About the game:
Your back to another city, but this time its different. You are no
running from the cops like in Most Wanted. You are trying to find out what
happened the night you disappeared. Nobody is quite sure what happened.
As the game progresses you slowly figure out what happened that night.
You race you way to the top. Once you are able to challenge the boss of
that territory you will have to settle this in what Need For Speed
Carbon calls a "Canyon Duel". These duels take a lot of practice to master.
Types of Races:
- Drag - Straight track, you must reach the end first to be the winner.
+ Circuit - Circular type track, you must hit the finish first to win.
All circuits on carbon are limited to 2 laps.
+ Drift - Another words sliding with style. This was first introduced
in NFSU and NFSU2 but was removed in NFSMW
+ Downhill Drift - First introduce in NFSU2 but again was removed in
NFSMW. Its basically Drifting down hill. As an added bonus to Carbon,
Developers made certain Corners breakable, Meaning stay away from the
edge, because you will fall off!
+ Sprint - Basically a Point to Point race. Get to the end first to
+ Speedstrap - First introduced in NFSMW. The track is fitted with
check points. Be going as fast as you can when you hit these "Cameras". The
first one to cross the finish line is not necessarily the winner. The
player / CPU, with the best accumulative speed is the winner. But having
this in mind, after the first person cross the finish line, every
player will lose points until that player crosses the line.
+ Checkpoint - Basically getting to the finish line as fast as you
can. You need to get to the finish line before the time runs out
+ Canyon Race - This is brand new to the NFS series. You are racing
down a very narrow road on a Hill. First on across the finish line wins
+ Canyon Duel - There are 2 stages to this race. You and a boss finish
it off here. The boss goes first, you have to follow him throughout the
whole canyon to the finish. The closer you are the higher you will
score. Next stage is are in front, you have to make it to the finish line
before the points you scored run out. If you or the boss run off the
track that person loses. if you are behind the boss or the boss is behind
you by about 400ft, that player has 10s to catch up or that person
loses. You make not use NOS or Speedbreaker.
