I've thought of pursuing a "juz chillin" major, I think I could go far with that.

      Double minor. For it.

I think you've chosen a fine career path sir.

I assumed it was something else, like pursuing a degree in scuba diving.

But pillowteering sounds like a FAR better use of time.

      Pillowteers?
      Thats a profession?

      I must look into this...

Who knows, my facts or your facts may be false?

You'd think that 20 years would be enough to realize that he isn't going to change his mind (Obama changing Rev. Wright's) and move to a different church?

As for the money, what do mean he donated to the perish and not the church? I'm confused.

    • RvBRecruit

So why did he not donate his money to another church instead of ordaining himself and family there and staying there for...20 years I think it was, to the same pastor and church and only now is abadoning him?

Couldn't he have donated his money to a different church or at least left the church he was at now if he didn't agree with him? And sure, if just recently Rev. Wright just started preaching this and Obama just got caught in the crossfire I can understand, but no, 20 fraggin years of the same things spewed from the mouth of this preacher.

And I never said Obama was anti-american or totally agreed with Rev. Wright, but if you spend alot of time around them and not saying anything against it until someone points it out, kinda makes you think.

    • RvBRecruit

So donating $32,000 dollars (or close to that amount) to his church isn't supporting this person?

    • RvBRecruit

Let's see, there's Rev. wright (an obvious one) (anti-american), Father Phledger, Berdardine Dohrn, and William Ayers.

According to what I've read Obama actually started, his campaign in Ayer's home and served with him in a couple of things.

I mean the rich should pay their fair share but geez, tax'em too much and there's no point of being rich unless you're filthy rich and the poor should have a chance but if you're not careful it'll be better to making a living by not making a living than actually trying to go out there and get a job.

Sure Obama doesn't support terrorism, but I'm just saying that a few of his closest supporters are anti-american and/or were terrorists at one point.

There's got to be a balance, give too much to the poor and burden the rich too much and businesses will suffer (new and existing), but give too many breaks to the rich and burden the poor then unless you've invented a cure for cancer or something they're gonna stay that way.

    • RvBRecruit

And also, look up communism, because you obviously have no idea what it is. Obama does not support communism, or socialism, or terrorism, or anything else Rush has been spouting off about, he supports the middle class.

Perhaps Obama doesn't directly support communism, socialism, or terrorism but look at his cronies (ie for terrorism because a few of his closest supports have bombed either the capitol or police stations or at threatened it). Sure he doesn't support terrorism, but he never condemns those people nor told'em to get away from him, much like his church he may not agree with them but the fact that he did nothing shows more to me than he speeches ever will.

Communism is just one extreme side of socialism and frankly taxing the rich and basically giving it to the poor is what I'd call socialism/communism making everyone have an equal share in everything making everything fair.

"Capitalism is blessings shared unequally, socialism is misery shared equally."

Don't worry about gangs. We have numerous police that walk around the school all day because a few years ago the school was rated in the top 100 in the nation, but zoning problems brought many, not to sound racist, black people into the school; after that, there was quite a bit of crime, but that's stopped because of the police.

But I was talking about how lame the school is. The fact that they would even think making that video makes me hate them.

It is hard for me to tell anymore if Obama is really going to beat McCain in November. It all has to do with Obama selecting Biden as his VP running mate. Now, McCain has suspended his campaign for at least today because of the credit crisis. This whole election process is out of control now.

Ah, lucky you, you've encountered some decent ones then ;-). I've gone through a few teachers over the last year and a half. None I've really liked, but meh; the feeling everyone had was pretty much mutual.

Good luck with everything. I've enjoyed most of it so far, hope you do to.

Yeah college without parental finances is tough. Just keep an eye on your funds and don't get too far into debt.

I'd cry if I saw your computer? Probably not. Just clean it up and make it run a little better instead. Unless you're running Windows ME. Then I'd cry and give you a new operating system.

That's good to hear, but it seems like you're really pushing it. Are you just getting some core shit out of the way this semester or are you gonna be loaded for the whole year? (I mean, 20 hours is about five or six classes, right?). And two jobs? Man, you're working hard. Personally I'm hoping to finish my novel this year not have to work a day outside of high school ;)

Hey, if you get time, I might send you the first bit of my novel. By 'first bit', I mean the part where I took a whole month just for writing, and got the brunt of the groundwork in, but that I haven't really worked on for months.

No pressure or anything, but I wanna be sending it out by next summer, so I'm just looking for some people I trust to give some criticism and advice.

    • Ennui

Yo man, we haven't talked in forever. How's college going? Now that I'm starting my senior year in high school, it's kind of frighteningly close for me. Like, finally dawning on me that I'll have to choose a school and stuff.

But seriously, how's it going? You gotta find some writing time.

I don't have anything personal against Senator Obama. I just disagree with his campaign, as you disagree with McCain's.

I honestly don't see what the political attraction is. After Reverend Wright, William Ayers...I just don't see what qualifies him to be President.

    • Euronymous

Yes. Yes I would. After all the work that's been put into the war, Obama would pull out regardless of victory or defeat.

And let me challenge your picture: If Obama changes his mind "based on latest information", why would he need to remove every trace of his opposition to the war from his website? Why not just admit he was wrong?

    • Euronymous

      I listen to Sean Hannity.

Oh, and I can't forget about how Obama has flip-flopped on the Iraq War.
