I feel incredibly proud of myself for this monumental achievement... until I think about all the other things I was supposed to be doing...

One more thing out of the way.

Nailed my final project for my security class. When I sat down to work on my DNS spoofing project It probably only took me 30-45 mins, but then I lost a few more hours finding out all the other things the tool could do smiley8.gif (on a virtual network of course). When I presented in class everything when of perfectly. My project basically just redirected a client computer when it tried to go to www.facebook.com to a fake site under my control.

The other projects were interesting to see. I think my two favorite was someone doing a man-in-the-middle attack that let you see any image the target sees when they go to a webpage, and Steganography, hiding data in another file (for example hiding a program in a picture file).

Tomorrow is finals for Critical thinking (easy as hell) and then the day after will be my final exam for my security class.

Where does all my time go...

I hate how little I've been active here lately. Work (well internship, so not really work) and school have been keeping me crazy busy. I guess I can't be complaining too much because I've been learning a bunch of cool stuff that I really love doing. I just wish I had time for all the other stuff I love doing smiley4.gif .

My horror games series is on pause for right now (I did not quit!), and I've cut being on here to once or twice a week.

Lately I've been learning Network Security (Currently doing a project on DNS spoofing/poisoning and how to prevent it) and at work I've learned how to create sites with Drupal due the person who was supposed to do it took to long, so they turned it over to us IT interns.
      Drupalsupport_0.png
I also supposed to be building a database in the near future, but they haven't yet set me the details on it. Nether of these are really "I.T." related, but having more skills to put in a resume defiantly doesn't hurt :D

      Well, shoot...

Here I was thinking I had plenty of time to record the next video for my horror series... Next up was SCP-CB, but the game won't start and I'm (almost) out of internet for the day. Looks like I get to do another round of editing and recording in one Night.

The good news is I at least simplified the process of recording with my randomly assorted (mostly free) programs and fixed the issue with one program not wanting to use my mic. And worse comes to worse I have a backup plan ready to go of a game I'm planning on skipping and coming back to later.

      Successful Day

Did I get ahead on my homework, no
Did anything huge happen at work (besides finally getting a parking spot): no
Did I organize the chaos I call my house: no

I started my horror game series on YouTube :).

Not a huge amount of people saw it, but that expected. I'm a new face on youtube (from a video maker side anyway) and it is a brand new series.

But my test audience gave me good comments back and said they do want me to continue making more. I got a list of a few things I need to work on for next one, but overall nothing major (some requested more bass especially since it was SLENDER, and shorten some stuff up), just good things that well help it get better.

The video for next week have more preparation into it, (this one only had one actual day of recording and filming, and the second day for rendering and uploading) so that will be good.

If you are interested the channel is Horror(ble) Games on YouTube, there is also a link to this week's video on my links.

      Rendering...

I today I got a taste of what the video editors over at roosterteeth do and a daily basis, and even saying taste might be overestimating it XP.

I finally recorded the beginning of the horror games series (I settled on the name Horror(ble) Games). And Have spend the last hour rendering, realizing I for got something, re-rendering, then compressing the video file. And this is only done with the thrown together quality my laptop can manage, not the setup they got a Roosterteeth.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the video up on Youtube, Please check it out :D.

edit: crap, watching the video it added a random effect that I DON'T want in there... one more render :/

      Review: Dawnguard and Hearthfire

      Dawnguard:
Really late, but I finally got it ;).

Overall Dawnguard is pretty descent DLC and worth its price. The new content if phenomenal. The new set of dragon bone weapons finally give you something to do with all of those dragonbones (yes I'm looking at you Skyrim Hoarder) and the crossbows are a nice touch for the warrior types (Though I still prefer my bow with my assassins).

Of course the two greatest pieces in this DLC are the Vampire Lord and the companion you have through most of the vampire clan quests. After serveral games, Bethesda finally found away to make vampires not suck, in fact they are now a viable play-style even for non-rp'ers. The vampire lord ability gives the player a compilation of new special abilities that gives Elder Scroll Vampires the boots they really need.

      dawnguard5.31.12610.jpg

The other surprise (for me) is that Bethesda created a rather engaging follower. Serana possess a character depth that is fairly uncommon or a Bethesda NPC, let alone a follower. Though much of the quest-line you take on a role as her protector. (though she isn't the best I've ever seen in an elder scrolls game. If you have Oblivion for PC check out Simyaz's Ruin Tail's Tale mod and some of his other work.)

The story line on the other hand, was quite lacking. Though Dawnguard was a great mod in terms of content, and gave you a lot to do, its story telling wasn't up to par with some other skyrim quest-lines. It started off rather well, but eventually started pulling at too many lore elements that didn't feel like they really fit together (soul gems, necromancy, elder scrolls, falmer, skooma dens, etc). So we are still waiting for a DLC quest-line that matches Shivering Isles.

      HearthFire:

At first the price of $5 scared me, bring back horrible memories of house armor... but luckly those fears were false. Hearthfire doesn't add nearly as much content as Dawngaurd, but a good addition if you have a character who is hauling around more gold than they know what to do with.

      hearthfire-house.jpg

The mod add 3 plots of land (which can be purchased at Falkreath, Dawnstart, and Morthal) where you are able to build your own estate with a few customization choices. Each estate is made up of a small house (later turns into entry hall), a Main keep, an east wing, a west wing, and a north wing. For each wing you have three different choices of what you want the wings to be (I won't list them here, but they are listed on many of the wiki sites), Each house being bigger than any of the city houses. You also having the option of having a fishery, a farm, a bee farm, and even your own forge.

The second feature of Hearthfire is the ability to adopt children. Children can now be adopted from riften's orphanage, or homeless children in any of the holds. Children who start with parents but lose them in some way (Which is quite possible now, between vampire attacks and dragons...) can also be adopted.

Hearthfire is great for anyone who like rp and is worth the $5. However, if you are just looking for quests and new content you can skip this one and not lose any sleep.

      So behind...

      Long Week (and more ahead)

Is been a while since I've been on. And I feel like I'm losing touch with the awesome community here.

One of the reasons I've been so busy is that I just landed a job last week! I got a paid internship as an I.T. support and am starting out by designing a database solution in Microsoft Access and SQL. On top of that I still have my normal classes, so I've had only enough time to listen to the podcasts and watch the latest episode of RvB. Most of my other time has been going to sleeping, HW, and fixing friends and families computers (speaking of witch I have to solder on a new DC port for my girlfriend's laptop smiley4.gif )

In other news, I might be starting a series of playthroughs of me playing though a few horror games. I finally have everything set up and working and finished making the "title sequence" now I just need to sit down a play some horror games

      the current line up is
Slender (if i don't start with it, I figure someone would ask for it anyway)
      SCP
      S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP (with MISERY mod)
Alice (? if I can find it and its freaky enough)
      Amnesia
(another one made by the same people as amnsia but the name escapes me at the moment)
and Left 4 Dead (If i can convince my friend to play with me... they are terrified of zombies....)

@legato2d thank you for the lists of games, I'll be checking some of them out. You rock!

If anyone else has a game that is really freaky, go ahead and leave it in the comments.

Also still need a title for the series XP, Ideas?

  • About Me

I am a 19 year old college student going for a degree in I.T. Video games and computers have always played a huge role in my life, I've probably been on the computer since I was 3 years old, and playing video games shortly after.

Besides a gamer I am also a martial artist, and have been training since I was 8 years old. My base style is American Taekwondo. I also know American kick boxing, Pieces of Krav Maga(plus other defense styles), and a little bit of wushu. I also have 6-7 years of katana training (samurai sword) and am qualified to teach sword basics.

I am doing a horror game series on YouTube: Horror(ble) Games

Hey, nice work on the Bane/Iron Man/Cat picture. However, I regret to inform you that it was only a test. I figured if anyone responded to my post, they would have used cartoons to work with. Now, here's the real challenge, since you have proven yourself very good with photoshopping. I still would like Iron Man attacking Bane with cat pulsar rays, but realistic. I mean Robert Downey Jr. Iron man attacking real life Bane with real life cats. As if this wasn't difficult enough, I have a "no Batman & robin Bane" rule. Up for the challenge?

I meant from the movie trailers from the new one coming out. I think that would be best, but it's just preference. You're the one making it happen.

So i'm back, and I've found some stuff that might work. Question though: "Real Life Bane" do you mean from the movie trailers or a Cosplay. And is the Bane you want the one from the new movie coming out?

All I can tell you about the Dick Harrell Martial Arts Seminar is that there was a few JKD combos in there. But what he was implying for his version of JKD is to take what we did of the few JKD combos, Silat, Kali, and anything from Muay Thai that you feel you can do really well and make it something to your liking. When we worked on grappling and brought someone down to the ground, he showed us so many different ways to attack people based on the position, if we like hitting, hit the face this way, elbow there, or break his arm this way, dig your toes into a couple pressure points while breaking the arm.

It was a really good seminar and I left sore as hell and I had learned a lot. My skills in Muay were increased a lot. Its one of those things that you have to experience for yourself and I would jump on it if the chance ever arises.

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by and for the mod! I kind of want to dress my kitty up as Zelda now, or maybe Sheik because she is white, hmmm... =p

By the way, I just read you have practiced Krav Maga; I saw this video a week or so ago and thought it was really awesome. I think this was the first time I'd heard of Krav Maga at least consciously; what an amazingly effective martial art, oooohhh....

Thanks for the video link! I have practiced a bit of karv. Though my school is a taekwondo school, they take most of their self-defense moves from Krav Maga. I not nearly at the leave that this guy is, and I can't do some of the more "acrobatic" moves (even if i could i don't think they would work well for me, I'm really tall, I would probably just end up smacking my head on the ceiling XP) but a lot of the striking defenses as well as the knife and gun defenses are taught almost exactly the same way at my school.

They are so similar in fact that I'm starting to wonder who my instructors got their krav training from, I should ask them when I get the chance. Wouldn't surprise me if this guy does a lot of self defense seminars.
