I wanna play Left for Dead, but I'm a bit lazy when it comes to goin' out and buyin' shit.

It came back the other day, but it sucks 'cuse meh boyfriend has Fallout 3 so I'm still stuck wiff playin' it on the PC.. not that it's gonna be fun anyway, fuckin' corrupt files...
I played Call of Duty for a few minutes while my brother in law was gettin' himself food. If I haven't been playin' so many RPGs then I prolly woulda kicked ass XD I wasn't used to the controls at ALL

No MSN and I don' accept friend request until peoples has read meh friend policy. I'm stubborn like that XD

Raaah, that sucks! People need to stop renting/borrowing it and buy it!

I'm not even sure if the Pitts is out yet. Once I get my 360 back and some more Microsoft points, I'll have to buy it and tell ya. I'm just happy that in Pitts you can actually choose what karma path you're takin'

Eh, more more dyin' to get some MS points so I can get me the Pitts expansion pack. hoorah for Raider town *happy dance*

How's your epic Fallout quest been?

I figured out that it starts happenin' after you save a ton of times. I'm just startin' over.

I don't want operation much.. get good karma from it.. I guess I'd do it with my good karma part then

If you're looking to go as high quality as possible (HD) you have two main options.

If you have a fairly new, well above average powered desktop (as in RAM speed and CPU speed/processing power) you'll want to get your hands on a Blackmagic Intensity. It's $250, is a PCIe internal card, captures in raw HD AVI, and is what Rooster Teeth uses for all their stuff. It's pretty much the highest quality you can manage with video game footage, anything more is overkills.

If you DON'T have the above mentioned machine, for example if you work off of a laptop, and you still want HD quality, you want to get the Hauppauge HD PVR, a USB 2.0 device that captures and monitors (as in cords come out of the card and allow you to play on a TV while the card captures) up to 1080i (the same quality the Intensity captures in). It uses the latest H.264 encoding (the Blu-Ray codec), and captures beautifully. It's what I use (at least until I have a desktop that can run the Intensity RT sent me). Here's an example of the quality (the jitter is due to my own re-encoding of the video). Click the link to the HD page for the 720p encode. The HD PVR is currently PC only.

The lone disadvantage the device has is that unlike the Blackmagic Intensity it compresses the video as it captures, whereas the Intensity does not (AVI is the rawest form of video, it is literally a series of pixel-data images mixed with waveform sound, retaining perfect colour and audio at the cost of massive file size and processor use). The disadvantage of this compression is that instead of saving the content of every frame, the H.264 codec only saves the DIFFERENCE between frames, effectively making every frame with movement a combination of two images and massively reducing the filesize. To the human eye it appears identical, but the same type of compression (saving the difference between frames) is present in every consumer and web codec you'll use as a final version of the edited video. Then the video will be encoded a third time in a similar way by most hosting services (YouTube, for example).

All in all, the human eye cannot, in most cases, tell the difference, even after 3 compressions. The exception is when there is an above typical amount of movement. When there is a large difference between frames in the first compression (the capture) that difference is re-encoded (your final encode) with the surrounding frames involved again, and an even further difference is then in the video, and then the same process happens again (on YouTube, etc), producing what is effectively a blur of difference information shown for a few frames, and you can often pick it out of a video. It's because of this that RvB is captured in raw AVI and only encoded once, by Rooster Teeth, before they host that version of the video on the website and use their own player to stream the video.

However, none of this matters if you're not looking to pay $250 for a capture card. If you're looking to go cheaper (and most people do), I recommend, against every fiber of my being, the Pinnacle Dazzle line of devices. Specifically this one for PC, and this one for mac. The reason I don't like recommending them is because, although cheap, they tend to have some issues, and aren't the highest quality cards out there. They're certainly not BAD (Knuckles uses the one for Mac for AH videos and DigitalPh33r uses a previous generation Dazzle), and they get the job done, but they're incompatible with almost every program not made by pinnacle, and there are many stories of capturing issues, especially on non-North American settings (PAL, SECAM typically). Canopus has better cards, but they're for the most part fire-wire connected and in the $200 range, and if you're willing to spend that much on a standard def card, an HD card makes a lot more sense for $50 more. The Dazzle is probably the best "bang for your buck" capture card on the market outside of the two mentioned HD cards. It uses a lower quality version of the same encoding principle that the HD PVR does (either MPEG-2 or MP4, although I believe the most recent version of Pinnacle Studio, their capture and editing program, can convert the captured video into AVI in real time for editing purposes, although the compression remains).

      Hope that helps.

Umm, nothing. I'm actually still working on getting my own equipment. But you can find a lot of stuff online. You will need either a video capture card for your computer or some sort of camcorder setup. You'd be better off asking one of these guys if you want to do video stuff. Right now I'm just writing game reviews in my free time for the site. Geoff just linked on of them in his latest news post. Feel free to check those out and ask me if you have any other questions.

He should get a hold of my harddrive.. fuckin' microsoft sayin' my system is too getto for fixing..

If you haven't already been, you can go to the Old Olney place and kill a shit load of deathsclaws there. It's in the northeast courner of the map, the slighly lighter area.
There's also the deathclaw sanctuary in the northwest

Lawl, 360 down and I'm still memorizin' shit XD I also installed it in my comp, so I'm startin' from scratch. Not that I wouldn't have to anyway, fuckin' shit on my hard drive.. the saves got corrupt, so I lost my level 17 bad karma D:
Is it possible to have all your achievements deleted after the RROD? 'cuse all sorts of shit happened when I put my hard drive into my friend's 360

XD that's what happens when you get me addicted to a game, I figure a shitload of things out, that's why a ton of my friends ask meh for help. I'm so pissed though, 'cuse my comp just got the Red Ring of Death D: D:
Also, a good idea is to pick up any random junk you can find 'cuse eventually you'll get skematics and you'll need that random shit, buuuut you won't be able to find it anymore XD Took me forever to find a lawnmower blade and I'd seen like.. 50 of them before I got the skimatic XD
Collecting Deathclaw hands is also a good idea :3

What I do is I pick up random shit that a doctor would but.. or anyone since most people sell the stimpacks anyway.. and trade it.. so I don't really pay for the things.
Usually I collect enough ammo where I can trade it for the packs :3 ALMOST LIKE GETTIN' IT FER FREE!! since I don't use that ammo XD

      lawl, I'm pretty good, you?

Bad or good karma are easy, it's neutral karma that's pretty hard, though. Just have to be careful what you do and how much damage that would do to karma.

I won't accept your friend request until you real my friend policy, but I will accept the one for live.

If you're a low level, you'll want to explore more, get some XP so that when you get farther into the story line the super mutants don't tear you appart in a matter of seconds. What level are you right now?
Aaaaand out of curiosity, good, neutral, or bad karma?
