So a couple of months ago one of my professors asked me and another student if we wanted to use some of the other samples she had collected over the years along with some of the other professors samples to do some research and now it looks like we will be going to present, provided we are finished in time, at the Society for American Archaeology conference in Honolulu in April.

I think it might be getting near time for me to be a sponsor again. For one it would let me post pictures again. For another it would prompt me to use the site more since im paying for it. Now to just get through the semester.

Its been a long while since I last posted and its been even longer since I was truely active on the site, yes I have been lurking but I havnt been really active on the site and it has ment a great deal to me over the years. I have experienced low points over the years and have had some caused by people on here and been helped through others by people on here and it has been one hell of a ride. I have taken detours in life and I am by no means where I thought I would be at this point but it is moving along.

I look around and see that alot of the people that I considered friends are now gone and several of those only exist now as names on my list and I find myself missing them and I am glad for the few that remain. I may not be here as much but I am still very much here and I am watching.

Schools been interesting one AA applied for and another one about to be applied for as well as transfer to the CSU system, looks like its down to cultural anthro or archeo. Hil is doing well so far in her classes, if she can just handle the math she may be able to pull off chemistry when the time comes.

Getting burnt out already this semester, lots of memorization in physical anthropoloty lab, linguistics and EMT, not to mention CPR/AED certification is on wednesday, this all makes chem seem easy.

The concert was good once the band I went to see got on stage, I really didnt care much for the 3 local bands or the $22 we spent on luke warm burgers that took 40 minutes to get to us.

Thanks for the support. I'm officially starting my training tomorrow morning. I currently have one 1/2 marathon and two full marathons I will be running in in the next year and a half. There's a lot of work to do, but I finally have the confidence to get off my ass and do it. :)

I could kill him myself if I wanted him dead. He's so fucking frail, I could probably snap him like a twig without exerting much effort.

Thanks, though. It's nice to know I'm not a complete freak. :)

25% will go to second place, 15% will go to third place. I just didn't think it was worth mentioning, since I'm going to win. :)

I hope not, us TWOT fans already suffered the loss of Jordan before he could finish his epic series. Don't want to see it happen again.

Dang, I feel like a jealous asshole, hoping someone does not die before they manage to finish a book series. Oh well, nobody is perfect.

My grandfather was a lt col and my uncle was a 1 star (turned down a second) and it has passed down the family, almost everyone has kept it and those that didnt wished they had later.

Same with my family. My grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather were all in the army. I don't know anything about my father's family but he was set on joining the air force before I was born. I am in the air force now, and my little brother is planning on enlisting also once he graduates.

I was planning on using them, and your recommendation does not hurt. =)

I am happy to see you doing well in the airforce I have had several family members serve and it did well for them all and im sure it will do well for you as well.
One tip for you that should help you in the long run, be good to USAA and it will be good to you and your family, its the best bank and insurance you can get.

Aye, nearly all my instructors swear by them.

22 years is great!! I am so sorry. I know that is the most heart breaking experience. So very sorry.

There is a great book. Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates by Gary Kurz. It helped me when we had to put Poe down.

We are doing fine, luckily living on the 'safe side' of town away from the most dangerous hillsides. The road crews and power crews are busy making repairs all over the place and things are getting back to normal. The schools have reopened and although we still have a foot of snow on the lawns the roads have cleared up some and the melting has slowed to a decent rate without flooding.

We live in the boondocks, these girls are 17 1/2 and 18 years old, by that time in their age they're sure to know how to build a fire in a fireplace or wood stove as alot of homes use that source of heat as a secondary if not primary heat source during the winter as wood is a plentiful here in the rainforest! This home is their hangout to play xbox rock band as well as alot of other video games and my hubby went over to make sure they had plenty of kindling chopped up and refreshed their firebuilding knowledge! Daughter is also working at training their kittens.

      Car Wars.

it was neither a rpg or the card game, even though Car wars had versions of each.

This was the version with counters on a board or a map.

Hubby's mother is an enabler to his half sisters drug addiction and her daughter (hubby's neice) has gone down the same path with her granny enabling her as well. It's a disfunctional family magnified, I seriously don't think his dad's side of the family could be worse! I always have held true to the belief that all the hubby's good qualities had to have had some genetic code passed on from his real father. There was a time when he got to know my father and saw the kind of relationship we had as adults that he wanted to find his own father, now he's worried it's too late or his dad might think he wants more than just to know him!

    • travlr

Thank you for the journal comment---you gave me a new perspective to the discussion in trying to convince the hubby to resume the search for his dad. I told him that I wanted to at least get a family medical history to help the daughter in future concerns of that type. There is so much on my side of the family as far as cancer, diabetes and heart disease that if it's also on his dad's family genetics then she'll be more informed!

An old trick they used in the days of root cellars-------once the carrots are grown in regular soil, you pull them out and stick them in a barrell ar large bucket of cool sand and store in a cool place like the root cellar or basement, they will stay fresh all winter long! Alas at the time of planting I was restricted on how many pots I had available and the hubby wanted to save room to pull the grill out from under the eave to cook on the deck---next year I'll be sure to plant some, however the lady across the street didn't have much luck with her tomatoes this year- so I'm trading for carrots, apples and Italian plums!

actually i think it's because the Canadian dollar is weakening. they should move the sets to upstate NY were there is a tax cut for tv studios and shows being filmed in NY.

    • gooniewench

on gateworld they said it was because it was getting too expensive to continue shooting new episodes of it.

    • gooniewench

i know it's been canceled, and that it's last episode will be a 2 hour tv movie on a fucking channel that i don't get and they are starting another spin off series called Stargate:Universe in January as soon as Atlantis is off the air. It pisses me off.
