      Mayo clinic

Today started my adventures at the Mayo clinic, which I found out will last until Thursday. I've been to quite a few medical centers and this place puts them all to shame. There was one entire floor of a building that was just nurses taking people's blood. Somehow, the incredible technology of this place didn't make it to it's connecting Holiday Inn Express, since I'm typing this from a computer that seems to be running Windows 2000. Since I got back from my elk hunting trip the day before I had to leave for this, I haven't really been on the computer for a while. Since this computer sucks, I'll probably document my eventful week when I get back.

      This is trippy

My hands corrected my grammar against my will. I was going to type a sentence and my hands put a comma in there without me planning to. When I went back to take it out, I found that it should have been there all along.

      What's new?

Well it looks like, once again, I will not be able to go to college this year for health reasons. I just can't get over this crap.

My doctor is going to try to get me into the Mayo Clinic sometime soon, which could be interesting. I will hopefully be getting in to see an ndocrinologist, but I would like to make my way over to a neurologist. Doctors hate it when people suggest treatments, but there's a lot of things I've read about on the Internet that seem promising.

On a positive note, my mood has been improving lately. I used to get really upset late at night, but I think it's gotten better. I think it's because I decided to give up on school for this year, which was oddly a relief. It was just so tiring to try and do normal things to prepare for school, and now I'm feeling less pressure and can relax. Not that I haven't been doing plenty of relaxing over the last few years or anything.

I'm really worrying about my current state of laziness. No one really expects me to get anything done, so I don't really push myself. I would like to put more time this year towards more productive things.

I would like to spend more time practicing guitar and piano, but unfortunately the only time I have energy is at night, when everyone is sleeping. Hopefully I can get around that by finding a place out of the house that I can practice at, or maybe spending my time in the day more wisely. Also I would like to read more books, which I was pretty good at last year. Lately though I've fallen into a pattern of watching TV and sitting on the Internet instead. Watching the Olympics has made me a bit more motivated to exercise, which I maybe could do more of with this new drug I am taking for muscle pain. I should also spend more time this year on my Spanish lessons.

Lastly I would like to spend more time reading my Bible and praying. My pastor led our Bible study a few weeks ago that we hold at my house and he put a different spin on the whole, "Hey you kids should read your Bibles more" lesson. One thing that caught my attention was what he said about finding out what direction God is trying to send you in. I usually only pray when I want God to show me what he wants me to do, but spending time praying and reading the Bible even when you don't have problems will give you the wisdom you need when you have problems.

Alright this was long. My problems may seem bad to me right now. Fortunately, God works out all things for the good of those who love Him, which includes me.

      Weird foods

Becoming allergic to all of the foods you eat the most of is very....interesting. One of the most interesting parts is that now I can eat pretty much anything, including foods I used to not like.

For example, I used to hate corn and oysters, but I had some this Thanksgiving and didn't think they were too bad. I used to hate raisins, and have now completed eating about a cup of raisins in the last hour. I used to hate almost any kind of fish, but now I have eaten so much of it that I've almost gone full circle. I've gone past liking it, loving it, and now I'm making my way over to being sick of it. I probably will hate it again just in time for me to eat whatever I want, and then will love it again when I get sick from eating only ice cream sandwiches and whatever I can cover in cheese.

      30 Rock

Does anyone know a place online where I can watch season two, episode one of 30 Rock? I just got done watching season one and I really want to catch up on it. I've found websites that have the other episodes of season two, just not the first episode. In case you aren't sure which one that is, its the one with Jerry Seinfeld.

      The Pod

My older brother and I started writing the scripts for a show he and his friends are starring in. It's all about their pod of rooms in their dorm building, and is called the pods. We admit that it a lot of the form of the show is a straight up copy of Arrested Development, because we started writing it after watching the second and third seasons of that show. We couldn't really help it, the show is just too good. They'll film the two episodes in the next few weeks, since one of them is going to England next semester for school. Whenever they get them all done, I'll probably put the link to somewhere you can watch them on here.

  • About Me

I try to keep up with all of the smart people in the P&CE forum. I mostly just go there to learn, so if I ask you a question about something you said, I'm probably not doubitng you. I'm just confused.
