      Hi-dee-ho, Friends!

Another week in the books and the last week before my big Half Marathon for the runDisney series 2016, woo!

I'll be honest: Feelin' pretty nervous about this whole thing.

Am I excited? You bet your arse I am.

Do I feel prepared? Yes, but I could have done more, truthfully.

Nonetheless I'm super excited and can't wait to get this show on the road!!!

I had a solid week of running leading up to it even though it was cold as all get out here and I'm hoping to run a small bit while we're there but I know we're gonna be doing a lot of walking around the parks, which will definitely be good for me in the days prior to the race.

I'm sorry my last few journals haven't been more detailed in lieu of times and pacing but with the holidays happening and prepping for the Half Marathon...It's been so crazy!

Hopefully I'll have some good news by next week in relation to my time/pace, so if you feel so inclined stick around and keep an eye out for it then!

Love to you all, take care Friends!!!

      Hi-dee-ho, Friends!

So in the midst of the holiday craziness, I absolutely forgot to post my weekly journals for Buff Buddies, however I managed to keep up with my running!

Lately I've been running 2 or so miles, as the spike in cold weather's been taking a bit of adjusting to but I'm still running 3-4 days a week. I'm keeping an eye on my pace and am attempting to shoot for the same or an improvement in the few days left I'll be running before my Half Marathon. *insert panicked nerves here*

On another note, Christmas Eve we went out of town to visit some family. We also have a puppy at home who dislikes being left by herself for extended periods of time. Why do I bring this up? Puppy took out her anger on my only pair of running shoes and chewed up the back of one of them. While I was not at all pleased, they're still able to be used & I sewed up the hole she lovingly left me, but ended up ordering a new pair to be safe for the future.

I'll give a more detailed journal after this week (I promise!) but it's currently very late for me & I've been staying up late a lot the past few days. :/

Hopefully y'all had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays with your families, sending love & positive vibes to you! Take care, Friends!!!

      Hi-dee-ho, Friends!

Had a busy day yesterday but I had a successful holiday week with my running!

On Tuesday I had a solid 3.2 mile run at 37-ish minutes and was feeling pretty good. I didn't feel too tired but I also didn't feel like I hadn't done anything; I was sitting in the middle and am happy with that.

Thursday, as I mentioned last week, I ran 5 miles and ended up clocking in at 57:02 when I crossed the finish line. I was hoping to get closer to 50-53 minutes but I'm not complaining too much; I made it in under an hour and that's more than enough for me. :)

As for this coming week, I don't have any big races coming up until December but I fully intend to run at least 3 miles in each go; I'm hoping to start running 10 miles a week and then bumping that up as my Half-Marathon creeps closer.

This all being said, I didn't end up running yesterday but plan to jump full swing back into my routine tomorrow and keep pushing forward! Take care, Friends!!!

      Hi-dee-ho again, friends!

Kinda forgot to do this earlier but I remembered, so I'm doing it now. :3

Week Two is now in the books and unfortunately it wasn't as successful as last week. I was recovering from my "death-run" and trying to not overwork myself this week, so I didn't run as much as I usually would.

I did my best to stretch out my legs throughout the start of the week and I didn't focus on running for Tuesday; instead I worked on my abs and arms at my school's Rec Center. Thursday I only ran for a mile and in addition to that and what I already mentioned for Tuesday I also did some light leg work to get myself back in the swing of things.

During my run today, which I intended to be 2-3 miles, my ankle started feeling strained and I wasn't able to run as long as I wanted to. I'm not happy with that, but I know if I don't pay attention to what my body's telling me I'll be in for a bad time in the long run.

I have yet another race coming up, actually on Thanksgiving morning, but this one's only 5 miles. I'm hoping to run a total 10 miles this week but I'm not going to be too hard on myself this time around if I don't get there; if I can come within a mile or two of that goal I'll be happy.

Buckling in for another week, I'll see all y'all next Sunday! Take care, friends!

      Hi-dee-ho, friends!

Week one is marked off the list and so is my first 15K! Here's a summation of how this all went:

I ran Tuesday and Thursday at 25:00 and 20:00 minutes respectively. I think I almost made a 10 minute pace for both of those runs and reached just over 2.3 miles or so for both of those runs.

Today, Sunday the 15th, I got up at 5:00am and willingly ran a 15K through downtown Columbus. I paced myself pretty well in the beginning and ran/jogged continuously for the first 4.5 miles. Knowing I had to make sure I didn't burn out too hard, I slowed up and started switching out with walking to running, back to walking then jogging and so on at my own judgment.

In the end, I clocked in at 2 hours and 5 minutes, which was slightly disappointing to myself, as I wanted to get under 2 hours but I came close, so I'm trying to not be too hard on myself.

This coming week I'm going to do a lot of stretching and give my legs a slight break, hopefully running only 1-2 miles and throwing in some weights and upper body strengthening to mix things up! I'll see how this week goes and will most likely update all y'all next Sunday, take care friends!

With Buff Buddies kicking off, I figure why not try and join in on the fun?

Some of my friends know that I try to run at least 3 days a week, regardless of whether I'm at home or at school, and that I run a lot of 5K races with some family. That being said, I'm running my first ever Half Marathon in Disney World come January and I'm a little/lot worried.

The farthest I've ever run has been 4 miles about a year ago but since this past September then I've been trying to run one 5K a week, just to push my stamina and build it up. I've fallen out of that being a regular thing with class work catching up to me and with getting sick but I want to jump in full force and get up to speed again.

This all being said, I'm going to follow closely to Meg's outline for her workouts and tips since I feel I have the most similar goal to her, even though I only have 8 weeks to my Half Marathon. I don't want to set a weight goal with this, I just want to work on running more and adding distance to my runs as well. If I slim down in the process, that'll be a bonus.

I'll try my best to post journals with distances/times and how I feel I've done each week, so if you want to follow along and see how I progress feel free! Share any tips you have or healthy food things a college kid can make if you feel so inclined as well, if I come across any I think are interesting I'll share them here. I'm excited to get this going and hopefully I'll have a good time along the way!

Mazel tov to anyone giving Buff Buddies a shot, I'm looking forward to getting in better shape myself and hope to see you guys at the finish line!!

I like how the last entry I posted was about how I'm heading home for the summer & now I'm heading out for College once again. Oops?

Been kinda stressed out with getting ready lately but that's expected to happen when school picks back up. Thankfully this semester shouldn't be too difficult & it'll be easier than previous years.

Just a short journal for today, not too much else going on for me right now. Hopefully my next post won't be months later! <3

Definitely been a while since I've been able to come back to this, Finals caught up with me & have taken over everything. :/
One more full week left, officially done with my second year on the 5th & beyond ready for the summer!! Sadly no RTX for me this year but I'm definitely hoping to go within the next few years!
Once Finals are done I'll probably be here more, but until then I'll be keeping busy with class work & getting ready to head home! <3

Trying to post more journal entries as a whole, something I've been wanting to do for a while now. :) I just got done with my Spring Break (which if it seems early it kinda is. :/ ) and am already getting ready for a midterm this week. I did get good news over break though, I managed to find a summer job for the first time ever and I couldn't be more excited!!
Speaking of summer, I actually only have 6 full weeks of classes left until then! 8 in total but saying 6 makes it seem like less time. :)
A short journal this time, hopefully I can post another one soon! <3
