Ok, so I guess I'm a bad RvBer, since I haven't properly updated in like, three weeks. Anyways, I haven't been up to much. Last week I worked at a magic camp for kids, and I had never worked with kids before, so I was kind of anxious about it, but I actually ended up enjoying it a lot, and it payed $10/hour. Bitchin'. Other than that, I'm still working at Panera, although they didn't schedule me at all for this week... smiley4.gif I wonder sometimes about the competency about our managers.

Hm. I guess my life is just boring right now? Happy fourth to all the Americans!

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

      1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
      2) Italicize those you intend to read.
      3) Reprint this list in your own blog so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.

      1. Gun Control - The Trews (I am so in love with this song and this band)
      2. The Bitch of Living - Spring Awakening
      3. Paralyzer - Finger Eleven
      4. Endless Torture - Wayne Bergeron
      5. Santa Clara Vanguard's 1989 Phantom of the Opera show (Second highest scoring show in DCI history! ...I am such a dork.)
      6. Rebel Yell - Billy Idol
      7. Futures - Jimmy Eat World

Tagz: otter_be, Cockbite26, Retrac, bitten1ce.....yeah, that's all I'm tagging. Nobody else is active/actually reads my journals. Sad?

    • A Poem.

      ygrof

I wrote this the night before I turned 18. Tell me if you like it.

      Standing here
      on the threshold.

      Will it happen
      Just like that?
      Will life snap
      Her snappy fingers
      And there I am?

      Will a clock
      Strike its twelve
      Tick, tock, tick,
      Ding, dong, ding,
      And there I am?

      I ask because
      I do not know
      What to expect
      As Flather would say,
      I want the meaning

      We all want symbols
      In our lives
      But a symbol
      This night is not
      This night is dawn
On the rest of my life.

      I think about it
      My heart grows fierce
      The world is mine!
      And it’s time to live
      So here I come.

      All my life
      I’ve been a kid
      And now I start
      A whole new one
      So here I come.

      (Hello, world!)

    • Ok, so I know I promised you...

...that I would write up a recap of the past year, but I've been rather busy lately, what with GRADUATION and all. Sorry, I'm very excited that I'm, you know, actually a high school graduate now. In case you were wondering, I'll be attending the University of Maryland in the fall. Soooo excited.

Anyways, I'm not going to go for a full recap of the past year right now. That's a lot of writing. Suffice to say that it's been...high school. There's been drama, bullshit, senioritis, but through it all, I feel like I've flourished a lot this year, and I feel like I'm entirely ready to move on to college, adulthood, and all that that entails. I've completed my last season ever with the Rockville High School Marching Band as assistant drum major, with quite an emotional end. i've performed as King Sextimus in Rockville's production of Once Upon a Mattress, and our director and my sister said that I stole the show. And at the end of the year, I was selected to be the student speaker at graduation. If you want to see it, I uploaded it on Facebook. Oh, by the way, if you haven't friended me on there, do it. I'm on all the time.

Anyways, growth, coming of age, responsibility, blah, blah, blah. How have you all done in the past year?

The seeds of my recession from RvB have been planted.

The seed has sprouted, and dark limbs and trunk have grown.

And even, yes, the dreary flowers have been pollinated by the busy bees from the bustling hive that is Facebook.

And the bloom has begun to germinate.

Soon, I fear, I will lift my arm, pluck one of these sad fruits, and ingest their dire consequences.

It's been a good run. But I actually have a social life now, and it's taking over. Not to mention RvB just isn't what it used to be.

    • Whoa.

      ygrof

      Holy crap.

      Guess who has his license?

      Yeah. That's right.

And guess who's driving a Camaro?

      Right again.

      Rock on, bitches.
