So my DnD character has been doing good so far, but I figure that if she dies, I need a backup plan, or I'm going to be caught with my pants down. So I decided to start by drawing the character. One thing led to another, and now I have seven. Each is represented by a Greek symbol, a character trait, and an element. I don't have Actual names yet for most of them, but here's the idea I have so far...

A long time ago, there was a time of peace. That peace was held for a millennium by the rulers of the seven ancient kingdoms of Atracia. All was good with the world.

Unbeknownst to them however, a dark wizard by the name of Silas was gaining power beyond the borders of this peaceful continent. Silas used his powers of necromancy and tyrannical policies to turn his homeland into a barren hellscape. When none dared oppose him, he declared himself Grand Emperor of the newly created Silia. But this power was not enough to satiate the wizard's hunger. He set his sights on the Altracian continent, and began his assault.

When he struck, the wanton murder and destruction was too much. Everyone knew that no one country could muster enough forces to fight this dangerous foe. The kingdoms banded together to make one last stand against the Grand Emperor. Each Kingdom sent an army to confront and destroy Silas once and for all.

The battle lasted many days. They fought valiantly, but alas it was not enough. Just when all hope was lost, a man or woman from each country stepped out of the haze of war. Though their names have been lost to time, their symbols have been passed down for generations. The Seven stepped out of the grasps of their dead allies, uniting from many countries into one unified order. Through their cunning, heroism, bravery, and courage, they defeated the dark wizard Silas, and order was restored to the land.

With Silas thought dead, the Seven departed, swearing to always come to the aid of the hopeless in the darkness of oppression. The Seven stayed out of the public eye, waiting for the return of a great evil which may never have even come. Eventually, they other diverged across the continent, living their own lives, and waiting for the call to action by the monk Alpha.

For five thousand years, peace spread over the land, and in time both the Grand Emperor and the Seven were long forgotten. The Seven's heirlooms, the pieces where their powers were kept, were passed on to their children, generation after generation until their purpose was forgotton. Until one day...

A bit of a cliche at the end I know, but I can't spoil a story I haven't written yet. Anyway, time for a character intro for the original Seven.

Alpha - The Wind Monk of Memory
Kind, elderly, and wise, Alpha was the guiding force under which the original Seven were led. He had the gift of remembering even the smallest of details, even under the extreme duress of war. He was a master tactician, and it was his plan that ultimately led to the death of Silas.

Gamma - The Water Cleric of Clarity
A mother figure to most everyone she took under her wing, Gamma was a peaceful woman, who always preferred compromise to violence. Her gift was that of a seer, as she was given visions that told her when those around her were in danger. When Omega and Delta were wounded in the fight, it was her expertise that kept him well enough to live another day

Delta - The Forest Druid of Harmony
A rugged young man, and never seen far from his falcon companion Shar'oc, he believed that all living things were fundamentally connected, and that the only thing that can come of harming another was pain and suffering for everyone and everything. When Silas was preparing to execute Delta, Shar'oc distracted him, sacrificing herself in the process. This gave enough time for Delta to offbalance Silas and crawl away from the fray to Gamma's side. He never truly got over the death of his companion.

Sigma - The Poison Assassin of Dread
A man whose actions spoke louder than his words, Sigma was the kind of assassin that preferred the slow death of poison to the fleeting death of the blade. Regardless, he was skilled with a dagger, and often poisoned his own blade anyway. He never killed for money, and never killed an unjust soul in his entire life. It was his dagger that wounded Silas enough for Theta to land the final blow

Theta - The Ice Warrior of Reason
Always the voice of logic among the unreasonable, Theta was a woman who saw all the possible ways that a situation could end, and did her damnedest to make sure they played out favorably. As a woman of deep convictions as well, she couldn't stand the sight of injustice. Hers was the sword that ultimately struck down the dark wizard.

Xi - The Lightning Rogue of Shadows
Young, with quick wits and quicker fingers, this man spent many of his days taking from the haves of the world and returning to the have-nots. He had the special ability to hide anywhere, from the crowds of a city to the shadows of a back alley. Never once was he caught in his escapades. It was this talent that he used to land the first of the three blows on Silas before being knocked out cold with a swift punch to the jaw

Omega - The Flaming Sorcerer of Revenge
Omega was a hot headed young woman who took pleasure in manipulating those around her to get what she wanted. While her true intentions within the Seven were never truly understood, she was the first injured in the final battle with Silas, only managing to loose a single fireball before Silas silenced her and cut a gash in her side. She was dragged out of the fight by a worried Alpha before Theta and Sigma landed their crippling blows.

That's all I got for now. Whew, that's a reader. Anyway, I have a few plot elements of the "Until one day" worked out in my head, but nothing concrete as of right now. Stay tuned for more of this story as it develops. smiley0.gif

So I just found out that we're going to be moving in the nearish future. We're staying in the same school district at least, but we're not entirely sure we can keep the same speed of internet. It's also going to be a smaller house, and that means that my recordings will have to either be significantly quieter or stopped altogether. While that puts a bit of a damper on my mood, it doesn't have the same short term effect of realizing that I have to clean every part of the house I've ever been in. I just finished my room, which wasn't too bad, but now I have to finish organizing my magic cards...

So I just finished playing Katawa Shoujo on a friends suggestion, and OH MY GOD!!!! My heart! You know what? Take my feels! I don't need them anymore! Its a hard game to explain, just google it if your curious. Needless to say, its a very emotional game, and I did tear up at the end of it.

Some cool new 3DS games coming out soon. I've always been a fan of the Fire Emblem series, something about the strategy, the story, and the threat of permadeath has always kept my attention. When I heard there's a new FE game coming out in February, I decided that I may have a chance to dust off my old portable system and give it a go. Can't wait til the 4th.
