How did we not have a topic for this already?

What is it you liked so much about Republic Commando? Be it the game or the books.

Personally, I loved the level of control you got over your squad, which was totally unique at the time. It added a tactical aspect to the game that got me hooked.

I also liked the diverse personalities of the characters and how they all had very different roles dispite the fact that they were supposedly all the same. Both genetically and by upbringing.

      Been playing WoW. A lot.

Seems with this sort of game there seems to be a sort of rota where I'm obsessed with it for a few months, get bored of it then a while later find myself obsessed with it again.

Now is one of those times where the addiction is setting in...

I really didn't have anything interesting to say. I was just bored.

      Anyhoo, enjoy this quote:

I was thinking of getting Operation Flashpoint 2. What do you all think? I haven't seen much of it but what I have seen does look good.

Also, after my fourth or fifth playthrough I have finally managed to completely unlock all of New Mombassa in ODST, which is good. I am currently hunting down all the audio files. Got 25/30 at the moment.

    • Sixth form.

Well, here I am in the glorious sixth form of my current place of learning, where we supposedly have some sort of power. More power than the lower years, anyway. In theory...

I am also starting to realise that pretty much everyone who teaches the sixth form are complete eejits. I'm completely surrounded by incomeptence. Why set us work based on subjects we won't do until next year? Why set us a test, look at it later and say "sorry, just had a look at this test. Turns out we won't be doing this until next week"? I worked my arse off to finish all my ACTUAL work, trying to make time to revise for it and then the fucker tells us that he's disregarding it anyway?

I thought it seemed a bit difficuilt...

Just going to tell some random jokes here.

An Austrailian, an American and an Irishman walk into a bar. The Austrailian walks up to the barman and say "We Austrailans are the king of drinks. Give me a Fosters." The American then walks up to the bar and say "No, we Americans are the king of drinks. Give me a Budweiser." The Irishman then walks up to the bar and says "I'll have a coke." The Austrailian and American then asks "Aren't you going to have a Guiness" the Irishman replies "If you aren't going to drink, then neither am I"

    • Yet more ODST

Right, I really need to find people to play with on firefight. So far, It's been nothing but solo matches meaning A) I do crap or B) The matches take too long and I have to go do something else before I finish the game.

It's unlickely that anyone reads my posts but If you do, I'm always willing to play a round of Firefight.

"Hacker: I know exactly who reads the papers. The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country. The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country. The Times is read by people who actually do run the country. The Daily Mirror is read by the wives of the people who run the country. The Financial Times is read by people who own the country. The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country. The Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.

Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about people who read the Sun.

Bernard: Sun readers don't care who runs the country as long as she's got big tits." - Jim Hacker, Sir Humphrey and Bernard, Yes, Prime Minister

      Long quote for this post.

    • Frankie quits

Heard a few days ago that Frankie Boyle is quitting Mock the Week. I suppose I might have been more upset had he quit about a year ago but after a while you start to see how many of his jokes are all the same. He only really got his laughs by shocking people, being as offensive as possible.

This will, however mean that ratings for Mock the Week will likely plummet and so they're in deep shit. Frankie Boyle was a public favorite and it's doubtful that the show will keep its prestige now that he's quit.

      No worries!

    • Crash Course

Gave in and bought the Crash Course DLC for Left 4 Dead earlier today. It WAS good, but I still feel like I was getting screwed over simply because there wasn't much of it.

I can understand the theory well enough. Give the customer a shorter campaign to play on versus but maybe they should have thought of making two new campaigns to balance it out.

On the brighter side, because I bought it I finally got the "Do not disturb" achievement, which I had previously failed to obtain as I was playing with an ai who gets trigger happy near the witches...
