Played with Friends in a team game: fucking awesome.

Played alone on Free for All: like slowly peeling the skin off of your penis.

Seriously. The oddball and slayer games couldn't end fast enough.

And whoever thought the plasma grenade gun thing was a good idea is PROBABLY a mountain dew-inhaling 13 year old who hasn't been on his meds in two weeks. Seriously, what the fuck? I remember when that was a modded Halo 1 weapon.

Summed up: had fun playing with Armita/in team games. Suddenly felt like Halo: Modern Warfare 2 when I started playing alone.

Anyone here use Nike+ to keep track of their runs/walks?

If you've got an iPod Nano/Touch/iPhone 3GS (or one of Nike's armband things), you can get a little sensor to stick in your shoe, and it keeps track of your miles/time/etc when you go running/walking. It's a neat way to keep track of your work outs, but they also have a system where you can set up challenges. At my store we have a challenge to see who can run the most miles in a month.

If enough people used it, a RvB Nike+ challenge would be pretty slick.

I just ordered 8 iPod sync cables for Armita's family on Monoprice.com, and shipped it was less than twenty bucks.

      Suck it, Apple.

While I'm not a huge fan of motion capture for pictures like Polar Express and A Christmas Carol, it's still sad to see a company that's accomplished so much closing so soon. I'm personally a huge supporter of anything that moves technology forward in digital mediums (yes, even stuff I don't like, including making EVERY movie in 3D...), and for Disney to shut them down reminds me of why I can't stand the typical Hollywood "business model".

OI still think it's appropriate that Pronger spent his final moments of the season in the penalty box...don't bring up the fact that Modano scored with 7 seconds left and he got out...I prefer my version better.

No, no, I meant MY upgrade to a new intel box last fall meant I had to buy new ram.

      Sorry, confusion.

And RT won't let you renew a still- active membership, so either someone else renewed yours, or you get more than 6 months. smiley0.gif

They only have that much because *I* had that much when I gave it to them.

And PowerPC ram won't follow you to a new Intel box...

Ah. You're right, actually. (Although I think you're wrong calling it a migraine.)

Caffeine tends to constrict the blood vessels - so when you use a lot of it, then STOP, the vessels expand, and cause you pain (especially in your head). Drinking caffeine will shrink 'em up again.

However, there's a difference between using caffeine as a short-term fix for migraine pain caused by something else, and using caffeine to keep you from feeling withdrawal symptoms from a caffeine addiction...

I tend to go off coffee for a week or so when I start noticing the headaches, just to get it out of my system. The first few days of that suck, though.

I'm sorry but I'm not gonna go around kissing his ass because the RT staff is. Comes in here thinking he is hot shit because he is a gamerscore whore who got achievements every day since 360 launch...big deal. Burnout is the only game I take seriously because of everything I've done and have proven against everyone I played. I've never needed leaderboards to tell me that I am one of the best racers.

Its obvious you dont play Burnout so I do understand if you havent played it.

But I don't think there was vicious intent, at least nothing Microsoft could really monitor. Im still wondering if they swapped the case and just got something smudged on the new one. Removing permanent ink like that would be such a pain, that I just wouldn't be surprised if they cracked it open, replaced the case, and stole your signed one.

I mean, no aspect of this makes sense, but I think immediately blaming Microsoft is a little low-brow (and I know you're not per se the one pointing the finger, but the media certainly is).

Honestly, I don't think "vicious intent" had much to do with it either, at least on the part of the support staff. I cannot account for what happened in the actual repair center, though, since very little information on it has been made available to me at this time. Microsoft does have people looking in to it, however, so I may have a better idea of what went wrong in the next few days.

I don't think there was a case swap for two reasons:
      1. I have been informed by Microsoft that part of the repair process is a cleaning of the console case itself before it is boxed and shipped back (suggesting a common-sense-type foul-up of epic proportions).
      2. The serial number on the back and other information are printed right on the bottom piece of the case. So far as I can tell, everything matches up perfectly, including the bar code.

I didn't write the story, as you know. I simply forwarded the information to the blogger. I probably would have included just a little more information and toned the language down a tad, but what she did certainly did spread the story to the point that it forced Microsoft to respond quickly. I know that a great many people are interested in seeing how this story ends, and when they learn what has transpired, the situation will probably cool off in a hurry.

      Why is that silly?

It's a simple request, and I was given assurances by the support agent that they'd send back the same console and I had nothing to worry about as far as the signatures and ink were concerned.
