Hey, I guess I should write a journal about what I've been up to. Over on Wikimedia Commons (which is Wikipedia's sister site where photos/videos/etc are stored and organized), I've been curating the Rooster Teeth category. Basically, I've been scouring Flickr and whatnot for photos that are freely-licensed (that is, the photographer allows anyone to use them for any purpose), and tidying them up into categories for easy location.

At this point, I've managed to get free photos of 50+ staff people and tons of photos of other random interesting RT history stuff. Huge huge thanks to photographer extraordinaire Count3D for being super nice and releasing a ton of photos he's taken at various cons, and also to Danny Benavides, Relativiox, and anyone else who's posted their photos on Flickr with free licenses. :)

You can check out the galleries I've made for Rooster Teeth, RWBY, and Burnie, or you can just browse through all the photos in the Rooster Teeth category. You can also see a few of the photos sprinkled throughout Rooster Teeth's Wikipedia article and other articles related to RT.

Anyway, don't know how interesting photo organization will be to most people, but figured I'd just make a little update about it regardless. :)

    • Poster featuring Minecraft stats released!

      oxguy3 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aaaaaaa a new poster featuring tons of Minecraft LP stats, a few of them from my spreadsheet, just went up on the RT Store!! Jon messaged me a while ago asking if I could finish up the stats so he could them for a secret project, and I'm sure glad I got it done b/c it looks amazing! Fantastic work Jon! The poster is here if you want one (I know I sure do).

    • Finally surpassed 2500 deaths!

      oxguy3 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

With the new episode "Capture the Tower X", the cumulative death total for all Minecraft LPs has finally passed 2500! In fact, it shot all the way up to 2658 deaths, and became the new deadliest episode for Geoff and Michael. As always, the details can be found on the spreadsheet.

EDIT: Wow, I also posted this to r/RoosterTeeth, and it's gotten more attention than I ever would have hoped for. ^_^

    • All deaths logged!

      oxguy3 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks to some motivation provided by a certain unnamed entity, I have just finished logging the deaths for every Let's Play Minecraft episode ever made! Across the 80 episodes, I counted a total of 2377 deaths (although there's no way that I didn't make a mistake somewhere). I've also put a couple of other notable statistics on the front page of the Google spreadsheet, so go check it out!

    • Brief update about stupid shit!

      oxguy3 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just sealed my money order to become a sponsor for a year, so yay that! At long last I can watch the behind the scenes shit and out takes and whatnot.

Also, to anyone curious about the Let's Play statistics: I have now logged 2069 deaths from 67 of the 77 episodes (it's 77 instead of 76 because I included the unnumbered Minecraft Zombie Apocalypse episode), which means I'm at 87% completion! As before, you can see what I've done here.

But maybe, once I reach 100% completion, I might whip up a nifty little website with tons of neat charts and analysis and shit for every episode. I want/need to learn about writing websites properly in PHP (i.e. using an MVC framework instead of just bullshitting around the way I normally do), and this seems like as good of an excuse as any to finally teach myself something like CakePHP. I've been pretty busy with school lately, but hopefully I'll have more time soon.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm also thinking I might add the rankings in episodes where everyone had a podium place. It doesn't really make sense to do in the Google spreadsheet, but it seems like it could fit in nicely once I have a website.

Whoever was at the Reds game last night wearing a "People Like Grapes" shirt last night who was on the big screen for a moment during some dance cam or whatever, I fucking saw you and freaked the fuck out. That is all.

So a few days ago I regrettably had the idea to compile a log of every death ever in AH's Minecraft Let's Plays. A few days of spreadsheet tweaking and video watching later, I have logged all the deaths from 26 out of 62 episodes, and will continue adding the rest of them over the next few days.

Besides those 885 deaths, I have also logged a shitton of other statistics, including everyone's individual wins (other people have cataloged wins before, but they didn't seem to include a lot of stuff so I did it myself). And just for good measure, I also set up a couple of pretty graphs.

All of my statistics and graphs and data are here in this Google spreadsheet, so go check it out!

      Some random/interesting facts I've discovered:

-- All six of the "regulars" (i.e. Geoff, Gavin, Ray, Michael, Jack, Ryan) win between 22% and 36% of all the competitions they participate in... except for Gavin, who only wins 9% of the time. (even Caleb did better at 17%)

-- So far, the episode with the most fatalities was #37 Clouds, with 296 deaths (boy that sure was fun to track). However, #46 Cloud Down might be more once I add it.

-- Geoff, Ray, and Michael are the only people who have appeared in all 62 episodes.

-- The longest episode is nearly four times as long as the shortest one. ("#5 Enter the Nether p.1" is 14:27, "#52 Shopping List p.1" is 56:15)

-- The highest density of deaths that I've seen so far was at 18:10 in #55 Creeper Soccer, when five people died in about a second.

-- One time someone actually got killed by a cactus. (Ray in "#56 Hit List" at 43:21; the death message was "BrownMan was pricked to death")

Apparently I don't have a high enough karma level to post to the forums, so I'll just put this in a journal entry and maybe someone will notice it...
