Just like everyone else, I intended to make some sort of hype follow up post immediately following RTX. Yet I find myself here at home now with some of the most intense feelings I've had in a while. I guess I can start off by saying how incredibly lucky I am to have you all in my life and how grateful I am to have met a lot of you. You're that friend family squad I've always wanted. (and that's nothing against my @ home squad, it was just crazy fun this last week). I've always wanted those late night excursions, dinners, and drinks. Those long days together with a ton of people where you just fall asleep happy because of them and all the laughs you had. Speaking of laughs, we shared a lot of those.. granted some of them shouldn't be talked about in public you sinnamon rolls you. I'm glad to have been around for the creation of some of those strange jokes, and that half a sinful podcast i was in. Even those of you who couldn't be at RTX made me laugh and smile on twitter while you kept up with everyone. But like I keep saying, you guys are amazing, the amount you all care for one another and the length you went to keep people safe and look out for them during rtx is amazing. we functioned like, an albeit strange, family and it made me feel safe. I'm soooo thankful for all of you. Especially those who wheeled me around the entirety of Austin for days on end, those who came and got me early in the morning so i wasn't alone for a panel, those who made sure I could get to sit with everyone at dinner, and everything else everyone did to help me out. I was seriously having anxiety attacks for a long time before traveling to this event because I thought, I'll be helpless and my friends won't understand it'll be awkward and what will they think of me.. but the amount of love and support and help you all showed me made me realize i had nothing to worry about. You're all incredible, selfless, unconditionally loving people and I don't think I can ever express exactly how much thanks I have for you, and how much I love you all. Every single one of you made this event amazing and enjoyable for me. Even more emotional than thinking about all the nice things you've done for me over the past week, is how much i already miss everyone. I didn't know I'd cry so much, and how quiet it could be after leaving.. It makes me want it to be next year already so we can all be in Austin together again. It will feel like forever and also no time at all when its next summer all of a sudden. But it will be okay because we still have each other on the internet until then, and we will be there to help however we can, just like when we were together. I'll always hold my first rtx with you all in a special place in my heart. I love you all so much <3

I've been awake since maybe 4pm Yesterday.. Couldn't sleep even a little this past night. In the next couple hours I'll be traveling to the airport and boarding a flight for Austin. First time ever to Texas, so obviously first time going to RTX. I'm so nervous and so excited. Ready to see my Afterstreamer friends that's for sure <3

    • The Afterstreamers: Happy 1st Birthday!

It's been nearly 9 or 10 months since I posted my last journal- so I believe it's about time for another.
The Afterstreamers has reached its 1 year anniversary and honestly I'm so happy for that. I wouldn't say there was a lot of doubt of us making it a year together, but I'm sure there were some non-believers. However- I've seen our group grow (Passed 200 members- WOT) and come together as friends and maybe just acquaintances, but that's okay. We've formed relationships and friendships I don't think anyone will be able to forget. The streams we attended in the beginning have become so much more, and from those, new streamers arose from our group. There's always something going on every week- whether it be a stream, tinychat, or gamenight- and they're always a bunch of fun.

A couple weeks before the formation of The Afterstreamers I had just gotten my first Xbox 360, had only watched Ray and Tina stream a couple times, and didn't know many people. Furthermore, knew I didn't know anyone with an Xbox.. Thankfully one of those fateful nights I saw an open invitation to a tinychat. Extremely nervous, I joined. Everyone in there seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot and it made me pretty comfortable to be around them. I decided I could stick around with this fun group.
Gamertags were shared and soon found my self in the beginning of Afterstreamer City in minecraft. Claiming a house and adding my own likes to the place made me feel at home. and it wasn't too long after that I was approached by Brendan, asking me to be an admin in this group. I was excited and accepted, even though I wasn't sure all I would be doing or contributing (honestly still not sure, jk). It seems like the entire summer was spent in either minecraft, halo 3, and gta v, which was completely fine with me..Some of the best laughs I've ever had were during that summer. Ohmygosh and Podacasts- can you imagine there's been like 22+ podcasts!! How crazy and cool is that. True they're not the most professional- but they can get pretty funny.(If you haven't listened to them all, just pop em on in the background while doing whatever, it's a good time).

In the fall I was overwhelmed at the fact our group joined Extra Life and streamed games for 24 hours, raising close to $2k. I was absolutely blown away at the hard work and generosity of our group, my friends. We did something amazing that mattered and helped a hospital #ForTheKids! Everyone came together and was so happy with what we were doing. I definitely shared words of my group with a lot of people just because I was so proud of how we were helping!
On a different note - Destiny became a plague among our group, let's not forget the salt that's gone along with that, I'm unsure if I'll ever return to it. I free'd myself from it and true I've been on xbox less, but I'm planning on coming back when I can, when everyone's not in Destiny (lol) Our group slowed down a little and a few were #ded, but people continued going to streams and hanging out on xbox, and that's what matters.
GOSH- I can't leave out hanging out with fellow Admin Zach and his wonderful magical member of a girlfriend Nadine. They both came over to hang out with my good pal Jamie and I- TWICE! Mall hangs and car rides, makeovers and fish gazing. It was amazing- and I cant wait for the #SquadSquad to hang out more!

And here we are a whole year later, farther than we ever planned we'd be. I'm so happy to be a part of everything that's happening with this group. I'm excited for the rest of this year. I really hope to meet everyone that I can at RTX later in August. That's something I'm looking forward to a whole heck of a lot- not only do I want to meet the company who led me to gaming and streams, but most of all is meeting all my Afterstreamers. "meeting RT yeah it'll be cool- meeting AS- im gONNA CRY". Be prepared for that. Hopefully I won't actually cry too much, I'll try to hold back.
Truth is though, everyone, all my pals, this group, it makes me unbelievably happy- I couldn't ever have imagined having this much fun and this many pals any day of the week whenever I needed cheering up or to have a fun time. Y'all are the greatest and I can't wait for the year ahead of us. smiley12.gifsmiley12.gif

    • Just an idea I had...

I haven't watched The Rocky Picture Show since October (though I've seen it a million times over, live as well.) But it's time, (to do the time warp again) no seriously, I need to watch it this week (or next if its not possible). I was thinking I could maybe livestream it... iiiifff any of my friends *cough* afterstreamers *cough* would like to watch that with me. *cough* youre dead to me if you say no *cough* sorry im still a bit sick. ahaha. Honestly though, when Star streamed Singing in the Rain, it made me want to stream a movie with people soooooo RHPS is the one and only choice im dishing out right now. Besides, its another way to hang out other than xbox,tc,and game streams, kinda so why not, am i right? I'm sure it's not the best movie to a lot of you, but I mean, this is how I've solidified friendships with a lot of people. ;) plsplspls

    • THERE'S NEWS!!!

IIImmm an Admin in The Afterstreamers now!! Being accepted into their group so quickly was amazing, and I'm glad I can call these people my friends. (though i joke about hating them, i could actually never hate them <3) Being given the opportunity to be an admin is something I'm glad to take, not sure what I'll be doing specifically yet, but i'll do my best with what is given to me. The Afterstreamers literally mean so much to me. I went from having a new xbox with no games or friends to play with, to quickly spending the last couple of months playing minecraft, gta v, halo games, and talking to them almost every day. I'm thankful that I've found them, that they like me, and that we're friends. I really hope I talk to more new afterstreamers over the next year, and i'm looking forward to hopefully meeting a lot of them at RTX2015! <3

    • A Band worth knowing about!

      wontontongirl

If there was any one band I could suggest to people, it'd be the best band that I know: Family Force 5. This comes into my mind because I'm reflecting on the 10 concerts of theirs that I've been to, and the future ones I plan to go to. That's how awesome I think they are..
Their concerts are amazing, spectacular, unlike anything you've ever seen. And usually not that expensive either. Totally worth it to me. They're a nice group of people, originally from Atlanta, GA. The most kind people I've ever encountered. They'll go out of their way just to say hello to you and have a chat. They've had a couple music videos that were fan powered, for their songs "Cray Button", and "Zombie". I got the opportunity to be in Zombie and it was the best experience of my life.
They're not a small band just starting out, they're working on their 4th album, but they definitely aren't the most well known band. They're just a bunch of fun loving guys, the music is super catchy and great to groove to.
There's just one change to the music, all the music that's currently out has their old lead singer Solomon, and he's since left to be with his wife and child, so Jacob the former drummer, and solomons brother, has now taken lead position. a new drummer, Teddy, has joined the band. and at this point its worth noting, Nathan plays keys, Derek is on guitar, and Josh plays bass. (They all have the coolest/weirdest nicknames, but ill let you find those out on your own.)
Also its clean music so you can listen to it in front of kids if you wanted to. Just mentioning that because as a fan of Starbomb as well, theres a great difference in the music.

I apologize if anyone ever catches me trying to talk about FF5 in any livestreams or tinychats, i just want people to know the greatness that is the Family Force 5. They deserve all the love in the world, and so does their crew that tours with them. They're all just super amazing people that you should know about smiley12.gif

For the year or so i've been watching roosterteeth ive only had 3-4 friends who like their content to some degree. I've recently found the afterstreamers, theyre a lovely bunch of people and their CaH games are great! I just feel more welcome into the community having more people to talk to than just my friends at home. smiley0.gifsmiley12.gif
