Today I was chosen to be part of the elite team of RT SideQuest at RTX 2014.
Don't know what RT SideQuest is? How dare you. Click here to learn ALL of the things.
Basically, RT SideQuest hosts a bunch of really cool and fun events throughout the year to raise money and support for Child's Play. A great bunch of people that love what they do while they do what they love.
I'll be taking part in the planning end execution of events at during RTX 2014 such as the Barlympics (Oh boy am I ready for that), Cocktail Party and Charity Auction. Be sure to pick up your ALL-ACCESS badges over on Ticketbud so you can have a good time with us.
Extremely excited to work with some awesome people and to party it up with all you fine brotatos and galleons! See you at RTX 2014 & RT SideQuest!
We all know the stories that have been told of the legendary Sixth St in Downtown Austin, and last year some of us braved the streets during the Fourth of July. This year we should join together and form an RTX BAR CRAWL a day or two before RTX that features stops and challenges at numerous pubs and bars on Sixth St.
Of course, anyone participating would have to be at least 21 years or older.
That said.. who's in?
Welcome to the Rooster Teeth Design group here on the Rooster Teeth forums!
The meat of this group lies in the discussions we have. Sharing our design approaches, trading our dug up resources, and flaunting our glorious masterpieces of design is what makes this group exist. But, it all begins here. Introduce yourself.
Need a boost? Here use this: Or not.. it doesn't hurt my feelings too much.

Alright so this is my first ever journal entry. I figure unless I have something really awesome to talk about I'll just use my journal entries to show the process I go through when making art (fine art, sketches, painting, graphic design, motion graphics, etc.) and hopefully get some feedback!
The Concept: I wanted to do a self portrait, but in a macabre and grotesque way. This piece used a lot of metaphors to describe a dramatic time in my life.
First I took some photos of myself and using Adobe Photoshop I dismembered my arms and placed them where I wanted them to be. I also removed my face because .. why not .. and it isn't necessary for the final.
Then I projected the edited photo of myself on a wall where I put up a 6 Foot piece of Lenox 100 white paper. I drew on the basic contours that I wanted to use for the shape of my body with graphite.
After that I inked the boldest portions of the drawing with Super Black India Ink.
Then I used the India Ink to do washes to build up some depth on the figure. I used a mechanical pen to do some tight rendering in places that needed it. Then I used three shades of red watercolor paint and filled in the largest areas. In numerous spots I airbrushes (with my lungs) the splatter effects with precision to show directionality. After that I used Prismacolor markers and the mechanical pen to do extremely fine details including rendering of roses, shattering cracks, and other details which you can see some of below.
I'm really happy with the results, but now I just don't know what to do with this 6 foot drawing.
What do you guys think?

This thread is to share all the resources you have come across in your design ventures. The list below is just a list of places to get general resources, but the real GREAT resources come from individual exploration. So whether you have an addition to our list or just a link to a single resource, this is your time to share and discover new tools to harness!
