      You're very persistent.

For me, it goes quite well. I finally have a house that is big enough to store all of my shit, and I'm gearing up to start a new job.

      How are things with you?

Haa! Yeah, horror fans are less clique-ish than some sci-fi fans. Certain shows have their specialties of course. Like Cinema Wasteland tends to lean towards exploitation flicks and shows like HorrorHound are more traditional with an unfortunate lean towards newer horror. But all are welcome in either case. Besides, there's more than just horror. There's plenty of science fiction and usually a fair amount of anime. Video games, toys, collectibles, jewelry. It's worth the price at the door just to see the costumed wierdos running around. I think Mask-Fest is back too. That's just good Halloween shopping there. Always good to plan ahead. smiley0.gif

Suit yourself. smiley8.gif Though really these shows are fun for people who don't like horror at all, with or without humor. All you need is an open mind. Plus, the guys from Boondock Saints are gonna be there. And that's just awesome.

I dunno actually. More and more it's starting to look that way, but who knows? I have set forth two stipulations, and only two, to help me make that decision when it's time. If I get to the point where I am not learning anything, or the job is not fun anymore, it is time to go.

      Sorry, I don't have a facebook.

That's fairly true. Whenever we did go to the Catcus, we never stayed long. Mostly it was to take advantage of the drink specials and no cover for individuals such as myself. Plus, I think my friends liked to watch me get twisted enough to actually dance. A rarely witnessed event. smiley8.gif Then we'd head off to a quieter bar or just back to someone's apartment for a movie or jenga. Good times. smiley1.gif

lol! I'm just joshin' ya, guy. I'm glad you impose limits there though; a lot of guys don't or won't or just don't want to. My buddy Andy has that problem. I think the last time he actually dated a girl who wasn't 10 years younger than him was when he was dating me in college. Craddle-robber. And then he wonders why they are never ready to settle down. Duh.

Everyone loves Junior. He did well at Daytona. But he tends to do well at superspeedways. Let's get him to Bristol and see how he does. Never really liked Martin. He's like Favre; I just want him to go away. My guys, if I had to choose, are Tony, Happy Harvick and I gotta pull for Ryan as a fellow Boilermaker.

I wish it had been here when I was still in school. I've only been a couple times when visiting friends who never left L-town. God, I hated Harry's. No fun at all. I did like Chumley's though. They have a blueberry ale there that makes life worth living. I typically don't like girlie fruity anything but num nummy. And we did go to the Cactus a lot. What a zoo. Mostly we stayed in, drank, watched movies and played games. You know, I guess nothing's really changed. Haa! smiley0.gif

    • jerneyfers Bloob Airey

Dude, I'm only two years older than you. It's not as though there's a huge generational gap going on here. I loved the Turtles and I briefly watched the Power Rangers when they first appeared here.

I gotta agree with you; this whole "playoffs" deal is way stupid. Just think about last year. The way things were going, if we still had it the old way, it would have been a shoot-out between Jeff Gordon ( smiley5.gif ) and Tony Stewart ( smiley0.gif ). That would have made a lot of people very happy and it would have been a blast to watch. Instead we get to see Jimmie run away with it... again. Boring.

I'm not sure that there is any pub as awesome as 9 Irish Brothers. That place is amazing. I had my first Blacksmith there. smiley12.gif Nah, this is just a little place with a race theme in Brownsburg near to all the racing teams' HQs. Decent food, decent drink specials, decent atmosphere, lot's of TVs. smiley0.gif

    • jerneyfers Bloob Airey

Haa! No younger sisters. What? Thirty is too old for you? smiley8.gif

Yeah, I'm a race fan. Hard to live in Indianapolis and not at least know a little about racing, especially a west-sider like myself. We are immersed in it. smiley1.gif

We never changed the channel really. We did scurry off to the pub down the street during the second red flag to get some foods and finished watching it there (which was very fun). Nothing like watching an event like that with other excited fans.

I gotta say, I wasn't all that jazzed for this season. Last year was pretty boring. We know what's going to happen. Same thing every year. I have hope now for this season. The France Dynasty will loosen the leash a little and let the boys race. Maybe, just maybe, we'll have a new face for a champ come November and the ride there will actually be fun.

I know, I know. I like to think that the whole of the county outside of our little corn field was rooting for the Saints because New Orleans deserved the win and because they were the underdog. Not because of any animosity for our Colts. That would make me sad. I'm pretty well over it though. Now I'm just bummed that the season is over. At least I have racing until it comes back.

I can't believe it's snowing again. smiley4.gif Balls to this!

There is a difference between The Office remake and the Death at a Funeral remake. Mostly, that the American version of The Office really came into it's own within the first few episodes and took the characters into a fairly different direction, especially with the boss character (also, the BBC version's creators Steven Merchant and Ricky Gervais have not only given their blessing to the show, but Merchant wrote an episode last season).

NOT TO MENTION, the fact that The Office in both forms is not only extremely clever, but also well written and, at times, even moving.

From what I've seen from the trailer and what I know about the actors, this remake feels like, "Hey, this was a funny movie. Let's sap it of all its charm and add in racial stereotypes. Just make sure Chris Rock says them, so no one is allowed to be offended."

When we lived in Portland, the lights were 2/3 purple, and 1/3 white; it was really pretty. We did mostly white here in CT the last few years - but this year Becky decided to buy color again. I like 'em. smiley0.gif

Yeah, just never really was interested for some reason. I'm not popular enough to think I need to keep the masses informed of my every move. ^_^ And I'm not sure I'd want to masses to be that informed even if I was popular enough for them to care. It seems pretty time consuming too and I already have enough things pulling at me in that respect.

You're lucky. You only need to know one Pokeholic to fall into the depths. One person got me hooked and I've added quite a few to the collective myself now. I had all of games. Red, Blue and Yellow and now right up to Platinum. Most of them were stolen unfortunately along with both my Gameboy Colors and my old original Gameboy. A tragedy. I even had/have the guidebooks and Pokedex, which you defintely need if you're gonna catch 'em all. ^_^

I guess I'm sorta the same way. I usually play one game at a time and kick ass and forget how to play anything else. I am shamefully addicted to Pokemon at the moment. You can make fun if you want. I deserve it. ^_^

I don't have a Facebook. Sorry. Or a MySpace. Nor do I tweet.

Yeah, but it's been a while since I played Halo. I'm not too hot at FPS so Halo was not something I was ever much good at. Good enough to make myself dangerous but I never got far on Legendary. Not very far at all. Ha. But it was fun to run around in multiplayer and blow up my brother's friends. ^_^ Mostly it was the story that attracted me to the game. It's just good sci-fi.

    • quartermann

Ah, I see. Pretty simple story. At least you don't have this to remember:

I got on board directly through Nico. Back around 2000-01, we played and tested quite a bit of Myth (a Bungie game before they were bought by M$ - projectmagma.net for more info). Anyway, Halo comes along when they do buy it and suddenly there's all of these new Bungie fan groups. One of them being CockBite Productions (aka Rooster Teeth). At the time, I didn't know or think too much of them until Nico said that he was going to be making music for them around 2001-02. A year or so later, he invites me to their forum and I check things out including Season 1. I liked it enough - but didn't pay too much attention at the time.

Anyway, 2003-04 comes around and there's a site and name change. Nico's like "Hey, come and check the remake of the site." I came, registered (hence the low member number in my profile URL) and haven't gone away since then. I don't nearly plug in as much as I used to when it was fresh, but I've made some decent friends on here along the way. smiley1.gif

Aren't you glad you asked? smiley0.gif

So you actually played Halo, huh? That's actually quite rare! You'd be surprised how many people are on here but yet don't play. Are you still an active gamer?

    • jerneyfers Bloob Airey

I think it was 274. That sounds right because I remember think it was a wierd number. And I think it was Goodrich. That sounds right too. It's been so long; I don't remember very clearly. He was loud though. I remember that. His voice projected and that room was tiny.

My brother introduced me to RvB when he was still in school at Ball State. It was 2003, maybe 2004. I went to visit and we played Halo with his buddies and they got talking about some webseries I'd never heard of. We watched a few episodes and it was all downhill from there. ^_^ And yourself?

    • jerneyfers Bloob Airey

That's great! You sound like you'd make a great teacher. And if you did, you'd have the whole summer to play golf. ^_^

It can be rewarding but it can wear you down too. I've seen some really bad stuff. The things some people do to their kids. It's unreal.

I remember taking an OLS class... maybe my Junior year. We had to get a subscription to the Wall Street Journal as part of the class. Most of it was just way over my head and there was just too much information in the first place. I can handle the business section of our local paper but the Journal was data overload for me. I don't remember exactly but I think I did pretty well in that class, though the Journal and learning the purpose of those grocery and convenience store cards are the only things I remember years later.

A masochist, then, are you? Well, employers like that. Hard workers who are willing to take abuse are somewhat hard to come by. I'm sure you won't have too much trouble finding someone who wants to unload all his work on you so he can go play golf on Tuesday afternoon.

Well, I went to Purdue for bio but that's not where I stayed. I couldn't hack it so I switched majors and started studying Psychology. It was a much better fit for me but there's not much you can do with a BA in Psych out here in the world. I work in social services so it's a decent fit. How about you?

    • jerneyfers Bloob Airey

Well, brother black and gold, I graduated in 2002. Congrats on the fancy degree! Mine is but a lowly BA. And good luck with the networking and job finding. It's not the best time for such things and I wish you the best.
