I don't know about anyone else but I love when people give me information one day and the very next day they can't decide whether that particular bit of info was correct or not. I was told yesterday that we are going to be out of pipe as of tomorrow due to this issue:

One of our pipe providers is Fort Worth Pipe, and they receive their pipe by train. Once the train arrives they have their nifty little device that offloads the pipe from the train onto either A) the trucks or B) the holding racks. After that step it is sent to us to inspect, if it inspects clean EOG buys it, if not it is sent to be repaired. Well the issue comes in that their nifty little device is so nifty that when it has one part break on it that part takes 4 days to be replaced.

So right now there is a train full of pipe sitting at Ft. Worth Pipe yard just waiting for a little piece to come so they can unload it all. That information I got straight from the yard manager that we have at our yard on the property over there so I know that is the true information. That was also backed up by the forklift driver over in our yard here who talks to them for obvious reasons.

We happened to have 4 truckloads of pipe come into our yard today and my secretary goes to believe that the train must be in the process of unloading and the trucks will be streaming in all day. Needless to say my workers started to get a little more excited when they heard that the pipe was starting to roll in, and then were wondering why no more rolled in today. So I had to be the one to crush their spirits and tell them the true story. Which not to my surprise they were shocked.

Anyway, the pipe should be rolling into our yard either tomorrow or Thursday at the latest and from what I've heard it is going to be a good amount of pipe, which will definitely help. More to come later. Hope, love, and thread Dope. (lol)

That is what I have pretty much been as of late. Our pipe yard is possibly going to run out of pipe for a couple days while we wait for the trucking company we work with to get the pipe delivered to our yard. We are going to finish up the existing pipe as of tomorrow though so I am not sure if I will have Wednesday and/or Thursday off.

Although I try to get on here and check everyday there isn't much going on with my friends list or things of the sort. I do have a couple people who keep active on here but overall the site seems to be slowing a little. I am wanting to get on here more when I get the time, and I think I am going to have to make the time to get on here when I am home instead of eating and going to sleep in order to get up for the next day of busy busy busy.

Really though the one form of mass communication that I do sort of keep up with is Facebook. I have to be able to get messages for not only work but also for my DJ'ing through there. I have the updates sent to my phone and I get on there for a few minutes every night at the least. If any of you out there have and use Facebook that is how I communicate more than any other way.

For now, I am going to send this email to the CEO, financial guy and to my regional manager telling them we are possibly going to be out of pipe for a day or so, and then go get everyone ready to go on lunch break.

I know tomorrow is Memorial Day Monday, but I am going to be jamming out on an online radio station for anyone who might be interested in tuning in. I am going to be starting @ 12:00pm EST and mixing live on audio and video for 2 hours. For those of you who either don't remember or have never heard about it before, I am an EDM (electronic dance music) DJ. Some of you may know it as its general name "techno" but there is so much more to it than that, many many many genres. I digress though...

I will be starting tomorrow at 12:00pm EST and will be spinning on Project Radio. I will have a live video and audio stream going for at least 2 hours. I will be spinning breakbeats, electro house, and might veer into some other genres that are heavy on the bass.

I won't go too in depth yet into the EDM music scene but if you are up for some bass and music, and of course watching me make a fool out of myself, all you have to do is go to the website and scroll down. There is also a website based chatroom that you do not have to sign up for. Just click connect and you are right in there with a Guest nickname. If any of you are interested I will see you there. I will be under the nickname of FullTorQ.

I had an interesting day today. One of the new employees for the pipe yard is a former Air Force Weapons man who got to work on one of the more high end bombers. He and I got to talking about what we know about military and government and he was surprised at some of the knowledge I have. And I was definitely an intent listener to what he said. Of course there were some names of things he couldn't tell me but it was fun learning some new things about a couple particular jets and bombers.

So i guess other than having to send everyone home @ 4:30pm today because of a severe storm warning as well as tornado warnings in the area, it was a good day.

Well well well, look who has come back from the dead. A lot has been going on lately which is why I rarely have time to get online to mess around much anymore. I will start from the beginning.

Florida decided to make a very stupid move and make a huge budget cut on education. This budget cut was in the form or non-renewing certified teachers who were in their first 3 years of teaching and replacing them with non-certified teachers so they could pay them less. I was unfortunately one of the 27 in my school alone and 131 in the school district who were non-renewed. I spent probably a good year trying to find another teaching job, going to interviews and what not in the states of Florida, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona but none of them were hiring many positions. So Crystal and I went looking elsewhere.

That leads to where I am now. We moved to TX in late August and I was hired by her father at an oil pipe yard. Come to find out a lot of the guys here thought I wouldn't be able to hack it being a teacher. They didn't know me too well. I started out at the bottom and hard it rougher than the rest because my father-in-law didn't want to show favorites so he pushed me harder than the rest (story as old as time right?). I made my way through the ranks however, and withing 6 months I became the boss of the yard. My father-in-law transferred down to the San Antonio area to be a District General Manager so I was told by our GM that I was taking over the yard.

It was a long road though, starting off working 7 days a week from 5:30am until around 8-10:00pm. Now we are down to 5 days a week and still putting out the same amount of product. I work Mon - Fri and actually have time where I have to be in my office doing paperwork. So now I am starting to have a little bit more time to do things here and there outside of work. I still do get online and play some games however. Lately I have been tearing up Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, but I still get online and whoop up on people on HALO 3 (haven't bought reach yet), Red Dead Redemption, and Forza 3.

Other than keeping busy with work, which I could write a novel on what we actually do out here, I have been doing well. Not sure how many of you will still read this because you see it or still have me on watch but it would be good to be able to catch up with some of you guys & gals.

Anyway, it is time that I should get back out and check on the guys to make sure they are still working like they should be. Plus I have to print up an assignment sheet for the next 3 days. Do hope to hear from some of you soon,

      Peace, love, and hydraulic grease

In future years I think I need to spend some time on the back courts.

Being that close is really cool, and I only really watched some Juniors matches there for a little bit this year cause all my tickets were for Ashe.

Yeah we were mostly in the deck.

During the Nadal-Fish match we had a chance to move down to the front rows because it was so late but we missed when they were letting everyone downstairs and by time we got there they had closed it off again (not that I would have had pictures anyway due to dead camera)

We were in the front of the second tier on the first day for the Ivanovic match though.

      Luke 2:1-20

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.â€Â
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“ Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!â€Â

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.†And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely[d] known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

Let me ask you one thing. You mentioned these are "DJs" pushing you to play their songs. Are these 100% original songs that they wrote themselves or do these songs contain "sampled" parts of other songs (which to me = stolen music)?

    • Razzy

Having worked in artist management (of musicians) for many years, I have to disagree with you about the new the royalty system to adapt to new technology.

How are musicians supposed to make money from making music? They make significantly less on CD sales now because of illegal downloading and the ease that high quality copies can be made by anyone. They're also supposed to be making money each time their song is played (they are renting their song to radio stations to use). The only way artists seem to be able to make a living is to do live shows and even that is earning them less money. Why? Since this is their last resort to continue making a living, the prices of tickets have to be raised .... cost of all expenses to tour has gone up .... gas for tour buses, equipment trucks, cost of hotels, cost of crew salaries, and on and on ..... AND .... they need to make up for the LOST income from the above categories. Result? Fewer people can afford the ticket price.

So what is the solution? Don't give me this bit about musicians making millions, because for every one who makes millions, there are hundreds, if not thousands of musicians and groups trying just to earn a living so they can continue to make music as a profession instead of as a hobby.

This is a major bone of contention with me because people don't realize how LITTLE the average musician was making BEFORE it became easy for people to steal music and make professional grade copies in their own home.

The RIAA doesn't own the copyrights, but they are the advocate organization of not only the labels, but the artists. To what extent the label has ripped the artist off as far as those royalties not getting to them is often the fault of their having a dumb manager or attorney who signed most of their publishing rights away.

If your station can't afford to pay for the USE of the artists' music, then you need to find other ways for your station to earn money.
