So the Summer Steam sale is here, I hope your wallets are ready. However, some people new to steam haven't exactly figured out how to save the most money using it, so I've found and presented this handy flowchart for your viewing pleasure and guidance on when to buy during this steam sale.

      Praise Gaben.

I just walked into a convenience store. They were playing the store music from Ocarina of Time. I haven't been this childishly happy in awhile.

So you know that luck I brag about? It doesn't protect me from my own stupidity. Today I fucked up and spilt water on my desk. It unfortunately got on my laptop, specfically the keyboard. Everything else seems to be functioning okay though, so I guess there's that. Anyway, posts and stuff will be slow til the replacement gets here. I wrote this with On-Screen keyboard and a mouse, which is like typing with one finger that moves really fucking fast. I ordered a new keyboard and can do the replacement myself. Best case scenario that solves it; worst case, I'm gonna have to send it in....although this time I'd make them fix the speakers and bluetooth, so at least I'd get something out of it.

So I'm playing Fallout 3 again, and usually have galaxy news radio on because it has the best songs of the vanilla game (although I might add one of the add your own songs mods soon). I had just finished the Trouble on the Homefront quest, which entails you returning home to Vault 101 and finding it divided in war. Turns out, everything went to shit because of you (and your father immediately before you) leaving, and now there's a civil war brewing between the overseer and his followers vs his daughter (your old best friend) and hers, over whether to open the vault and contact/trade with the outside, or keep locked away from the world. For the best ending, you talk the overseer into giving up his position so his daughter can take over, however afterwords, she tells you that you have to leave (too many people blame you for what happened and you'd cause conflict), and basically kicks you out. Your old best friend just had kicked you out of your old home for the second time, after saving it from itself, and guess what song GNR just happens to start playing as soon as I leave?
      Way Back Home.
I laughed for a good 30 seconds there, there's nothing quite like random, perfectly timed cruelty to kick a man while he's down.

So there I am in Arkham City, being batman, when I overhear:
1: "I don't get it, Penguin should've been in touch by now."
      2: "I'm telling you, Batman's got him."
      3: "no way."
1: "Yeah, how the hell would Batman be able to get into the museum? That place is locked down tighter than my mother on prom night."
2: "What the hell does that mean?"
      1: "You don't wanna know"
      2: "Yeah, I do."
      3: "Me too."
1: "We've got more important things to be dealing with, like, what are we going to do if Batman's taken down the Penguin."
2: "Maybe we could go see your mother."
      1: "Don't even go there."
2: "Think we touched a raw nerve there. What's the deal? Is your mommy the town bike?"
      1: "No."
      3: "I bet she is."
1: "If you must know, on her prom night she got a little drunk...."
      3: "I told ya."
1: "She got a little drunk and killed all her classmates. Butchered them all with a potato peeler."
      2: "What?"
1: "So on prom night, we try and make sure she's tied down. You happy?"
      2: "I guess."

It is as I procrastinate writing the final paper for my study abroad term that I write this journal. And the first thing I have to say is that I fucking loved it. Seriously, if you ever get the chance to do a semester abroad, do it, you won't regret it. I would recommend an English speaking country, but after that, go wild. Reasonable drinking and gambling laws along with lack of tariffs on certain foreign goods (Cuban cigars namely) are only part of what makes these countries fun. They seem to like our accents, and there's a lot more to talk about with new people you meet. It's a great way to just try something new, and on top of it all, there's a sense of exploration and adventure that comes with roaming around completely lost with your friends. Today is my last day in London, and I wish I could stay longer, but alas, I must return to the US tomorrow. On the bright side, the internet is WAY better in the US, so you know, we still have that on them even if we're now losing to them in pretty much every other way. (You know that freedom we're banging on about constantly? Yeah, they have us beat there too, both in legal freedom as well as societal pressures freedom). Only problem is shit is expensive as fuck, so be ready for that. All in all, 10/10 would do again, and once I'm back home people will have to constantly listen to me talk about how much more fun I'd be having if I was still here.

I just had one, I cheered when I read an e-mail about my 4:00 PM lecture today being cancelled, even though it was due to the professor's family emergency....and I had read the whole email before I cheered, so I even knew the reason and still did it before catching myself and wondering what the fuck was wrong with me.

So today, in my Social Sciences lecture, we talked about social stratification, and when doing so, brought up Karl Marx's theories about the subject, at which point this picture of him came up, and I had an epiphany.
      Marx_color2.jpg
      Karl Marx looks like Santa
      Santa wears red.
Red is the color associated with communism.
Ladies and Gentleman, I believe I may have stumbled upon the greatest conspiracy of our time....or I'm just going crazy....one of the two.
