I dreamed of the Ramseys the other night. Strange, considering I don't visit here all that much. Griffon was really pissed off at me for some reason. Was it a sign that I need to visit here more often? Maybe my psyche was telling me something. Meanwhile, I'm reading the works of Dave Duncan. Gonna OD on his books very soon, but that's okay. Hope everyone out there is doing very well. I'm okay.

Whoa... I havent signed in for a month. What a jerk am I! Still running around Act 1 in Diablo 2. Fascinating game, though. I've been busy gaming and messing around with my old diaries. Back in 2001, I read a really awesome book called 'The hour of our death'. I'm rereading it now, and let me tell you, the Marquis de Sade had the quintessential sick mind! Lots of really twisted minds ran around in the 16th, 17th, and 18th Centuries. Monks having sex with the presumed dead, incest galore, and death, death, death!
Okay, enough cheap sensationalism. This is really a very good account of the history of people's perceptions and feelings about death and dying. For the morbid, and for anyone wanting something a little different, this book is highly recommended. I still love it!
Back to work, and I'm enjoying it so far. I guess I was ready to go back to work. Of course, the kids haven't gotten back yet. That's for next week. Anyway, that's the scuttlebutt. Time to send my cold sorceress back into the fray. That Andariel chick needs killing, after all! BYE.

Disappeared again! What is wrong with me? Anyway, I'm very close to purchasing Diablo 2. Also, I've gotten into Patricia Highsmith's 'Ripley' series. I found myself rooting a little for Tom Ripley. He's supposed to be the bad guy, and yet I'm rooting for him. Sign of very good writing on Highsmith's part.
Hope everybody's doing great! My summer's been good. BYE.

Relieved that it's only been a couple of weeks or so since I last posted. Hanging head in shame. My bad. I brought my car to the lake for the first time ever and got two chips in my windshield. On the driver's side. Damn cocksucking bastard of a semi!!!! But I'm not bitter. I brought the car to a glass place and had to get the whole windshield replaced. Damn that vermin-ridden whore spoor of a semi!! Seriously, I'm not bitter. At least MPI paid for most of the mess. I guess being a good driver does have its perks.
Listening to Ron Sexsmith and reading the works of Bakunin. Getting into anarchism (reading, not acting)and 'Night Court'. The dudes on that show had the height. I've decided to stay away from WOW for a while yet. Just not worth the subscription. Oblivion and Sims 3 will continue to rule my free time for a while to come. That and reading.
How's the summer been for everyone? Fairly good for me. BYE.

    • Sigh...

      wry80

The summer is here, so why do I feel like I should be at work? Meanwhile, I've been away for a rather long time, what with Oblivion and Sims 3 needing my constant attention. Now I've been investigating WOW and am sorely tempted (like Galahad was during his time in Castle Anthrax) to play the game.
Great. Another reason to ignore RT. I have been able to keep my blog going and do the occasional Tweet, so I haven't completely dropped off the face of the earth. Still, I know I should be visiting here more often. Oops.
Anyway, I hope to come back here soon. I hope nobody's been worrying. Nothing bad's going down (Sims doing laundry is NOT a bad thing -- on the contrary, it's pretty cool). I STILL think RT should resurrect The Strangerhood.
      So that's about it. BYE.

    • Baha'i and killing castles

      wry80

Basically, I'm reading about the Baha'i Faith (one of those mysteries I've only had time to plumb now) and visiting a gaming website with games relating to physics. I've become rather fond of one such game where you man the catapult and try to knock over castles, killing everyone within them. Incredibly addictive stuff, especially when the soldiers and the like cry out in agony when the rocks hit them. I don't know if the blood factor would bump this game up to T.
Anyway, that's what's going on. Long live the long weekend!

      wry80

Been keeping busy with a bunch of stuff. Lots of reading and some gaming. Been finding carpet beetles in my apartment. I'm pretty sure I had nothing to do with it.
Beetles are very annoying. No roaches or bedbugs, so it's not the end of the world.
      That's about all for me.

I really need to check in more often. Bad form! as Captain Hook was heard to say. What with Oblivion and Sims 3 and life in general. April was a good enough month... can't complain. New Sims 3 expansion pack coming out. I'm pretty pleased about that.
I have been keeping my blog updated and everything. So, if anyone's interested, feel free to have a look at it. Apologies for being away for such a friggin' long time.

Going between Sims and Oblivion these days. I'm also reading about Marxism and watching Doctor Who. Tom Baker's the best! I should've bought some Dalek-related episodes, but I wanted to see something different. Speaking of Oblivion, I've been making use of this website for advice. The Wastes of Oblivion remind me of DOOM, which is still one of the goriest games I've ever come across. Awesome peril-laden landscape!

Well, unless you really want to use smileys and colors, I'd say save your money (since you really aren't into getting RvB a couple of hours early).

What I do to protect my accounts is use a Travel Card from AAA. It's basically a debit card without being tied to any of your bank accounts. It cost me $5 to get it started, and nothing to reload it. I can put up to $9,999.99 on it. It's convenient and I do all of my online transactions with it. You're protected, and you can get a new card if you have any doubt about someone accessing it for just $5.

      Not a bad deal.

Well, you can adjust the AI difficulty to make defeating enemies much more easy. And I'm glad I have XP Pro on my PC. I bought the factory refurbed model because it was the last time I could get a machine with XP Pro factory installed and figured all of the bugs had been worked out and I have a licensed version of XP Pro to install on any PC of mine (maybe even on my Mac some day!). Haven't had a bit of trouble with it.

Eh, like I said in my journal, I enjoy them both. They're both funny in their own ways. Granted, I'm the only one I know in the 18-35 demographic that even likes Jay a little bit. I'm fine with that though. I hope they both find ways to stay on the air.

For what it's worth, Conan needs to accept the move to 12:05/11:05 central. I understand why he didn't. However, he needs to think about his crew who will be out of a job and his fans who just want him to stay on the air. There's a time and place to stand your ground. A half hour move, losing your job, and this recession is not that time nor the place.
