Been in Korea this last month and busy with classes et all. Pictures and videos are much better than reading boring text, but I can't post anything 'till I'm back Stateside. Korea's been a blast, best Spring Break I've ever had even though it wasn't a vacation. I've got alot of journal lurking to do.

    • I jumped out of an airplane today.

I jumped out of a plane.

I jumped right out of a plane.

      I. Jumped. Out. Of. An. Airplane.

      Today. Twice,

Holy fucking shit I jumped out of a plane and I get to do it again and, oh man I love the Army right now because I get to do it again tomarrow!

I got paid to jump out of an airplane, that either makes me incredibly stupid or incredibly fortunate to have such a great job.

    • "How many weeks until you're through?"

      z5blue

"One more week and I'll be through. I won't have to look at you, super, super, ugly you..."

Starting Monday, weather permitting, our company will finally get to perform the first of 5 jumps as part of our graduation requirement. Alot of the guys are nervous about it. For me, it's not the jumping out of a plane flying 1200 feet above the ground at 25 knots that scares me most (don't get me wrong, that does cross my mind more than a few times each day) it's the landing part that I'm most anxious about. Our first week here the cadre taught everyone how to execute a Parachute Landing Fall in order to distribute the shock that landing has onto multiple parts of the body, thereby reducing the likely hood of injury. Most of the horror stories we've heard about people getting injured involved them not following proper technique. It's alot of stuff to remember to do in a short amount of time. I just really hope I don't gain the ability to lick the bottom of my boot after any of these jumps. That would suck, especially since this is all I've gotta do before I finally get to go home.

At the same time I'm also super excited about this. After all, I've always wanted to go skydiving. The Army has a way of taking the fun outta things so I guess I'll see if I can get a proper thrill when all is said and done.

Meanwhile, all I do is wait. "Hurry up and wait" is certainly true for life in the Army. For junior enlisted though that usually means having to do some bullshit detail when there's nothing to do. Police calls, barracks maintenance, moving furniture, even having to do some painting or whatever just to make sure us Privates have something to do. Idle hands and all that, I guess. I keep asking myself whenever I get roped into these things when am I going to get the detail where I've got to help the Sergeant finish all the excess ice cream in the freezer? Heh. Well I might not have been able to do that, but I did get to help my company commander on a video project before I left Ft. Lee last month. Remember Terry Tate: Office Linebacker? Well we did the same thing. I didn't get to go to the Brigade Dining-Out to see it, but I did get a copy of the video. Enjoy.

    • Hey

      z5blue

Just lurking the site, hoping for new video content and I just decided to give any and all who have me on their watchlist one more thing to click on as you all browse the interwebs today. Long time no post. However much I hate to admit it, without the actual RvB series, the website doesn't really appeal to me these last couple of days. I guess, because I've been gone so long, it's like when you miss a few episodes of a favorite TV show and you come back to it and are like, "What the Hell is going on?". For me I either just stop watching, or play catch up on the reruns.

It would seem to be appropriate to ask what's up with you all, but I've got a fairly backlogged alert list to get caught up to you all with so I guess that's what I'll be doing on RT in between RvB. As for me? Well, I went through the Army's Basic Combat Training (sucky but it's true what they say about you only remembering the good parts), completed the Advanced Individual Training for my MOS (military job, which mine happens to be as a Unit Supply Specialist), and am now undergoing Basic Airborne Training here at Fort Benning, GA.

      Anyway, just a heads up.

Sorry I can't wish you all a good one individually, I'm leaving for Army BCT on Sunday and this is probably my only opportunity to do so. Have a good one! See you all again in 9-10 weeks and, if not, by next July.

      z5blue

Then it's finals, then I get to go home, then I have to come back, then I leave for BCT. One step at a time though.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'm going to fail my English class. I hate writing and, yes, I realize the irony in typing that statement.

Today's RT comic makes me want to buy Left 4 Dead. Maybe I will take my 360 home instead of leaving it in storage for the next couple of weeks.

To whatever meager social life I had. Fallout 3 releases tomarrow. I swear I spent hours on end playing the first two, so, yeah.

    • Let the games begin... later. Maybe.

      z5blue

Just got my 360 back from the repair center. Seeing as how I've got work in half an hour, classes all day tomarrow and another Drill Weekend with the Guard on Saturday and Sunday, I don't think I'll get to do anything with it besides set it up. I think though I'll leave it in the shipping box, just so I'm not tempted to play instead of doing more important things. We'll see though.

Any chance you can get on sooner? If we start at 9 MST, that will leave us only 4 hrs to do it, and we've already proven that we need more time than that with our last run.

    • whtsnk58

These are the time we could play in all the time zones cause I can't remember which one you're in:
      9pm/9:30pm EST - 3am EST
      8pm/8:30pm CST - 2am CST
      7pm/7:30pm MST - 1am MST
      6pm/6:30pm PST - 12am PST

      Can you make it?

    • whtsnk58

      What one do you prefer?

Once I'm done with P90X (or after once I get good results) I'm posting before and after photos. My before photos are really bad, so if I get a 6 pack my after photos will show how much I've been working on getting in shape!

Thanks! No worries about the water. I down 64 oz. a day minimum. My main problem is I'm never energetic in the morning and I'm running on empty. In the morning I have trouble doing 6 sit-ups, in the afternoon I can crank out 30+. Any hints on how to get more energy in the morning? :)

Just to let you know, it is a good thing you didn't wait for the Survival Edition, because I'd have to it was a waste of money. smiley4.gif

    • whtsnk58

Well what I did was I signed up for that free trail of Amazon Prime, then I placed my order for the Survival Edition. Having Amazon Prime gives you free 2 day shipping, or overnight for like $3.99. You just need to make sure to cancel before the free trial is up, cause it is like a huge ass yearly fee.

During my free trial, I placed my preorders for: Fallout 3 Survival Edition, Fallout 3 Collector's Edition Guide, and Gears of War 2 Lancer & Collector's Edition bundle. So I'm getting the 2 day free shipping on all of those. smiley0.gif

The problem would be getting a server job. I have no experience. :(

That and I did an incoming call center once. I told myself I could callous out everything and not let if get to me. I lasted 1 week on the phones. I couldn't stand it. I hate doing jobs where people blame me for things that aren't my fault and I can't say anything besides "I'm so sorry..." Plus no one is tipping. My sister worked at Outback and had to quit because she only made $20 a night. I don't think I could handle not having a stable income. I need to be able to punch exact numbers.

The main problem with working on campus is that every job I've found that I could do, requires hours on Tues and Thurs. The only 2 days I'm not open.

I looking into some temp agencies but a lot of them are for construction. I haven't been able to find any jobs for general office stuff.

Thanks. I should have learned to budget my $ better. Oh well. I'm hoping these worries will go away once I start a career with a decent salary. I think the main problem right now is my 2 jobs don't give me a stable or predictable income. Since I plan everything not knowing when I'm getting a paycheck, or for how much, is driving me insane.

Don't down talk the Red Army!

I love Simmons! I'm such a kiss ass at work, he's the main character I relate to! I swear, I'm always saying things like, "Right away!" "No problem, I'll get that done..... No don't worry, I have nothing else to do! (when there are 5 other things I have)" "You need that done by today? No problem! I'll stay as late as I need to make sure you get it before the end of the day!" I think if I get another job I'm going to add in the Sir and Ma'am...... then it would be truly like SImmons.

      Main goals-

      1. Crap load of solar power plants in the sunny areas of the world. Along with solar panels on roofs.
      2. Free health care. Private practices can still run, but anything that is an emergency is 100% free.
      3. 4 day work week.
      4. Free cake (pies will be only for throwing into people's faces)
      5. I plan at some point to Rick Roll the entire world at once.
      6. Oil will be saved to produce more plastic to make more video games.
      7. All annoying children will be forced to wear shock collars.
      8. No stupid lawsuits ever again.
      9. Fondue will be worshiped like a God.
      10. RT will have their own TV channel. RvB will run 24/7

I'm sure I have other ideas. Somewhere in my head.

I started to watch Reconstruction chapter 2 here, but where I'm at, they said I'm not allowed to watch videos because it sucks up their bandwidth. So, hopefully this will still get the net back at the dorm.

That basically is saying, I haven't got to watch shit.

There is nothing worthwhile in AZ to see.... I guess the grand canyon is okay. Sedona is pretty. Stop by Tucson and I could take you to Tombstone. Big tourist trap, but it has the OK corral! Bisbee has the mining tour. Don't know if they still take you into the mine... You could visit a ghost town.... yeah... there really isn't anything interesting in AZ. But hey, if I can't afford a US road trip, I'm doing a SW one.

He did fine, really. I mean, if you go in the right attitude, and you don't let the stupid guys get to you (you know the always proving themselves by trying to pick fight type), then you'll do fine. Some of it is really hard, but like I say, the attitude you have is most important. And doing what ever you're told whether you're being watched at the time or not.
