Good article that's worth a read. Nothing too new here, but a good amalgamation of it all

I've come to the conclusion that people downvote things on the RT thread (and others) because you can't see who is casting the downvote. The original poster can only see who liked their posts, not who downvoted them. If they could see each and every person who downvoted them, I think there'd be fewer downvotes and possibly less trolling as well.

This is a forum game that's similar to Gavin or Google. I'm going to start a sentence. The next person to post must both finish the sentence I started and then post the first part of a sentence for the next person to respond to and so on and so forth. Okay? Let's try this out....

I don't own a PS4 or Xbox One currently. However, what I do own is a PlayStation hoodie that I got when I used to work at Sony Santa Monica. This hoodie is very comfortable and warm and since it's finally gotten to "I can't wear shorts 100% of the time" weather here in LA, I've started wearing it more often. However, now every cashier, waiter, clerk, etc... that sees it asks me, "So, how's the PS4?" or "Did you get a PS4? Do you like it?" and I'm forced to say, "Nope, this is just a jacket I got from when I worked at Sony."

However, this has led me to wonder, do people think you get a free hoodie when you get a PS4? Like, is that the deciding factor? "Hon, I was gonna get an Xbox One, but then I saw you get a free hoodie with a PS4 so I decided on that since winter is coming up."

Just looked at my last journal and I'd like to say that Havok and I were able to patch things up. We're now getting along like 2 peas in a pod. It's weird bouncing back and forth between Havok and nCloth, but since I've been using Havok almost exclusively since my last journal posting it's been easier to wrap my head around and I've been spending a lot more time with it.

In other news, we still can't announce what project we're working on or who we're working with. Fantastic. And GDC 2014 tickets just went on sale. Hopefully we'll be able to talk about things by then otherwise it'll be another GDC of "I'm working on an unannounced next-gen title" which gets pretty lame pretty quickly. At least people there tend to understand since they are familiar with NDAs, but it's still not as fun as talking about the actual project you're on.

Here's the deal, Havok. We both like each other. I like you and you like me, so that's settled. However, what that other artist did to you wasn't my fault. Okay? I understand that that person hurt you. But I'm here to fix all that. So, help me. Help me to help you. Don't just keep shearing that one edge loop for no reason and give me no feedback in the debugger. That's not helping me. So, we gonna do this because I have some code to write and at least one character that needs some re-rigging?

      No?

Well, fuck you then, Havok! I'm going home and, hopefully, after having the night to think about it, you'll realize who your real friends are; who are the people trying to help you and make everything pretty.

As much as I like the new Achievement Hunter shows (Go and Hunt) I gotta say.......they ripped me off. Before people get riled up, let me explain.

About 2 years ago I met Jack at Comic-Con and that was really awesome. We talked for about 10-20 minutes about what I was working on (at this point I was at Sony Santa Monica working on God of War: Ascension) and the stuff they were working on at Achievement Hunter. I mentioned that I liked the Lets Plays and some of the other stuff they were doing, but felt like they didn't really have any "challenge" shows. Jack was quick to point out that they had Horse/Pig in Halo (Vs wasn't out yet and I'm not sure if Trials Pig/Horse had debuted yet). I told him that's not what I meant and that the show I was looking for was similar to the video game challenge in the movie "The Wizard" where the kids have to play a variety of games in order to win the competition (score X many points in Rad Racer, do something in some other game, and beat the first world of SMB 3, is my hazy memory of that challenge from "The Wizard"). Jack told me he thought that was a cool idea, but that they didn't have enough people on staff to do that show (this was way before Ryan, Lindsey, and JJ started doing AH stuff). We shook hands and parted ways. Now, I see a show called "Hunt" and it's basically the show I had described to Jack when I met him, except now it's 4 rounds instead of the 3 I suggested.

About a year ago, I, like so many others, jumped on the Ray bandwagon and he quickly became one of my favorite AH people to watch and listen to. Then, he had a Game Time with Burnie where he talked about his love of the RT/AH community and his inability to think of a show to do all on his own (other than guides). So, I wrote a message and sent it to Ray via the RT site with the idea for a show I thought he could do all on his own. I called it "Ray-chievements" and the premise of the show would be that every week, Ray would take a suggestion from the community, whom he loves, for a task in a video game to complete. This task would be similar to an achievement without being an actual achievement (otherwise, Ray would have to complete the game because that's just the type of gamer he is). These tasks could be things like "No scope shoot someone in the groin in CoD" or "Perform 50 tricks in a row in Tony Hawk 2" or something similar. Now this idea has been slightly changed (opened to the whole AH staff rather than just Ray, but no more community suggestions) and re-packaged as "Go".

In short, I have no way of proving that they were even listening/reading when I told them about my show ideas. Maybe they forgot, maybe they didn't, and maybe someone had already suggested both of these long before I ever talked to anyone from RT. I am glad that the shows are now being made, regardless of who came up with the original ideas for them.

My new idea for a Ben and Jerry's ice cream is called Trick or Treat. Basically it's just vanilla ice cream with an assortment of random Halloween candy thrown in. However, one in a thousand is apple ice cream with raisins.

The new Steam controller looks pretty good so far. Would like to see more FPSs and ports of 3D platformers or something like the new Tomb Raider, but the demo of Counter Strike was comforting

So I want to start making and distributing Nuko-Cola (take that one letter difference Bethesda lawyers!). Not only that, but I want to create a website that let's you trade Nuko-Cola bottle caps for stuff. But not the type of stuff you usually trade tickets for at an arcade, real stuff. Stuff like axes, shovels, canned rations, matches, etc...

Basically, the whole thing would be to see if Fallout players catch on and start thinking that the world might be ending soon.
