So this website is still a thing. I literally have not signed on in months.

Anyway, just finished my first semester of law school. Amazing I have been on this site for almost 8 years.

Life update time, I know yall have been waiting eagerly for one.

I start my last week of college tomorrow. Not sure where the last 4 years went, but they are coming to an end. I can't believe how different things seem now than they did back when I first started college. I reread some of my older journals, and they don't even sound like me anymore.

Next year I will be attending law school in Georgia. Probably at Mercer, but possibly at Georgia State. Looking forward to it tremendously.

That is really it. Semester ending quietly, which I suppose is a good thing. What is up with you people?

I've been on this site 7 years and 2 days. What. The. Hell.

And my total time online is nearing a year.

I feel like I should move on now.

I have been on RT for six years.

      My profile is a kindergartner.

Joined this site halfway through my Freshman year of highschool. I am now basically a senior in college.

      Geez...

Has mostly sucked. Never thought I would come to the point in my life where I wanted summer vacation to end, but alas, here it is. Stunning, amirite??!

Anyway, back to school in a week. Gonna be a junior. In college. Wow. I am old. I wore my highschool honor card shirt the other day when hanging out with people, and I thought it was like 2 years old, and BAM the year on it was 2004-2005. I turned to my friend and we were just like, wow, we are old.

I mean really, I look at people's IDs all the time at work to see if they are old enough for cigs, alcohol, etc, and these people are married with kids and are like 5 years older than me. 5 years ago I was getting my license. I remember it like it was yesterday. Scary. I don't wanna be old.

Anyway, that's all to report. I spent most of the summer working. Average 30 hours a week at a grocery store. Cashier. Technically a promotion, though much worse than bagging. Now I am off to school, where I have 3 law and 2 religion classes. Chances I post a journal before winter break: 10%...

So I leave for Columbia today. Been a loooong summer of working, sorry for no updates. Nothing much has happened that you don't already know about.

Anyway I really hope this year is better than last. I think it will be. For one my living arrangement is a gazillion times better. Own room. Own bathroom. Kitchen. Living room. Couches. Basement bonus room. AWESOME!

Don't expect another update for a while maybe. Depends on how the next few days ago.

Seriously. In my University 101 class were supposed to teach the class about something we are good at. I did Ultimate Frisbee like a week ago.

Today, this kid does Bowhunting and brings in a freaking crossbow. Seriously. I don't know why no one stopped him while he was walking around campus with a crossbow, but that's beside the point. Anyway in our class there are two kids who sit across from him(we sit in a circle) and they always poke fun at each other, and we all thought it was in good taste. They each got their pokes in and it was alright.

So anyway, he finishes his presentation and says, "Now to show you how to load it." At this point I am getting ready to use my desk as a freaking shield because I can see him slip and fire. Anyway so he loads a freaking metal-tipped bow and aims it squarely at these two kids. It all fun and games, ya hes fucking with them, blah.

BAM! He fired it. Not on accident. He literally could have split an arrow, he was amazing. He shot it sideways between two people. It glanced off the wall(leaving a gash) and ended stuck in the wall. The two people were stunned, and we were cracking up. Probably due to relief more than humor. It was no accident either. If he slipped or was an inch inaccurate he could have literally killed someone. My teacher shrugged it off, but I will find out later if he got fucking arrested like he should have for attempted murder.

The two kids literally did not say another word the entire class. I am still in shock he actually fired.

Google Earth is free, so considering that, yeah, absolutely, except it's hard to get a joystick to work with it, so you have to use the keyboard and mouse, which is pretty hard.

There are much better flight simulators out there, but they all cost money.

What some call human shields, others would call strategic placement. How many options would you have if the government set up a portable missile battery in your neighborhood and started firing off rockets? Now, say that the retaliation for those attacks doesn't come in the form of a Hellfire AGM that could destroy the missile emplacement with minimal "collateral damage", but a 2000lb guided bomb that levels everything in a 200yd radius...

From a purely practical standpoint, a grieving father is a problem now because, even if he didn't hate Israel before (which is unlikely given the atmosphere) he's going to after the dust settles..only now he's more likely to take up arms against them. A grieving child is a problem 10 years from now for the exact same reason...only you'll have to wait 10 years to find them.

You are absolutely correct in the belief that collateral damage occurs. You can't fire a .22 without having to worry about it going astray. However, a modern fighting force should take steps to minimize that damage, not disregard it entirely. That's what I'm getting at.

    • JeffSon

      Just so there's no confusion.

Collateral damage is a term that gets thrown around by guys who don't want to worry about accepting responsibility for the fact that they just dropped a bomb in a playground during recess. Collateral damage is a term that is supposed to be used to describe accidental deaths, not incidental kills.

It's semantics and double speak. Tell me the difference between targeting a bunch of kids in a building and targeting a building that's full of kids. Also, you can web search and find the number of occupied civilian apartment buildings targeted by the IDF over the past 12 years - start with the bombs they were dropping in Lebanon back in '96. They fully believe that 25 civilian Palestinian deaths is acceptable if they kill one known terrorist. That's collateral damage to them.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not doubting the justification...it's just the level of response that needs to be questioned. Aside from that, stop looking at the moment and examine the long term implications for when this escalates.

I apologize for my conduct earlier, but starting off your argument with "moron" isn't going to be conducive to intelligent debate.

Collateral damage and "targeting children" are two VERY different things.

Semantics, only. The very fact that you'd think there's a difference in the Israeli mindset shows that you haven't done your research. Try again.

    • JeffSon

Blah blah blah. You've already brought your best argument to the table, kid, and you fell far short of the mark.

    • JeffSon

      Ah...one of those.

If that's the best rebuttal you can come up with, you'll have to do a bit better. Come on. Dig deep and really show the world your in-depth understanding of world politics and the wisdom that has come with your years of experience on this planet.

Fuckin' Kool-aid drinking child is all you are. Now go play and let the grown ups talk.

Actually it's funny that you say that. Really, the only way I can get out of the contract is if I can't afford to go there anymore and considering how shitty the economy is right now, I think that that might be a problem for some people.
