expensive, our air is too pure and our oceans are full of swimmers. Please help me.

      Lots of love,
      Joker

Haha... I don't actually own an Xbox 360, or even halo 2... I am a proud Aussie though.

Also a few of my RvB mates are aussie, so, awesome! Good to meet you.
