Ever hear the debate on where people are naturally good or naturally evil? Well, I"ve experienced enough of the human condition to hypothesize my own conclusions. There are those people that hate every living thing they come across, and there are those people that love every living thing, including things they've never even heard of. Now, I consider myself to be closer to the evil side, but I also have a concience and tend to be friendly to people I don't hate. This, coupled with numerous daily experiences, has led me to believe that people are neither naturally good, nor naturally evil.

In fact, people are just plain naturally stupid. Think about it. If we were all either good or evil, wouldn' t the majority side have taken over already? By being stupid, our society has created a diverse blend of the helpful and the hurtful. That's why society is so random! People are too stupid to pick a side.

      There are no Red people.
      There are no Blue people.
It's just a bunch of Purple idiots.
The trick to happiness is to embrace your own stupidity.

Yojimbo and Steamboy. Two movies I intend to buy this weekend. I highly recommend seeing both of them. Yojimbo is a classic, while Steamboy should have just been released in the US.

As for games... Played some co-op F4 yesterday. If you haven't played X-Men Legends yet, then I suggest renting that instead. Lumines for the PSP is like battery operated crack. And Motoko will need an upgrade within the next three months to prepare for the barrage of anticipated PC games soon to come.

And I would also like to add that having a concience is one of the worst things happening to me right now. If someone screws up, is it okay to benefit from their mistakes? Or do they actually deserve assistance, however useless it may be? Shit, this is hard.

And so killing the enemy is a matter of wrath.
Taking the enemy's goods is a matter of advantage.

      And...

Therefore, one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the most skillful.
Subduing the other's military without battle is the most skillful.

      Word.

Of old the skilled first made themselves invincible to await the enemy's vincibility.
      Invincibility lies in oneself.
      Vincibility lies in the enemy.
Thus the skilled can make themselves invincible.
They cannot cause the enemy's vincibility.
Thus it is said, "Victory can be known. It cannot be made."

      Invincibility is defense.
      Vincibility is attack.

Defend and one has a surplus.
      Attack and one is insufficient.

And just for the pure entertainment...
      Noodle is glad... Poor Russel.

Whew! What a weekend! Yes, I know it's wednesday. I've been busy. Saturday kicked all sorts of ass. I spent the day with this girl I'm seeing. She's norwegian, drives a Jeep, and loves kung fu movies. How awesome is that? I spent Sunday in Seattle lending my services as pit crew/cameraman to my drag racing brother. He pulled an average 11.15 second 1/4 mile. I'll remind you that this was in a ~'66 VW Beetle, slightly modified.^^ On Monday, I remembered that I was supposed to attend my cousin's wedding. I had to procure a gift registry, buy the cheapest gift I could afford, buy a pair of slacks, put on said pants^^, catch the 5:30 Bainbridge ferry, and make it to the ceremony by 7pm. Due to government incompetance, I had to park about three miles away. I'd tell you about the wedding reception, but they didn't serve any alcohol. 'Nuff said. You can make your own conclusions. Yesterday I made my way to Seattle, yet again. When I got back I was informed that my sister had just flown in and there was a BBQ at my parent's house. And since when have I had the ability to turn down a bbq? So now you have had the pleasure of living a weekend in the life of redhook. Envy me or pity me. I am used to both.

And congrats to Cabooseman. Yes, my name is Matt. Or Matthew. Or M-Thew. Or The Mormerod. Or Mattmeister2000. Or DoubleM2k. Or Wilson...

But you can all call me redhook.

      Edit:
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha..... I just called up my best friend from high school that I haven't talked to for seven years. He actually married the girl I am seeing right now. But they divorced two years ago. Wow... Awkward much!!! The guy is in the military, is about a foot taller than me, but is a total wuss. If it ever comes down to me or him, I am sure I could totally take him.. If I die, though, I expect all of you to track this guy down and avenge my death!!!

Sorry to interrupt the previous trivia journal thingie. I'd just like to ask if any of you have ever hacked a watermelon in two using a four foot sword. If not, then I highly suggest it. It serves as instant gratification for pretty much any problem that ails you. I was actually feeling good at the time, but now I feel great! BTW, killing the noisy couple above you also helps.^^

And the small beer is still on. Utter my name and receive 20 mod pts.

Compared to this. Sorry if I've been acting a bit weird lately. Things are going on. You understand.

And I don't actually fear rats. In fact, I have a "rat angel" named Merlin watching out for me. He's my bud.^^
