... and yet when I open up my page it says I have at least one update. Site updates really do mess things up, don't they?
Oh well, it's not the biggest inconvenience the site has given me before since I normally check stuff manually to see if any older posts and journals get buried by newer ones.
As for me, not much has changed. Plenty of stuff happened though!
Sakura Con 2018 came and went a few weeks ago. I haven't posted my pics online yet, I've been a little too lazy to do so. Honestly, compared to previous years this con was pretty calm. Not as much seemed to be happening event wise but given how last year was the 20th anniversary and they went all out for that any follow ups would be considered weak.
Despite that, this year was more fun since a couple of friends who hadn't been before finally came this year! It was a first time to a con for one of them as well and needless to say he was blown away. "Spent ~$700" he said; probably could've spent a little less if I hadn't pointed out a Tae Takemi body pillow cover at the artist alley. Actually, why didn't I buy that?...
And remember how I said my cat passed away? Well, at the closing ceremony the winning AMV for the year was about a girl and her cat set to that one song from Toy Story 2. Yeah, I was in tears by the end of that. Funnily enough though, some girls behind me realized that during the reel of other AMV winners in other categories that they pretty much knew the overall winner and would probably start crying right away. They did.
Before the con, like pretty much right after my last journal actually, my DnD group met up while I was a no-show. I did a 5k race early that morning and was staying at my aunt's house, so after I got back I collapsed on the couch and slept most of the day. Had them continue without me thinking they'd be fine.
Next day I get the news that everyone died because they followed a creepy god's plan to get back home... Via getting their souls sucked out so he could blow the hell out of some other dimensions connected via the magic elevators we utilised.
Are you fucking kidding me?
So we're starting a new campaign next week after the DM had some time to plan. We're actually going back to the world of the campaign previous to this one that we thought was eternally screwed over but apparently a "chosen one" was born that fought back the darkness and the gods reigning over it and actually won. We were *supposed* to do something similar but messed up and got killed instead.
BUT WE'RE FINALLY SOMEWHAT BACK ON TRACK FOR THE VIDEO GAME BACKLOG OF 2018!!!!
NieR Automata: Endings A-Z achieved and a Platinum Trophy
Fire Emblem Warriors: story mode done, but still plenty of content left to complete
Shin Megami Tensei 4 Apocalypse: Ok, not done yet but I'm definitely at the very last, final there-can't-be-anything-more boss fight. Struggling a little because he has at least two phases and partway through phases one he drains my team and I of HP and MP. Recovering MP midbattle sucks so by phase two he just picks us off and I'm pretty sure buffs don't carry over. Fight isn't terribly hard, just tedious since phase one is kind of a story set up for the real fight.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor DLC - I came back two year later to finally follow up on the Lord of the Hunt and Bright Lord stories. Had to get readjusted to the controls since NieR controlled so smoothly and Mordor felt... Like a brick tied to pigeon. It felt slow and unrefined since that makes more sense than my analogy.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Remix for PS3: time to finally get back to this series, especially since one of my friends keeps bugging me to so yet he won't get off Hearthstone to go through his backlogs of games and shows. Just started today as Ventus.
