I have a challenge for you friend.

After reading this journal, stand up from your computer desk and close your eyes. Spin around a few times. Don't be facing the monitor. Open your eyes, and note the very first thing you see.

Whatever it is that you saw, we will be battling to the death and that will be your weapon of choice (put in comments). I will do the same.

    • Nostalgia takes over

I'm doing something special with Kandi tonight. Not saying much else beyond that. But it's got me all nostalgic for all my friends, past and present. I don't make the fact that all my friends save my life at least once a huge secret. And they may not want to believe it - hey, maybe I'm just delusional - but I couldn't get by without these people. I want to give them a journal. It's the very least I can do for them. This is more for them then for you (I'm talking to you, Timor_Kri).

Timor_Kri - UGH, fucking fine Timor_Kri, this guy right here? Unkillable. You can try. That guy though, he can't bloody die properly. It's unbelievable. I got the A-team to skydive from the Millennium Falcon, and they still couldn't get the job done! Bloody fuck, why is it so hard to kill people these days? In the old days it was just point my gun and shoot, but no! Not with the great Timor_Kri! When I go to point my gun and shoot, he IS my gun! This man right here, I have a great respect for. You should too. "You will be assimilated into the herd. Resistance is futile."

Kyra - Kyra is one of the most unique people I've ever met. She came off to me as cold and very set in her ways at first. While I couldn't convince this girl of anything, she's not nearly as cold as she let off to be all that time ago. Underneath the rough, troubled exterior she chose to show to me, there is a person who I admire greatly, for her strengths as well as her weaknesses. "She's no therapist, but she's the rapist."

Jess - More profound then my relationship with Jess itself is the form in which I met her. Now how was I supposed to know that the girl who's comment I modded and pictures of various anime I perused would somehow end up becoming one of my easiest-going, most enjoyable to be around friends in the world? She's seen the worst of me and the best of me (mostly the worst), and she still finds time to unintentionally arouse me with her Australialandian accent. "You deserve better then an irrational person anyway."

Wade - What can I say about this man I know, Wade? What more needs to be said then 'Wade'? That name has come to symbolize everything I aspired to be, and everything I love in a bro. Wade and I have been bros longer then any of the bitches on this list, and he bloody knows it. He's seen me through damn near everything, and I've been with him since day -1. True friendship lies in the devotion. "She's nice and all, but if you had a vagina Chris, you know I'd leave her for you any day."

Emily - Emily is different from all my friends in that I've helped her with just as much as she's helped me. I never expected to have been changed the way I did by this girl. We're nothing alike at all. She's even said it to me. There's just something about her though, she's sweet, but she's more complex then she seems. She's a tragedy. A beautiful, kind, and caring tragedy. "If you were any more blonde, I'd be watching you on Kendra right now."

Alyssa - Love was always a question. I'm still looking for the answer. "Madame Syringe?" "Yuss" "Do you go by something else or is Madame Syringe fine?" "You can call me Kandi :D"

      Your gentle necro-loveslave,
      Christopher

    • I am the HURRICANE!

      sh0ck

You know what'll scare the living shit out of you? Hearing there's a tornado warning in your area... in the middle of a FUCKING HURRICANE.

Mother Nature really doesn't like New Jersey lately... earthquakes, hurricanes... what's next? My money's on tsunami, although we're just as likely to discover some long lost active volcano sitting right under the boardwalk on Seaside. Then when Mt. Guidomijamo (I can see you like what I did there) erupts, we lose about a third of our entertainment industry and most of our tourist industry (cause seriously, who on the east coast goes out of their way to come to New Jersey for anything other then Atlantic City/Wildwood?), and that'll pretty much sink us, then we'll actually have a reason to fucking MOVE! We'll go off and live in some obscure shitstain town in the middle of Missouri, or some other irrelevant place where they still lynch escaped slaves, and live a quiet content life of not being associated with a guido in any way, shape, or form. Yeah, it'll be nice.

What was I saying? Oh yeah, Irene passed through yesterday and I didn't get any sleep at all. We live about an hour or so from the coast, so we got to see most of those projected 100 MPH (almost wrote MPG... would've been a fuel efficient hurricane, at least) winds and 10 inches of rain. While our streets weren't exactly flooded and there was no damage around my area, save for a tree being shifted in my neighbor's house, a few hours ago I could have driven about a half hour or so and have been wading through 3-4 feet of water in the middle of the street. Shit was bad. Step father came back from work today and said he saw a metric fuck-ton of damage around Philadelphia.

So this was the first hurricane of this size in 60+ years... I feel important, y'know? Probably the first time (I'm just going off of what I know, don't hold me to this) that we've had a (noticeable) earthquake and hurricane in New Jersey in the same week. And that's my story :3

ALSO don't forget that this is the last day for voting on the poll I posed earlier in the week! It looks like Danarius is the one leaving, but if you have friends that might be interested in this, shoot them over here and tell them to vote!

    • A Dilemma

I am at an impasse in the fan-fiction. Without giving too many spoilers, one of the party members in Carrian's group (listed in the poll below) has to leave the party during Chapter 3. I will not say why, or how, but only that the party member with the most votes by August 30th will be chosen.

Tell your friends! I want a lot of votes here, plus I want to get the fanfic more popularity. My personal vote goes to Danarius leaving, because I really feel like I can develop the other characters more. I have ideas for all of them, but right now, the decision is up to you.

Edit: In less then 24 hours the voting will close and the fates of the characters will be sealed. If you got friends who might be interested in this, point them here!

We have a special news report from Generic Cable TV News, at roughly 2 PM on August 23rd, 2011, an earthquake of roughly 5.9 magnitude rocked the eastern seaboard. No major injuries or structural damage has been reported, however we do know of one casualty.

Christopher Pitman, who's online alias was 'sh0ck', suffered a death by lack of air intake after laughing himself to death after his mother described her feelings as, 'it felt like a giant army of rats picked the house up and started moving it'.

RIP Christopher Pitman. Gone but not forgotten. Always in our hearts.

This is my favorite little passage from the whole thing so far. It made me cringe while writing it, and really describes the situation that Danarius and Carrian have been put in.

      --

“It’s nice of you to join us once again, friend. Now help me with this wound” Carrian exclaimed, as he pointed with trembling hands at the arrow still lodged in his leg. The arrow was broken from the fall taken in the battle, and it bent and tore the wound further. The blood had seeped into his boot and made his steps gnash and squish upon the ground. The spawn’s blood, miraculously, had not phased it, and he would not die, so long as he could keep it from becoming infected. Danarius gave Carrian a branch he found lying next to the firepit they had made, and Carrian took it and bit down hard on it as he attempted to remove the arrow. The remaining portion of the shaft was short and hard to grip, and as Carrian tried harder to pull it, writhing and crying out in pain, he could only manage to slip on it with his gloves. Danarius noticed the shaft was made of a sort of birchwood, a common Ferelden wood used in arrow making, which was easy to bend without breaking if wet. Danarius took his small canteen and poured what remaining water he had on the protruding end of the arrow, and waited until the wood curled. He took his finger and wrapped the arrow around it, which by itself was enough to cause Carrian great agony. And finally, without warning, Danarius pulled and Carrian fell over in a horrific scream that woke the surrounding forest.

    • Oh no, what is this? Fanfictage?

This, my friends, is a passage from a fanfic I'm working on, set in the Dragon Age universe. I hope y'all enjoy.

      Prologue
      --
The valley was thick with smoke, and blood, and screams, and death. The spawn were quick, far too quick for Carrian’s brigade to react in time. At the center of the carnage, Carrian stood in stunned disbelief that what was happening around him was truly reality, and not a terrible dream. It seemed not but days ago he had high hopes for the coming war. Now, the end seemed a long, treacherous road, one he was not eager to travel. But for him, before he could ever step foot on the path ahead, he had to leave the killing zone at Ostagar alive.
“Carrian! Fall back!” shouted Danarius Broscan, Carrian’s captain and good friend, “we’re regrouping at the base of the Tower of Ishal! Move before you’re killed!”
“Danarius, the spawn have encircled us! The tower’s certainly been cut off!”
“Then move with us! You’re too far ahead of our lines! You’ll be killed!” Danarius shouted back. Carrian would hear none of it. He knew there were units ahead of him, cut off from their comrades, and if staying where he was could tie up enough Darkspawn to give them time to pull back, he would remain. He threw aside his short bow and retrieved from its’ holster his trusted long-blade, and a small buckler for which to deflect incoming blows. He was on a small crest, close to the gates of the Ostagar fortress, overlooking a deep indent in the landscape of the battlefield. He fell backwards and gripped his sword tight as he slid down the slope, a task made easy by what appeared to be near inches of blood on the ground, so thick that your boot sank in the mud when you stepped in it. As he recovered from his maneuver, his armor caked with blood and dirt, the spawn were immediately upon him, and hissed viciously at Carrian as he stood to meet them.
He felled several Darkspawn before he was knocked to the ground by a firm shield. The viscosity of the ground below him made his recovery frantic and exhausting, and when he gathered himself and cut down his attacker, he was no longer recognizable. His long dark hair was covered in the thick ‘substance’ on the ground, and the light, pale skin visible through his armor could no longer be seen, except through an inch wide, hand’s length line across his eyes, to allow him to see. In the haze of the battle, he could barely tell friend from foe. The mad barking of war-hounds, the sickly clash of blade and flesh, the blood-curdling screams of the wounded and dying, it all rang in his ear in one disharmonic tone, and had meshed into what he considered a form of white noise; nothing comprehendible, nothing but instinct and raw nerve guiding his hand.
He pushed forth, striking every foe in his way. He sustained many wounds, but shrugged them off, ignoring them, even knowing full well that if the spawn’s blood seeped into them, he would die. His body ached and trembled when he wasn’t fighting. His legs nearly gave way to the relatively light weight of his sturdy chainmail. But as he fought, his stamina gave way to pure adrenaline, which fueled his vicious attacks and produced loud, guttural cries of pain and conquest. He cursed the spawn’s heathen gods and urged comrades to push forth alongside him. He did this until he realized he had carved his way nearly 20 yards inside Darkspawn lines, and his comrades were being pushed back even further. Suddenly, Carrian was alone. But just as suddenly, he saw scores of men just a few yards ahead of him fighting their way backwards, towards his lines.
“What are you doing, men?” Carrian shouted.
“Retreating! King Cailin lies dead, the Grey Wardens have fallen, and Teryn Loghain’s forces are nowhere to be seen! Escape is our only option!” a soldier shouted back. Carrian nearly collapsed, for it was King Cailin who had knighted him. Not only that, but with their commander dead, and no reinforcements, the battle was lost. Carrian’s mission was no longer to save his king. His mission was to save himself.
Carrian moved swiftly backwards with the soldiers retreating from the battlefield, trying feverishly to avoid direct confrontation with the spawn; he had neither the energy nor the will to continue a fight. He stumbled in the mud as he fled, and walked with a slight limp, due to an arrow taken to his right shin. As he slipped once, the arrow bent and broke against the ground, and Carrian fell and screamed in agony, but eventually crawled the remaining distance behind his comrades. As he did, he sought an infirmary, but was instead lifted to his feet by Danarius Broscan, who had a look on his face as if he had seen the most vile, profane thing the Maker himself had created. Danarius was taller than Carrian, but was far skinnier, and had been accustomed to life working fields in Highever. His medium length brown hair was clumped with dirt and dripping with sweat, and his face was tight and expressionless. An archer at heart, he was wearing only a pair of leather chaps and a rather ill-fitting tunic.
“You’ve got a lot of guts, Carrian,” Danarius said in a rather monotonous voice, “now let’s hope you get to make it out of here with them!”
      “Danarius, the king is—“
“I know!” Danarius interrupted, “and that means we’re getting out of here, now! Can you yet walk?”
“This blasted arrow,” Carrian said, as he writhed in pain from the delicate wound, “I can’t put weight on it!”
“I might just have to drag you out, then.”
“Danarius, go on. You’ve not been hurt. If you’re fast, you can outrun the spawn. Go now… and I can try to tie them up by—“
“Bullshit!” Danarius screamed, “I’m not leaving you behind! Now get on your feet!” Carrian obeyed, and limped alongside Danarius, who slung Carrian’s arm around his neck and helped him move with him. The two followed a foot path below the Tower of Ishal, a large tower overlooking the battlefield where a beacon signaling for reinforcements was lit. As Carrian looked up at the now useless beacon, he swore to himself that he saw a large bird flying over it. He disregarded it as battle fatigue.
As the two trekked up the foot path, behind the ruin of Ostagar and into the Ko

      Continued from last journal...

And then he hit me with it. "Oh no dude, she told me before that she misses me, we're still going out".

You know when you turn on active camo, and the world around you goes silent, and all you can really hear is your breathing and the voice in your head? That's sort of what happened there.

I shut down the Xbox and thought about it a bit, something didn't seem sincere about the way Andrew had told me. And it conflicted with what Sammy had told me, which was that they were done and that Andrew just couldn't accept that. So I asked her the next day if what he said was true, and she told me it wasn't. The relief was beyond what I can say. A few days passed and I just wanted to make sure she was okay, and she seemed to be taking everything well. In the days after it, we were just doing a lot of screwing around in Forge and talking with each other, no rhyme or reason to it at all. I noticed myself getting more and more comfortable telling her things that, up to that point, I had only ever told Kandi (oh, you guys remember her, I'm sure of it). Finally one day I asked her for the reasons she had broken up with Andrew, and she started telling me all these things I had never known. From my perspective before, hearing this shit from Andrew, it was surprising to see what the truth was. I won't go into detail about those things, out of respect, but it made me see how wrong they in fact were for each other. The conversation progressed and somewhere it switched over to what she thought of me, as opposed to him. I swear I didn't bring it up XD

It moved so fast that I found myself compelled to do this. I disregarded that I knew nothing of how she felt and knew nothing of what the outcome of this might be and only regarded the fact that I was so deep in love that it hurt to keep it in. I told her how I felt, every last gritty detail, until I was vented and shaking with fear awaiting a response.

      The result?

A single extended word and smiley.

      "Yesssssssss:3"

And what has that brought me? It brought me this.

      sammmmy.jpg

Samantha Rosehammer, the best thing that's ever happened to me. You guys think I'm hopelessly romantic? Heh, you're probably right.
