After 6 robocalls yesterday I have had enough. I had one actual person who cheerfully encouraged me to vote as this election is so important to our country. She claimed she was for Barack, but then instructed me to go to THE WRONG VOTING LOCATION.

Dirty, DIRTY deeds. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

So I may have mentioned how LT's company is dangerously close to being bought, all because of the idiots at the helm of the company. Their latest act of lunacy is continuing with a reward trip. The trip in itself is a nice thing, top sales guys win these amazing trips to exotic locations for their work. The biggest problem is that all the top executives go, along with anyone else they want to "treat."

This year LT is in charge and it is in the Caribbean, Four Seasons Resort in Nevis. Because of the state of the economy, the state of the company (which has shown a loss many quarters consecutively) and just everyone's state of mind this year, he suggested that they cancel the trip and award cash prizes this year. NOPE, the execs wanted their trip. Well, it has rained the entire trip. Not only rained, POURED. A plane with many attendees was diverted due to the slick runways back to San Juan and arrived a day late. Unbelievable.

NOW comes the ultimate act of karma, they are being evacuated from the hotel this morning. It appears Hurricane Omar has other plans for them. If it weren't for the fact that my husband is there, I would be laughing my ASS off right now. Ahh karma, gotta love ya!

So we just got back from our old alma mater's Homecoming game. It was great fun seeing the people we wanted to see and just sort of turning away (conveniently) from the people we didn't want to see. We'll be going to the actual reunion tomorrow night. I'll share the highlights, but so far there was:

smiley9.gif the alumni band, which was almost as large as the current band
smiley9.gif my morning announcements partner, who aside from finally growing facial hair, looks exactly the same
smiley9.gif Chuck, who is still FABULOUS and calling me by my maiden name
smiley9.gif the guy we all used to call Puke, who had me laughing all through Biology, there to watch HIS high school girl in band
smiley9.gif wow, I wasn't the only one who packed on a few, if you know what I mean, lol

I know there are some very serious issues out there right now, the economy is crashing, gas prices are rising, people are losing their jobs. It's in these serious times that I need YOUR help. I have a big decision to make. HUGE decision.

Here it is, should I go to my 20 Year Reunion this weekend???? smiley0.gif But seriously, I can't decide. Here's what I've got so far:

PRO: Dave is very successful, 2 beautiful, bright children, I haven't seen some of these people in OH 20 years and honestly wish some of them well, high school was good to me, my boobs are a LOT bigger.......

CON: I put on lots of weight, I don't have a high powered career, I put on lots of weight, people will be shocked and amazed that I am a stay at home mom, I put on lots of weight, I haven't seen many of these people in 20 years for good reason.......

So please help me out. I guess the REAL question here is, do bigger boobs make up for weight gain? LOL

So my husband and his buddy started this little company, Gamertrainer.com. It took nearly a year to get the site up and running and all of their ducks in a row. We have trainers standing by!

This part has been even harder than waiting for the site, this waiting for "it" to happen. Thankfully he's in marketing at his real job, so he's really doing a bang up job of spreading the word. Check out a few of these stories:

www.geek.com/new-website-debuts-offering-video-game-training-20080822/ This was one of the first articles, it was so exciting!

news.curse.com/details/12910/ This one generated LOTS of traffic.

www.techcrunch.com/2008/09/04/cant-survive-a-day-in-world-of-warcraft-get-a-private-game-tutor/ This latest article brought us over 400 unique visitors to the site. Very, very exciting.

Of course, many of the comments are negative, which is probably to be expected, but people ARE talking about it. Dave just completed an interview with someone from techpin.com and he was contacted last night by someone from Current TV. The word is DEFINITELY getting out, right now it's just a numbers game. With all of these hits, business is bound to follow.

If you haven't yet, head over to gamertrainer, make an account, and post on the forums. Just check it out, give me some feedback here if you'd like.

Regardless of what happens, I'm proud of him chasing a dream and making it a reality. Ya gotta admire that!

So here's the update on our lives. The kids are home for summer, actually they are having the best summer EVER. Lots of play dates, they are both in the summer theater program, baseball, next week is Zoo Camp for the girl and Lego Mindstorms camp for the boy, Not too shabby eh? Plus we put in a pool which automatically = win when you are 10 and 8 years old. smiley0.gif

Dave is hanging in there at work, his company is expected to be sold which is great stress. To add to that, he had decided to look for another job before all this went down, so he has kind of mentally checked out. But NOW, with a pending sale, he's going to hang on for his year of guaranteed severance, stock options, and possible retention balance. This is big time boys and girls. I feel like he is really taking one for the team here, but the payoff is just too big to walk away from. It's crap like this that let's you know that no matter how much you "play" in life, you are DEFINITELY a grown up. smiley2.gif Be extra nice to him please.

As for Gamertrainer, well, I believe the site is ready for action. Now we just have to rally the troops, get our trainer's ducks in a row, and open for business. Tough part is, Dave's been out of town so much that he hasn't had time to communicate with everyone. Gratefully he took next week off, we'll get some house stuff done and hopefully put the wheels back on the site.

If you just read all of that, WOW, thanks, you deserve a giant hug and are a true friend. I miss the Old Posse, hell I miss the NEW posse for that matter. Love to everyone, seriously, smiley12.gif

you gave me the answer (in the credit card poll) I wanted to hear ... which was "typically American".

But with one balance for them all, it is still pretty easy to manage to not get overindebted.

In Europe people usually have one (like I do) credit card - if they have one at all. Or let's say maximum one card per each banking institute they own an account. Meeting someone with two or more credit cards is a rare phenomenon ... and debit cards are everywhere! :-)

      Hey
it's no problem at all ^_^. You might not believe this but strangely enough it's actually pretty fun translating stuff HaHa. If you need me to translate anything else i'll gladly do so.
Then when your site is huge and famous i'll be like: 'yeah i'm so cool cause i translated stuff for them', that way i can impress people :p

    • SilentBob23

I am glad that it was helpful. :-)

Every translation you will receive from either me or Larry will be the actual content of the article, video a.s.o. Negative points about your website and/or the idea behind it are very useful to correct miss understatements or maybe an actual "bad" part of it!

So what you will get is the truth, as you wish (not that I could live doing it any way different :-) ).

I wish you a nice day, I will go to bed in some hours...

    • SilentBob23

According to Larry the article is about the following:

In the first paragraph, he basically describes what the site is all about and what you do.

In the second paragraph he describes how the costs work and then he says he thinks that it's a bit expensive considering the cost of games, but he also says that (to him) it seems as if the site was aimed towards 30-45 year olds and that they normally can afford it.

He thinks that it's a good idea, especially because alot of new players are impatient when they try out a game and get frustrated if they lose or cant be bothered to read the manual. He says that the site is similar to WiPley.com and that he's going to keep checking it out to see it evolve.

      -----
      I hope it was helpfull?

You are very welcome and I am glad that I could help you.

I can offer my help for German, French and English (but I don't think you need it ;-) ). Also I could organize help with Spanish and Portuguese too.

Which French site asked for an interview?

I am very happy that this project turned out to be something great :-)

I have to admit, being your "man about Europe" sounds quite cool.

      Hi Ann Marie!

The video is about - at the beginning - German politics (the big parties are having a fight) and they make fun of it an propose and idea how the two big parties (who are forming a coalition) can be a "happy couple" again. That's why the woman is mentioning "sidetaker - let the world decide who's at fault".
Than they are making fun about couple in general and nature, moving to jewels, natural jewels (they show a ring where grass is growing on it)
      Than you arrive.
She says something like: "people feel the need to cry after they died, especially if others are happy about it! No, no, I am not talking about colleagues, I am talking about your co-players (they show your website). In order to not die that often, you can from know on take private lessons/coaching from trainers/coaches. Of course online, those pro-gamers don't really like to leave their homes (she said it in a funny way, not bad). Or you can..." And they move to gwap!
And than they make more fun about the death and that's it.

Ehrensenf is a comical but still - between the lines - very serious German website. They, as you probalby saw, are copying the idea of news shows. It is not TV-news, but they appear also on www.spiegel.de, a very serious - weekly printed news magazine (just search for "Ehrensenf" on the website)! Spiegel.de has many, many hits a day. I am visiting their website several times a day!

So you can say, you got a very good promotion from them, reaching people from about 18 to 50 years of age!! :-)

      Well done :-)

If you need more help, I will do my best!
